Chapter 389 Not Worthy of My Jealousy
Nathan's Room.
"Have they left?" Nathan lay on the bed, his eyes barely open, cautiously asking.
Micah replied, "Nathan, they've left. Don't worry."
Suddenly, the previously weak and pale Nathan, who had difficulty moving, swiftly sat up on his own.
He didn't look like a "fall" patient at all.
Butler Micah and John, standing nearby, didn't know what to say. What a mischievous old man.
Micah stepped forward to support him, saying, "Be careful, your leg is still in a cast."
To make it look real and not give away the act, Nathan's leg was indeed in a real cast.
Nathan was determined to let the couple stay here.
"Mr. Nathan Howard, Mr. Alexander Howard and Mrs. Victoria Howard have a yard here, don't they? You could just call them back to stay. Why go through all this trouble?" John asked, puzzled.
Nathan sighed and said energetically, "I would call them, but they don't want to stay here. They'd probably come back to Serenity Grove Manor in a day or two! I need to find a reason to make them stay longer."
Living Room.
Alexander and his wife exchanged a glance but said nothing.
Cynthia received a phone call and handed Alaric to Victoria for a moment.
Preston and Saskia stayed for a while and then returned to their own yard.
With Micah and John watching, they felt at ease.
Victoria held Alaric in her arms, and Alexander could only watch Alaric sitting in Victoria's lap without being able to move him.
Victoria really liked Alaric.
Alaric was tender and chubby, extremely adorable.
Victoria's favorite thing was to pinch his cheeks.
"Are you and Alexander going to stay at home?" Alaric blinked his big round eyes and asked her with a childish voice.
Victoria was slightly surprised and poked his chubby cheek with her finger. "How do you know?"
Alaric didn't hide anything. "I heard Grandpa and Saskia talking about it."
Victoria smiled gently and asked, "What else did you hear?"
Alaric tilted his little head, thinking seriously, but all he could think of was food.
He pouted. "I'm hungry."
Victoria didn't expect him to say much. Seeing his somewhat pitiful expression, she smiled and had someone bring some fruit.
Alexander watched from the side. "Do you like children?"
Victoria admitted generously, "Yes." She thought for a moment and added, "I never thought kids could be so cute and fun."
She turned to him and asked, "Don't you like them?"
"I do, but," his deep eyes sparkled, and a smile played on his lips, "I only like the children you give birth to."
She raised an eyebrow and chuckled. "Really?" Then she smirked mischievously. "The children I give birth to? Does that mean it doesn't matter who I have them with?"
Alexander was momentarily taken aback, the spark in his eyes fading instantly. He narrowed his eyes, his expression turning serious and a bit menacing. "Who else do you plan on having children with, if not me?"
She teased, "Why don't you guess?"
"Alan? Or Ellington?" Alexander could only come up with these two names.
After all, there were indeed very few men around her. Actually, there were many, but none of them were significant.
"How do you know about Ellington?" Victoria looked at him in surprise.
"You've been to Seattle so many times. If I didn't know, would I only find out about him after losing my wife?" he said gloomily.
Victoria was too outstanding, and the people she knew were not ordinary.
Fortunately, he was more capable and excellent than those people, and only he could match her.
With him around, others could only step aside.
Seeing his gloomy expression, Victoria leaned in, her clear eyes staring at him. "Jealous?"
Alexander glanced at her and chuckled. "Impossible! They don't deserve my jealousy."
She didn't believe him. "Really? You admitted it before; why are you shy now?"
She muttered, then looked at Alaric sitting in her lap. "You were even jealous of him before."
Alexander remained silent.
Alaric, a bit confused, blinked his big bright eyes and asked, "What is jealousy?"
Victoria smiled. "You should ask Alexander."
Alaric obediently looked at Alexander and asked, "What is jealousy?"
Alexander coldly replied, "You'll understand when you grow up."
4 PM.
Landon had just returned to the country, coming out of the airport.
Three days ago, he had gone abroad to avoid Helen and wandered around for a few days.
"Mr. Howard, where would you like to go?" the driver asked.
Landon thought for a moment. "Let's go to Howard Villa."
The driver replied, "Got it."
