Chapter 176 An Incident Occurs
Meanwhile, at the Cleveland Clinic, not long after Lucas left, members of the Kennedy family arrived and learned the truth from Alfonso.
Oliver was so angry that he almost ended up hospitalized as well.
He had to plead with the police to leave the Kennedy family a shred of dignity and not reveal the truth.
He never imagined Clara would do something so absurd and ridiculous.
Upon discovering that the Howard family was behind Victoria, he deeply regretted and abandoned seeking the truth. He came to the hospital to persuade Clara, but the so-called truth would be so outrageous.
In a fit of rage, he scolded Clara and Elodie in the ward before leaving.
In the ward, only the lonely and terrified Clara and Elodie were left.
They were reaping what they had sown.
At Serenity Grove Manor, Victoria didn't expect that today's hotly debated video online wasn't taken down by Alexander but by Todd Romero.
"Didn't expect you have time to browse entertainment gossip," Victoria said calmly.
Todd chuckled, "No, actually, I'm quite busy. If I were free, I wouldn't be calling you at this hour. I just happened to see it online and had someone take it down."
Victoria didn't respond, so Todd continued, "When are you coming back to train those people, or at least come back to strengthen the security system?"
The last sentence sounded a bit humble, mainly because Victoria had been gone for a year without showing her face or letting anyone visit her. No one knew where she picked up such a strange habit.
Victoria rubbed her temples and then said softly, "I got it."
Todd was silent for a moment.
It seemed like an answer, but also not.
Then she continued, "I'll find some time to come back after I'm done with the International Biomedical Academic Conference."
Todd was overjoyed, "Alright, no problem."
As long as she was willing to come back, it didn't matter what she was busy with.
After Victoria hung up the phone, she heard the sound of rain outside. She got up and walked to the floor-to-ceiling window. The rain was heavy and urgent.
The raindrops were like transparent beads, some embracing the flowers and plants in the yard, while others collided with the ground, forming a short-lived, crystal-clear splash.
Some dirt outside the yard was washed clean by the rain, but some people's hearts could never be cleansed, remaining dark and possibly becoming even worse.
Victoria woke up late today. Just as she reached the company elevator, she saw Lila rushing out of the adjacent elevator with a worried look on her face.
"Lila, where are you rushing off to?" Victoria asked.
Lila looked up at the familiar voice. "Oh, it's you, dear." She sighed with a frown, "I just got a call saying one of our artists got into a fight with another crew's artist. I'm heading over there."
Victoria was slightly stunned. A fight?
She said, "I'll go with you."
Lila said, "No, don't you have other things to do later?"
Victoria said, "It's fine. I have no plans for the morning."
So, the two of them headed to the set together.
The director and staff of the set all knew Lila; she often visited the set. As soon as she arrived, a staff member called out, "Ms. Scott is here."
"What happened?" Lila immediately asked the company's agent, Patrick Patterson, "Why did they fight? What happened exactly?"
Patrick replied, "Donna is fine; just got slapped a few times, but..."
Seeing him hesitate, Lila narrowed her eyes. "But what?"
Patrick coughed lightly with his fist to his mouth. "The other side is in pretty bad shape."
Lila was speechless.
So, her earlier worry was for nothing.
Patrick didn't expect that Donna Romero, who usually seemed gentle and soft, would be so fierce in a fight. It was shocking.
If this spread, her ladylike image from the past few years would be ruined.
