Chapter 303 Who Do You Think You Are
Victoria glanced at Landon, noticing the clear bandage on his forehead, the cut on his lip, and the scratches on his neck that looked like they came from a cat. Feeling a bit concerned, she figured she should check on him.
"Got into a fight?" she asked.
Before Landon could answer, Alexander's cold voice cut in, "Landon, don't you dare tell anyone you're my brother."
Landon looked at Alexander, confused. Victoria also stared at him, waiting for more, knowing he wasn't done.
Under their expectant gazes, Alexander lazily lifted his eyelids and said slowly, "You got hurt in a fight? And you have the nerve to come here? I don't have such a weak brother."
He shot Landon a disdainful look.
Feeling insulted, Landon stayed quiet for a moment, then pouted and said, "Alexander, aren't you going to ask who hit me?"
It was clear Alexander didn't care, but Victoria followed up. "Who was it?"
"Helen Hill!" Landon said through gritted teeth.
Victoria raised an eyebrow instantly. 'Who is Helen? A girl?' she wondered.
Landon then muttered to himself, "I didn't fight back because I don't believe in hitting her, but she hit me really hard!"
He then looked at Alexander and asked, "Alexander, it's not that I'm weak. If it were you, would you have fought back?"
Alexander, with his royal air and confidence, replied, "Do you think anyone would dare hit me?" He raised an eyebrow, his words dripping with self-assurance. "They can't even get close to me!"
Then he added, "Except for Victoria. She can hit me anytime, and I won't fight back."
Landon fell silent again; he shouldn't have asked that question. He should have known that Alexander wouldn't give anyone the chance to hit him.
Alexander didn't waste any more words on Landon. He went upstairs to change clothes and then headed straight to the kitchen.
Landon's eyes lit up as he watched Alexander walk to the kitchen. It seemed that getting beaten up tonight was worth it. Alexander was actually going to cook to comfort him. He was so touched.
Alexander, busy in the kitchen, had no idea what Landon was imagining. Victoria saw everything clearly. To avoid hurting Landon's feelings, she said nothing and quietly picked up a book to read.
When it was time to eat, Landon saw Alexander bring out only two plates of black pepper beef pasta and said, "Alexander, I'll get my own."
Alexander glanced at him and said calmly, "You didn't tell me you were staying for dinner."
So, Alexander didn't cook for Landon.
Landon, who was about to step forward, stopped instantly. He looked shocked and hurt. "Alexander, didn't you cook because of me?"
Alexander laughed like he had heard the biggest joke. "Who do you think you are?"
"Did you get hit so hard you lost your mind?" Alexander said bluntly. "Have Dylan take you to Owen for a brain scan later!"
Landon felt heartbroken. "Alexander, are you really my brother?"
"What do you think? Do you think you'd still be standing here otherwise?" Alexander replied, his eyes locking onto him. In short, he had already fulfilled his brotherly duty.
Suddenly, Landon felt even more shattered. He pouted and asked, "Alexander, you just broke my heart into a million pieces!"
Alexander replied, "If you don't want to be barred from my house, shut your mouth!"
Landon said, "Then what do I eat? I haven't eaten anything since noon."
However, Alexander was unmoved. When Victoria came in, she saw Landon pestering Molly to make him something to eat.
Victoria asked, "Didn't you make him anything?"
Alexander replied righteously, "He won't starve!"
Landon looked so pitiful.
The next day, an unusual trending topic emerged. This time, it wasn't about celebrities from the entertainment industry or some rich family drama. It was an article posted by a netizen as a friend of the victim.
The gist of it was: A woman was harassed by a man in a bar and almost assaulted. Afterward, the man threatened the woman to keep quiet. Outraged upon learning this, the woman's friend decided to expose the incident to seek justice for her.
The news drew a lot of attention, and the man faced widespread condemnation. However, the most notable part was the photo that was exposed. The man's face was magnified, while the woman's face was heavily pixelated.
Some netizens began to defend the man because of his handsome appearance.
"Helen, something's not right," said the victim's friend, forcefully pulling her up and urging her to check the comments.
After reading, Helen showed little emotional fluctuation, just sighed and said, "I told you this wouldn't work."
With Landon's face, how could anyone associate him with harassment?
"These netizens are saying I did it for attention and that I wronged an innocent person. I..." Helen's friend said.
Helen interrupted, "They're not wrong."
Her friend fell silent.
