Chapter 41 Someone is Framing Us!

The next day, Victoria arrived at the office.

Wesley burst in without knocking, sweat on his forehead.

"What's up?" Victoria asked, squinting her almond-shaped eyes.

"Ms. Kennedy, a customer exposed that our new Time series perfume has chemicals causing skin issues. The PR team is trying to suppress it, but if it gets out, we'll face massive refunds," Wesley said urgently.

Victoria glanced at her computer. "It's too late."

Wesley looked at her screen, seeing an article titled: [Horizon Group's Starry Brand Perfume Contains Chemical Ingredients!]

Victoria scrolled through the rapidly increasing comments:

[How do these people sleep at night?]

[I just got mine. Now I'm scared to use it. Refund!]

[This company will go bankrupt. Refund!]

[Is it that bad? I just ordered. What now?]

[Return it before it ruins your face.]

[Yeah, return it before it's too late.]

[This company should be shut down. The FTC should step in!]

[Orchid perfumes are the best. No issues for years.]

[I've been using Orchid perfumes too.]

Victoria noticed these keywords and said, "Ignore the article. No statements."

Wesley looked confused, "Then what?"

"Find the victims, get the products they used, check the batch, and retrieve the lab reports," Victoria instructed.

"Got it," Wesley replied. "Should we recall the products?"

"Just process returns for those who want them," Victoria said calmly.

Wesley felt reassured. Despite being only twenty-four, Victoria had revived a failing company with her skills.

Victoria believed in Starry's products, so she wasn't worried about the crisis.

As Wesley left, Victoria's phone rang. She answered, "What's up?"

"Need any help?" Alexander asked.

Victoria was surprised but smiled. "No, it's not a big problem."

"Alright, contact Dylan if you need anything. I have a meeting," Alexander said.

"Okay, got it. You go ahead," Victoria replied.

After hanging up, Victoria felt warm inside. Alexander's call made her happy.

Half an hour later...

Brady Brooks, the research lab manager, brought over all the test reports.

"Ms. Kennedy, every batch follows your formula and undergoes strict screening. No issues at all," Brady said confidently.

Victoria knew there were no problems. She had handpicked the research team.

"I know," she replied calmly.

Wesley and Brady were stunned. What did she mean by that?

"Are you saying the problem lies with the victims?" Wesley asked.

Brady caught on. "Right, if it were internal, there'd be more victims, and it wouldn't be so sudden. Someone's framing us."

Victoria turned to Wesley. "What about the victims? Found them?"

An employee from the secretarial department walked in. "The people Wesley asked us to find are in the conference room."

Victoria pondered for a moment before saying, "Let's go meet these brainless ones."

In the conference room, five girls wearing masks were seated.

Victoria's powerful presence made the girls uneasy as soon as she entered.

"Let me introduce myself. I'm Victoria, CEO of Horizon Group."

She sat opposite the five, with Wesley, Brady, and the secretary, Lenora Gray, standing behind her.

The girls were surprised to see the CEO was a woman, and a beautiful one at that. But her presence was intimidating.

A short-haired girl stood up. "Your product caused severe allergic reactions. We need compensation."

The others chimed in, "Yeah, compensate us. We used your perfume and now we're swollen."

They took off their masks and rolled up their sleeves. It looked bad.

But Victoria and her team stayed silent, making the girls nervous.

"Why aren't you saying anything?" one of them asked, trembling.

Victoria gave a cold smile. "Just waiting for you to finish. Are you done?"

"We're done."

"Are you sure?" Victoria squinted her eyes.

The girls felt terrified. Victoria was beautiful but cold-blooded, her gaze icy.

Victoria leaned back, crossed her legs, and tapped the table with her fingers, the rhythm matching the girls' nervous heartbeats.

She stared at them, her lips slightly curved. 'So easily scared.'

Her cold voice broke the silence. "Alright, since you're done, it's my turn."

She glanced at them and slowly said, "Do you want to resolve this here, or at the police station?"

The girls looked at her, their eyes full of fear and confusion.
