Chapter 478 Please Come as a Guest

In the villa's grand hall, Miguel sat arrogantly in the main chair.

Victoria recognized him instantly, mainly because of the distinctive scar near his eye.

"Victoria, it's been a while," Miguel greeted with a smirk, then quickly corrected himself. "No, I should say Mrs. Howard now."

His exaggerated expressions didn't interest Victoria, but his use of her married name confirmed he knew about Alexander.

She frowned slightly but remained silent as Kimberly and Winter positioned themselves protectively on either side of her.

Miguel stood and walked a few steps closer, studying Victoria with an enigmatic smile. "Five years, and Victoria's all grown up and married—and not to just anyone. Impressive."

His tone shifted abruptly. "Though Ronnie must be heartbroken. He's been obsessing over you for ages."

She narrowed her eyes and gave him a cold glance. "Cut the small talk. Why did you bring me here?"

Miguel regarded her with a mixture of admiration and respect. Beyond her beauty, he recognized her capability and courage—qualities that had caused the 103 Organization to fail against her twice. Even the notoriously unstable Ronnie had been defeated by her.

He tilted his head with an exaggerated shrug. "Nothing special. Just inviting you over as my guest."

Victoria didn't believe him for a second.

Sure enough, he continued, "And to make a deal with Mr. Howard. Your life should be worth more than Ronnie's, right?" His smile turned sinister.

Meanwhile, Marcus received a message and handed his phone to Alexander with a grave expression. "Mr. Howard, they want to exchange Ronnie for Mrs. Howard. They're requesting you deliver him personally."

Alexander's voice was dangerously low as he commanded, "Tell Gideon to bring him out."

Marcus acknowledged and immediately contacted Gideon.

At eight that evening at Nebula Port—Kingdom of Serenia's largest private yacht harbor—a black sedan pulled into the dock.

Marcus killed the engine as the headlights illuminated three tall bodyguards in black standing ahead.

"Get out," Alexander said emotionlessly from the passenger seat.

In the back sat Ronnie, barely recognizable and covered in wounds. Under normal circumstances, Alexander wouldn't have shared a vehicle with him, but Victoria's safety changed everything.

Alexander exited first. One of the bodyguards approached, saying, "Mr. Howard, your wife is waiting on the yacht. Follow me."

Alexander surveyed them with cold eyes but remained silent as Marcus followed with Ronnie.

Aboard the three-deck yacht, Miguel and Victoria stood on the deck facing Alexander and his group as they boarded.

The couple exchanged a glance, and Alexander visibly relaxed seeing she was unharmed.

He then turned to Miguel. "I've brought who you wanted. Release my wife."

Marcus pushed Ronnie forward a few steps.

This was Victoria's first glimpse of Ronnie since that day. She'd been so focused on Alexander that she barely recognized the filthy, blood-crusted, disheveled man before her.

Miguel feigned shock with obvious schadenfreude. "Is that really Ronnie? He looks terrible!"

Ronnie's green eyes fixed on Miguel. Alexander had told him in the car that Miguel wanted to exchange Victoria for him, but Ronnie knew Miguel had no genuine interest in saving him—he only wanted the location of the gold mine. Of course, Ronnie hadn't shared this with Alexander.

When he saw Victoria, however, he noticeably avoided her gaze.

Miguel smiled smoothly. "No need to rush, Mr. Howard. Since you're here, why don't we play a little game? Otherwise, this would all be so boring."
