Chapter 65 Alexander Shows His Attitude

After lunch, Alexander and Victoria took Thalia back. As they were leaving Harmonious Convalesce Court, Victoria got a call from Lila, who was crying and barely making sense. They quickly headed to her location.

In the car, Victoria was tense and worried. Alexander tried to comfort her while speeding up, saying, "Don't worry, it'll be okay." His presence helped her relax a bit.

They reached the Golden Crown Hotel in half an hour. As soon as the car stopped, Victoria rushed out, still in high heels. Alexander, worried she might twist her ankle, quickly caught up with her. "Take it easy, the hotel's secure. It'll be fine," he said, concerned.

When they got to the room Lila mentioned, Alexander signaled the manager to open the door. Victoria hurried inside, calling out for Lila. She found Lisa disheveled and hugging a pillow. Seeing Lila's red eyes, Victoria felt a mix of relief and heartache. She hugged Lila, comforting her, "It's okay, don't cry."

After a bit, Victoria asked what happened. Lila, sobbing, admitted, "I did it willingly." Both Victoria and Alexander, who was standing at the door, were stunned. Lila explained she was upset because the guy ran off without taking responsibility.

Victoria felt a mix of relief and frustration. Lila continued, "He left me in pain and ran off. If I catch him, I'll kill him. The first time really hurts. I want to make him pay for the pain he caused!"

Victoria realized Lila was fine and didn't need to worry. Alexander, standing at the door, shook his head and went to the living room. The manager brought over the surveillance footage.

"Mr. Howard, here's the footage you requested," the manager said.

Lila, realizing Alexander was there, felt embarrassed. "So he heard everything I just said?" she asked Victoria, who nodded. Victoria coughed and said, "Don't worry about it. Just pretend you didn't know he was here."

‘Is she still my good friend? I'm not that carefree yet,’ Lila thought.

"By the way, you said you did it willingly. You must know the guy, right?" Victoria asked. "And didn't you go to a dating event with your mom last night?"

Victoria was puzzled. How could Lila end up having sex with a guy on her first blind date?

"I sneaked out later and had some drinks at the bar on the first floor of the Golden Crown Hotel," Lila admitted, looking a bit guilty. "You know the guy too."

"What?" Victoria's eyes widened. What did she mean by that?

Her mind raced. She didn't know many men, and those she did know couldn't possibly be in Rihegde.

"Who?" Victoria squinted and asked.

In the living room, Alexander was sitting on the sofa, waiting. When Victoria came out, he saw the murderous look in her eyes.

"What's wrong?" Alexander asked, confused. This had nothing to do with him, right? Why did Victoria seem so hostile?

Victoria stood in front of him and said coldly, "Call Owen back!"

Alexander hesitated for a second, then obediently took out his phone and handed it to her. "The password is your birthday," he said gently.

Victoria looked at the phone and said, "You call."

Alexander quickly unlocked the phone, dialed Owen's number, and when it connected, he said coldly, "You have half an hour to get to room 6870 at the Golden Crown Hotel!" Then he hung up.

"Done." He looked up at Victoria and smiled warmly, a complete contrast to his earlier demeanor.

Alexander put away his phone, then pulled her hand, easily bringing her to the seat next to him.

"You're not going to tell me that the person who bullied Lila is Owen," he said, more as a statement than a question.

Victoria looked at him and said, "I didn't think you were that sharp."

Alexander was silent. Why did he feel Victoria was being sarcastic?

Alexander made his stance clear. "This is Owen's doing; it has nothing to do with me. You can punish him however you want. I won't interfere or ask questions."

If Owen knew Alexander didn't defend him but threw him under the bus, he'd probably feel very wronged, considering how many times he had helped Alexander heal.

Victoria's clear eyes stared at him. She didn't expect Alexander to ignore his friend to protect her, but it made her feel warm inside. He really gave her the sense of security she wanted.

"What if I lose control and cripple him?" Victoria's eyes flashed with a strange light. "After all, he's from one of the five major families, the Rodriguez family."

Alexander narrowed his eyes and said, "That's okay; I'm here. No one will dare touch you!"

Then he added nonchalantly, "Owen is a great doctor; he'll heal himself."

Victoria suddenly felt a bit sorry for Owen.

Lila, who had just changed her clothes, overheard this conversation. She quickly ran over, looking very reluctant, and shook her head at Victoria, saying, "Don't, honey. If you cripple him, you'll ruin my whole life."

Alexander was a bit displeased with how Lila addressed Victoria. He narrowed his eyes and stared at Lila.

Lila felt a chill down her spine for no reason.
