Chapter 388 What's an 'Uncle'?

Saskia felt this was a bit sketchy and might offend Alexander and Victoria. She was starting to regret teaming up with Nathan.

"Do you still want to have grandchildren?" Nathan snorted.

Saskia remained silent.

Of course, she did. At her age, several of her good friends were already grandmothers.

And her?

Her son was married, but who knew when she would have grandchildren.

Standing nearby, Preston watched them talk, but he couldn't get a word in.

Cynthia, holding Alaric, chimed in, "I think we should let Alexander and Victoria handle this naturally."

Nathan glared at her and said irritably, "What do you know? Do you understand my desire to be a great-grandfather? Do you understand Saskia's feelings about wanting to be a grandmother?"

Cynthia fell silent after being scolded.

"Alright, you're right," she said. "But I also want to see Alexander and Victoria's child soon."

She looked at Alaric and pinched his chubby cheek. "Alaric, you also want to be an uncle, right?"

Alaric blinked his big round eyes at his mother and asked in his childish voice, "Mommy, what's an 'uncle'? Can I eat it?"

"You little one, are you hungry again?"

Alaric thought for a moment and nodded.

Outside Howard Villa.

A black G-Wagon and a black Maybach arrived almost simultaneously.

Alexander got out of the car, and so did she.

Alexander's first reaction upon seeing her was to hug her and comfort her, "Don't worry, Grandpa will be fine. The doctor has already checked him, and the fall wasn't serious."

She buried her head in his neck, sniffled, and responded, "Okay."

As soon as they arrived, someone immediately reported to Nathan.

Then, the couple quickened their pace towards Nathan's yard.

In the hall, Cynthia and Alaric were sitting.

"Cynthia." They called out in unison.

Alaric saw them and showed his little white teeth, calling out to them adorably.

Victoria couldn't ignore him and smiled back at him.

Alexander looked at Cynthia and asked, "How is Grandpa doing?"

This question stumped Cynthia; she didn't know how to answer.

But she kept a straight face and said, "Go upstairs and see for yourself. Your parents are there, and so is the family doctor, John Williams. Alaric was too noisy upstairs, so I brought him down."

The couple hurried upstairs.

Nathan was lying weakly on the bed, with a cast on his leg.

"Dad, Alexander and Victoria are here to see you," Saskia called out from Nathan's bedside, waking him up.

He slowly opened his eyes.

When they came up, they saw Nathan's pale face, and he looked very weak.

They spoke a few words to Nathan, but he seemed listless and in poor spirits.

"Dr. Williams, how is my grandfather's injury?" Alexander asked seriously, his handsome face tensed.

John, adhering to the principle of a well-intentioned lie, said earnestly, "Mr. Alexander Howard, Mr. Nathan Howard's fall injured his bones. It will take a long time to recover from such an injury, especially given his age. The fall probably scared him, and he doesn't want to go to the hospital, so he has to rest at home."

"Also, being at home, a familiar environment, is beneficial for his physical and mental health."

"As family members, you should spend more time with him to help him get over the trauma of the fall."

Saskia agreed, "Dr. Williams is right. You two should stay here for a while and keep him company."

They didn't suspect anything and agreed.

They stayed with Nathan for a while longer before Saskia sent them away, saying Nathan needed to rest.

"Mom, where's Landon? Why haven't I seen him?" Victoria asked Saskia as soon as she came out.

"He has something to do and will be back later," Saskia said. "Nathan is more concerned about you two. It doesn't matter if Landon comes back or not."

At this moment, Landon didn't even know about Nathan's "fall"!

Saskia hadn't told him at all.
