Chapter 357 Caleb, You Have Such a Unique Perspective

Caleb was stunned for a few seconds.

Suddenly, Caleb heard Victoria in the back seat laugh, and happened to catch a glimpse of Marcus in the driver's seat trying to suppress a smile.

Caleb retorted, "I was just trying to lighten the mood!"

Alexander just ignored him.

Victoria thought Caleb and Landon were quite a match; their personalities and incessant chatter were remarkably similar.

Even if no one listened, he always had an endless stream of things to say.

"By the way, Alexander, I got news this morning that the head of Heaven's Net has arrived in Rihegde." Caleb finally said something that resonated with the two of them.

Alexander turned his gaze to him, and Victoria subtly shifted her gaze from the night view outside the car window.

"As far as I know, the head of Heaven's Net never leaves the base, and this is his first time in Rihegde." Caleb analyzed, "Since he came in person, it must be something important."

But Caleb was puzzled. "Rihegde has been quite peaceful recently, nothing has happened. Why is he here?"

If something had happened, they would definitely know.

Then he murmured, "He can't be here to gather intelligence personally, right? Could it be that Heaven's Net went bankrupt and can't even afford subordinates?"

Marcus coughed lightly. "Caleb, you have such a unique perspective."

Caleb looked at Alexander. "Alexander, you figure it out—why is he here?"

Alexander said expressionlessly, "Not interested," as he gently squeezed Victoria's soft hand beside him.

Caleb then looked at Victoria. "Alright then. Victoria, what do you think?"

Victoria coughed lightly. "I don't know him."

The couple's tone was exactly the same.

"Didn't you hire him to repair the chip before? You spent so much money and got nothing useful. He was clearly trying to scam you. Don't you want to confront him?" Caleb said to Alexander.

Upon hearing this, Victoria immediately turned her head to Alexander beside her. "How much money did you spend?"

Thinking Victoria was distressed about the money, Caleb explained, "Victoria, don't worry about the money. Alexander's rich—he doesn't care. It's about a billion dollars, give or take."

Victoria thought to herself, 'So he really does see me as important. But Thomas had never mentioned this to me before.' She subtly furrowed her brow, making even Alexander think she was upset about the money he spent.

"Feeling bad about it?" Alexander squeezed her thumb and asked.

Victoria went along with their misunderstanding. "A billion dollars, Alexander. Do you think it's just ten thousand? A hundred thousand?"

Caleb clicked his tongue. "Victoria, Alexander can earn it back with just one contract."

Victoria smirked and turned to him. "Then Caleb, why don't you reimburse us?"

Caleb instantly shut up, thinking, 'How could that be!'

Caleb forced a smile. "What a joke! I don't have that kind of money."

Victoria laughed. "So you're that broke, huh? Can't even come up with a billion dollars."

She turned to Alexander. "Honey, do you want to help Caleb out?"

Alexander replied, "No need, he won't starve."

Victoria added, "Or is Caleb just stingy? Can't even reimburse a decent amount of money?"

Caleb was speechless. Then he said, "You two are cuter when you don't speak."

At this moment, Thomas was in the presidential suite of the Golden Crown Hotel in Rihegde.

Betty, tall and wearing a purple coat and black high-heeled ankle boots, walked in. She said to Thomas, "Ms. Kennedy has been discharged and returned to Serenity Grove Manor."

Betty looked at Thomas lying on the bed with his eyes closed, one hand under his head, lying comfortably and leisurely.

But at this moment, Thomas's face showed exhaustion, he hadn't slept for four nights.

Five days ago, he was supposed to come to Rihegde, but received a message halfway.

Under Betty's persuasion, Thomas had to abandon his trip to Rihegde and return to the Taylor family to resolve some tricky issues, which took several days.

Thomas reached out and pinched his brow, asked with his eyes closed, "How is Victoria? And how did she get injured?"

Betty began to report, "Ms. Kennedy is recovering well. I heard she was stabilized in the operating room thanks to the timely delivery of blood."

After hearing this, Thomas frowned with his eyes closed and said in a hoarse voice from lack of rest, "She's still as bold as ever."

Betty replied, "She hasn't changed a bit; there's nothing she won't dare to do, and nothing she can't handle."

This was Victoria; she always had the ability to turn the tide.

This was also why Betty always thought Victoria was a freak. She always gave off an unreal feeling. No matter how tricky the issue, she always had a way to solve it.

If someone else had gone through what Victoria had, Betty was sure they wouldn't have survived.

"Your opinion of her is pretty high," Thomas scoffed. "Victoria thinks she's some kind of phoenix, always rising from the ashes. But don't forget, everyone makes mistakes eventually."

Betty concluded, "Her biggest strength is she's fearless."

Thomas didn't refute this time; it was indeed so. While most people fear death due to their attachments in this world, Victoria claimed she had none. When facing death or threats to her life, she always appeared indifferent and unconcerned.

This fearlessness made her resilient in any predicament and became her most powerful mental weapon.

After a long time, Thomas said, "Since Victoria is fine, let me sleep for a while, then I'll go find her."

Betty replied, "Okay." She gently closed the door, and then returned to her own room.

Serenity Grove Manor was bustling with activity as Sawyer received a call from Alexander, informing him that Victoria would be back tonight. He immediately had the entire house cleaned from top to bottom to welcome her safe return.

Molly was also busy in the kitchen all afternoon, making many of Victoria's favorite dishes and desserts.

Lila was visiting Serenity Grove Manor for the first time, she dragged Owen to take a walk, but after half a lap, she couldn't go on.
