Chapter 67 Let's Call It This from Now On

Not far off, Dylan and Marcus, who had been tailing them, saw the scene and quickly turned away.

"Never thought Mr. Howard had a romantic side," Dylan said, arms crossed, clearly impressed.

Marcus nodded, "Who would've guessed."

Dylan added, "Mr. Howard's given all his gentleness, romance, and even his limits to Mrs. Howard."

"When did he set up all these flowers? Why didn't I know? Who did he get to do this?" Dylan wondered, frowning. Usually, Alexander kept him in the loop on everything.

Marcus smirked, "Guess you're not that important anymore."

Dylan shot back, "You're not doing any better."

Marcus went quiet.

Suddenly, a familiar voice came from behind. "What are you two whispering about?"

They turned and said in unison, "Quentin? What are you doing here?"

Quentin Wood, one of Alexander's four assistants, had been sent abroad three months ago.

"Mr. Howard called me back two weeks ago," Quentin said, pointing to the flowers. "He had me airlift these flowers from abroad."

Dylan and Marcus finally understood.

"By the way, Mr. Howard brought a woman here. What's the deal? Who is she? Did he plant all these flowers for her?" Quentin asked, clearly puzzled.

When Alexander first asked him to plant the blue flowers, Quentin found it odd but didn't question it.

Dylan and Marcus looked at him like he was an idiot. "Didn't you just see them kissing?" Dylan snapped.

Quentin nodded, "Yeah, which made me even more curious."

"Then why are you still asking!" Dylan rolled his eyes.

Marcus sighed, "God gave you brains but left out common sense. That figures."

Dylan added, "That's Mrs. Howard!"

Alexander held Victoria's hand and walked into the flower field.

Victoria looked at the estate, a two-story villa surrounded by blue flowers. In the yard, there was a ginkgo tree with a swing made of vines and a nearby pavilion. She had always wanted to swing under a tree as a child, but no one ever joined her. After Esme passed away, no one paid attention to her.

Since Clara joined the Kennedy family, Victoria had seen Simon accompany Clara on the swing in the Kennedy backyard, while she could only watch. Whenever she asked Simon for anything, she got scolded.

Alexander noticed her staring at the swing under the ginkgo tree, and a flash of sadness crossed his eyes. He knew everything about her except for those four years when she vanished.

Back then, he was young and focused on inheriting the Howard family, constantly strengthening himself. The family's side branches were always watching, so he couldn't show any weakness or openly protect her.

When he finally gained power, she disappeared for four years.

In the two years after her return, internal issues in the Howard family kept him busy. He had to sort things out before he could approach her. But before he could make plans, they met again.

"Want me to push you on the swing?" Alexander's warm voice broke through her thoughts.

"Sure."

Soon, the yard was filled with joyful laughter.

Victoria, smiling brightly, held onto the swing's vines, gently swaying back and forth, occasionally laughing out loud.

Alexander stood behind her like a knight, his eyes filled with a loving smile as he watched her. His deep eyes were full of satisfaction, as if he had the whole world.

To him, Victoria was his world. Her happiness was his happiness.

He would protect her and shower her with all his love.

"Alexander, can you push me higher?" Victoria called out while swinging.

"Of course," he replied immediately.

In that moment, she seemed completely carefree, playing joyfully like a child, truly enjoying herself.

Victoria was fully immersed in the thrill and comfort of swinging. So this is what it feels like, she thought.

They stayed until after four in the afternoon before heading back.

In the car, Victoria still wore a happy smile.

"Thanks, I had a great time today," she said, glancing at Alexander, who was focused on driving. His side profile was perfect.

Alexander kept his eyes on the road and asked softly, "Thank who?"

Victoria was slightly taken aback, then replied seriously, "You."

"Who am I?" he continued.

"Alexander," she answered without hesitation.

"And who is Alexander to you?" he pressed.

Victoria was puzzled. What else could he be?

Tentatively, she said, "Hubby?"

Hearing this, Alexander's lips curved into a smile. "Good, call me that from now on, okay?"

Victoria fell silent. He was really pushing her to change how she addressed him.

"Has anyone ever told you not to be too impatient?" she asked.

Alexander replied confidently, "We're already legally married." When the light turned red, he turned to her, his eyes teasing yet earnest. "Besides, you kissed me first."

Her mind flashed back to their passionate kiss in the flower field, making her feel shy. She avoided his gaze and tried to change the subject. "There will be many elders tonight. Do I need to prepare some gifts?"

Alexander answered seriously, "No need, the Howard family gives them enough money."

"Alright then," she said.

"You haven't said yes to my request," Alexander squinted at her, not letting it go.

Feeling nervous under his gaze, Victoria finally relented. "I'll try to get used to it."

"Good, I'll give you a week. Otherwise, I have ways to make you get used to it," he said as the light turned green.

Victoria wasn't about to ask what those ways were.

When they returned to Howard Villa, it was close to six o'clock, an hour before the banquet started.

Luxury cars were parked outside the gates of Howard Villa.

Alexander's Maybach drove straight through the gates and parked inside.

"Mom, whose car is that? Are they crazy, driving straight into Howard Villa?"
