Chapter 177 The Reason for the Fight

In the dressing room, Julia and Donna were chilling on opposite sofas.

Julia looked like she’d been through a tornado—swollen cheek, scratches all over, split lip, and hair like a bird's nest. Donna, on the other hand, was just rocking a slightly red cheek but still looked like she stepped out of a magazine—elegant, beautiful, and totally relaxed.

The difference was wild.

"Hey, Donna, put this ice on your face. It'll help with the pain," Assistant Shirley Wright, said, walking in with a piece of ice, her face all worried.

Julia's assistant was busy trying to patch Julia up.

The assistant was freaking out a bit; those scratches were no joke.

Who would've guessed that Donna, the queen of calm, had such a wild side? When she threw down, she was like a whole different person from the sweet, graceful Donna everyone thought they knew.

The crew was totally floored.

But a lot of folks started worrying about Donna. She was just a regular girl who won hearts with her acting chops and didn’t have some big-shot family backing her up.

Fan-wise, Donna was the queen, but family-wise, Julia had her beat. Julia was loaded and had connections, being related to Lucas and all.

Everyone knew Donna came from a regular family. Even though her agency was pretty powerful, it was nothing compared to the Tudor and Hughes families.

Just then, the dressing room door swung open.

Lila walked in, with Victoria right behind her.

"Ms. Scott, Ms. Kennedy, you're here," Shirley said, looking a bit relieved.

Lila had already heard outside that it was Julia who threw down with Donna. What a twist.

Seeing Julia looking like a hot mess actually made Lila pretty happy. Julia was usually so full of herself, and it was rare to see her get knocked down a peg. If she didn’t have to keep up her own image, Lila would've clapped right then and there.

Seeing Lila and Victoria, Donna straightened up. "Ms. Kennedy, Ms. Scott, sorry for the trouble."

Lila smiled at her. "No trouble at all. I'm just glad you're okay. If your face got messed up, I'd be really bummed."

Donna stayed quiet.

After all, Donna was one of Silver Screen Studios' stars.

Julia, who was getting the cold shoulder, was fuming. Her eyes were wide, looking pretty scary.

The assistant, who was up close treating Julia's wounds, got spooked and pressed too hard.

Julia yelped in pain and shoved the assistant to the ground.

"If you don't want your hand, I'll chop it off. Can't you be gentler? My face hurts, you idiot! If I get a scar, you're done!" Julia screamed at the assistant who was now on the floor.

"Julia, I didn't mean to," the assistant, a young woman who'd only been on the job for two months, said, terrified.

Julia was known for her bad temper and could blow up at any moment. Being her assistant was like signing up for a rollercoaster of tantrums, making it hard to keep anyone long-term.

If she didn’t need the money, she would've bailed ages ago.

"So it was Julia. Almost didn't recognize you without hearing that screechy voice of yours," Lila said, smirking like she just won the lottery.

"You..." Julia tried to snap back but winced, clutching her mouth.

Lila crossed her arms, looking like she was having the time of her life. "No fans, crappy acting, and a temper like a toddler."

Julia glared, teeth clenched. "Lila, who the hell are you talking about?"

Lila snorted. "Whoever's dumb enough to answer."

Julia went quiet for a sec.

"Listen, Donna hit me, and I ain't letting this slide!" Julia threatened.

Lila, not even a bit scared, shot back, "Oh yeah? What’re you gonna do about it?"

Thinking she had the upper hand, Julia puffed up. "Make her slap herself ten times and then kneel and apologize to me!"

Donna jumped in, "Julia, who do you think you are? A queen? You want me to kneel and apologize? Are you out of your mind? Who started the fight anyway? And you want me to slap myself ten times? You're not just crazy; you're delusional."

Donna usually kept her cool, but she wasn't about to take this lying down.

"You dare insult me? Donna, believe it or not, I'll have Lucas make sure you never act again!" Julia yelled, her voice rising.

Patrick, who'd been eavesdropping outside, burst in just in time to hear Donna's icy laugh. "You think I'm scared of you?"

Lila chimed in, "What a joke! Julia, you started it. Donna hitting you is self-defense at best. If we wanted to sue, you'd be toast."

Julia shot back, "You're all shameless sluts, just messing around with men!"

Lila looked genuinely confused. "What did you say? Messing around with men?"

She still had no clue why the fight started.

Julia clammed up, so Donna filled in the blanks.

The reason was simple. They weren't even in the same crew. Julia was there for a cameo and saw Donna and Harrington chatting 'intimately.' She hid and watched, couldn't hear a thing but saw enough to get mad.

After Harrington left, Julia stormed over and slapped Donna without a word.

Donna was stunned, and then Julia started screaming, "You slut, you're shameless, messing around with Harrington! I'll beat you to death!"

Donna wasn't about to take that and fought back. The ruckus drew a crowd.

When people showed up, they saw Julia pinned to the ground, with Donna on top, yanking her hair with one hand and slapping her with the other. It looked like she was beating up a mistress.

After hearing this, Lila was momentarily stunned. She turned to Donna with a curious look. "Are you dating Harrington?"

Donna was stunned.

Victoria stayed silent.

Shirley was gobsmacked.

Patrick thought, 'How come I don't know Donna and Harrington are dating? They’ve had zero interaction before this gig.'
