Chapter 201 Alexander is Angry!
Victoria rolled back into Serenity Grove Manor after snagging the surveillance footage Wesley had copied.
When Alexander strolled in at 7 PM, he only saw Landon chilling in the living room. "Where's Victoria?"
Landon was munching on a fruit platter Molly had whipped up. Just as he was about to pop a grape into his mouth, he heard Alexander's familiar voice from behind.
Holding the grape mid-air, he turned to face the ever-intimidating Alexander and said, "Victoria came back this afternoon, but I haven't seen her since."
Alexander shot him a cold look, basically saying, "Useless!"
Landon felt a bit miffed; he couldn't keep tabs on her 24/7.
Alexander headed upstairs to the master bedroom, but it was empty.
He dialed her number, and the ringtone echoed in the room.
He tried another number.
Meanwhile, over at the training ground on the west side of Serenity Grove Manor, Kimberly got a call from Alexander.
Alexander's icy voice cut through. "Where is she?"
Kimberly glanced at Victoria, who was going hard on the training field, her eyes widening with a mix of surprise and shock. "She's at the training ground."
In no time, Alexander showed up.
"Mr. Howard," Kimberly greeted him at the door.
Caesar, hanging nearby, barked twice but didn't move closer. It seemed to sense Alexander's bad mood and stood still, feeling a bit neglected since Victoria had come here to train instead of hanging out with it.
"How long has she been in there?" Alexander asked, his voice low.
"Almost four hours," Kimberly replied honestly.
Both Kimberly and Caesar watched as Alexander's lips pressed into a thin line, his vibe turning icy. "Why didn't you tell me sooner?"
Kimberly shivered at his cold tone, and Caesar whimpered in fear.
"Mrs. Howard told us not to bother you, so we didn't," Kimberly stammered.
Alexander snapped, "Nonsense! She's being reckless, and you're just going along with it!"
Alexander was about to step inside, but Kimberly reached out to stop him. Dylan and the others, who had just arrived, were stunned by Kimberly's guts to block Alexander.
Swallowing hard, Kimberly faced the grim Alexander, whose eyes were filled with a piercing coldness and dark shadows. She mustered the courage to say, "Mr. Howard, Mrs. Howard said you can't go in. She'll come out on her own."
Kimberly never thought she'd find herself doing something so nerve-wracking. She had no clue where she got the guts to stop Alexander. Back in the day, she wouldn't have done this even for a billion bucks.
After coming back in the afternoon, Victoria spent an hour in the study before heading to the west training ground. She found them all training and threw down an insane challenge: she wanted to fight everyone there, one by one, until someone could knock her out of the ring.
The west training ground had 260 people, all beefed-up bodyguards with muscles for days.
At first glance, she could be pegged as "beautiful," "slim, and tall." But standing in front of them, she looked tiny. Given her status, no one dared to spar with her seriously. They thought she was just messing around, so they humored her to kill some time.
But after three rounds, they realized something was up. She could easily kick a dude three times her weight out of the ring without even breaking a sweat.
Standing on the ring, she had this fierce vibe, her presence intimidating. The cold and terrifying aura she gave off was no less than Alexander's.
Looking down at the crowd below, her voice was as biting as a winter wind that stings their faces. "If you're hesitant even when facing me, what's the point of training you? I said earlier, treat me as a challenger, not as your boss's wife. If you keep thinking that way, you don't deserve to stay here. The greatest enemy is the fear within. This world is about survival of the fittest. To always live as the superior, you must shed your fears."
Victoria's words hit like a wake-up call in everyone's mind.
Though her words were chilling, they also fired everyone up. The righteous aura she exuded was rare for a woman. She wasn't someone who shopped and acted coy, nor did she marry rich dudes and spend her days shopping, playing cards, or having afternoon tea with friends.
She was different. In this moment, she exuded solemnity and awe, like the brightest moon in the night sky, lighting the way out of darkness for those around her. As Alexander walked down the long corridor, he occasionally heard cheers and shouts of encouragement.
Alexander's aura of chilling menace wrapped around him as he strode forward with a grim face and furrowed brows.
Kimberly and the others followed, gasping in shock, silently thinking that Alexander had never been this pissed before.
