Chapter 346 Commissioned to Find Someone

"My team found traces of human activity on three islands. They're not connected; there's a pattern, with each island separated by another. We still can't figure out where their actual base is," Ellington said.

Victoria listened, her eyebrows slightly furrowed in deep thought. "Something is off," she said. Ellington looked at her with a puzzled expression.

Victoria raised her eyes to look at him. "Let me ask you, if it were you, would you leave such obvious traces on the island?"

The 103 organization was known for its brutality and mystery. They wouldn't have made such a basic mistake if they wanted to remain unchallenged and make a comeback.

Ellington squinted slightly. "So, you're saying they're trying to mislead us?"

Victoria replied, "I don't know if it's a diversion, but they're definitely not on those three islands."

She gave him a look filled with doubt, as if to say, "Are you even thinking?"

Ellington had nothing to say. He wasn't the type to think about such counterintuitive things. Besides, he didn't really want to deal with this; if it weren't for her request, he wouldn't have bothered.

He shrugged and said, "Fine, I'll have them recheck and get back to you as soon as possible."

Victoria really wondered what he was here for today.

"You didn't come here just to tell me about this inconclusive matter, did you?" she squinted at Ellington.

Ellington reached into his pocket, slightly clenched his fist, and coughed lightly. "Not exactly, there is something else."

Noticing that Ellington's face looked a bit serious, Victoria asked, "What is it?"

"I have to go out of town," Ellington said, "so I'm here to say goodbye."

"Where to?" she asked.

Ellington didn't answer her, instead, he said, "I'll leave the 103 matter to Sophia. If anything comes up, contact her. She'll inform you immediately if there's any news."

Victoria asked again, "Tell me, where are you going?"

Ellington remained silent.

Then she said, "You have to give me a general location, otherwise, where will Sophia and I go to collect the body?"

Ellington was helpless. "Can't you wish me well for once?"

Victoria retorted, "You know my temper."

If Ellington wanted to hide his location, it wouldn't be easy for anyone to find him, but Victoria had her ways, though it would take some time.

But now that he was right in front of her, Victoria had no reason not to ask him directly.

After a while, Ellington gave in; he really couldn't win against her. "Ghostly Mist Forest, on a mission to find someone."

Victoria responded, "Well, that's convenient. No need to collect your body; that place is perfect for eternal rest."

Finally, before the bodyguards returned, Victoria directly kicked Ellington out.

As soon as Ellington left, she made a phone call. "Thomas, get me an updated map of Ghostly Mist Forest. I'm not going, just bored and want to study it."

Thomas replied, "Vicky, come on, be straight with me—are you really not going?"

Victoria retorted, "Is my word that untrustworthy?"

Thomas directly exposed her, "You have a history."

She was quite helpless. "Thomas, you've remembered that for years. Can't you let it go?"

Thomas said, "When it concerns your life, how can I forget?"

"I've been there once. Why would I go again? Plus, with the way I am now, I can't go."

Thomas keenly caught the underlying message. "You're injured?"

This left Victoria speechless; how could he guess that?

Victoria originally wanted to say she was about to have her wedding ceremony and had no time to go to Ghostly Mist Forest, but she stayed silent for a few seconds, not answering.

Thomas directly said, "You tell me, or I'll have someone investigate!"

Victoria thought it best to come clean.

After she finished, a voice roared from the other end, "Victoria, you have a clotting disorder. How dare you get injured! You said you'd go back to run the company peacefully—no fighting, no dangerous activities! Do you think your life is too long, or you have too much blood?"

Victoria listened to the roaring on the other end, covered her face, and said nothing.

After a long time, when Thomas stopped, she said, "I'm fine now, aren't I?"

"So, you're saying I only get to know when something actually happens to you?" Thomas shot back.

When Betty walked in and saw Thomas's unusually serious and angry expression, she asked, "Mr. Taylor, what's wrong?"

Thomas coldly instructed, "Get everything ready; I need to make a trip to Rihegde."
