Chapter 331 Because He's Afraid of Dogs

Christopher wasn't dumb. The second Alexander spoke, he got the gist, but he couldn't believe it.

Seeing Christopher looking so pitiful, Gideon decided to play the nice guy and explained, "We intercepted your people halfway. The guy who reported to you? Yeah, he's one of mine."

"How else would we lure you out?" Gideon added with a smirk. Christopher's face twisted like he'd just swallowed a bug.

Alexander's eyes were sharp, his voice icy. "You were useful before, but you crossed the line by messing with someone you shouldn't have. We don't need you anymore."

Before Christopher could say anything, Alexander sneered, "Did you really think you hid your actions well? I've known for ages you're with the Howard family. If you weren't useful, do you think you'd still be breathing?"

Alexander never regretted his actions, but this time, he did. It was his fault Christopher got the chance to hurt his loved ones.

Christopher frowned, staring at Alexander, but he wasn't scared. He still had a card to play, and he was sure Alexander wouldn't dare touch him. "Alexander, you don't dare touch me," Christopher said arrogantly, grinning.

Alexander stepped closer, his face cold, lips curling into a mocking smile. "Do you really think they'll keep you safe?"

Christopher frowned again, sensing Alexander knew more than he let on. Before he could speak, Alexander grabbed his throat. The grip was so strong it felt like his neck would snap.

"Don't kid yourself. They won't protect you," Alexander said coldly. "And if Keith finds out the son he's raised for over twenty years isn't his, what do you think he'll do to you?"

Christopher, choking, turned red. His hands and feet were tied, making it impossible to struggle. He was completely helpless, like a lamb to the slaughter.

Keith wasn't a kind man, and he wouldn't overlook the fact that Christopher wasn't his biological son, despite their twenty-plus years together. In fact, Keith would be even more ruthless. Not only Christopher, but even his mother wouldn't be spared.

Alexander knew Christopher understood Keith well, having been his son for over twenty years. So, once Keith knew the truth, Christopher was as good as dead.

Just when Christopher thought he would suffocate, Alexander let go. Christopher coughed violently, gasping for air, feeling reborn.

Dylan immediately handed over a disinfectant wipe. "Bring it in!" Alexander took it, lowered his eyes, and slowly wiped his fingers, his voice deep and cold.

Christopher hadn't recovered yet and didn't get what Alexander meant. Suddenly, he heard a dog barking.

A large German Shepherd appeared, drooling, showing its sharp teeth, and its dark blue eyes locked on Christopher.

At that moment, Christopher was both panicked and terrified. Even when facing the powerful Alexander, he hadn't felt this kind of fear. But he was afraid of dogs, which hardly anyone knew, let alone a large German Shepherd.

Gideon grinned. "What a coincidence, I knew you were afraid of dogs since you were a kid." Then he sneered, "Do you know who let the dog bite you when you were a kid?"

Christopher's eyes widened; some answers were obvious. Gideon pointed to himself arrogantly. "That's right, it was me."

Alexander's methods were never straightforward; they were cruel and torturous, exploiting people's deepest fears.

"Alexander, I know you hate me. Just give me a quick death!" Christopher yelled, all his earlier bravado gone.

Alexander gave him a cold look and said slowly, "Hate? Sure, but I have my ways." He sneered, "You think you're tough? You messed with my people, so let's see if you can survive this. If you do, maybe I'll think about sparing you."

With that, Alexander turned and walked out of the room, ignoring Christopher's desperate shouts. Gideon, looking bored, dug at his ear. "Alright, enough with the shouting. It's not gonna help."

Christopher was truly panicking now, completely lost. He looked at Gideon and pleaded, "We were brothers once. Just give me a quick death."

Gideon clicked his tongue, "Brothers? I don't have a brother like you. Don't try to claim kinship with me."

"By the way," Gideon said, looking at Christopher, "Do you know Neil?"

Christopher stared at him, confused about why Neil was suddenly brought up. Gideon smirked, "He messed with Victoria last time and still managed to survive. You shouldn't be worse than him, right? You should at least be able to stay alive."

"Neil is your brother, and you can bear to watch Alexander torture him?" Christopher said.

Gideon sneered, "I don't have a brother. My mom only gave birth to me."

Last time, Lester tried to make a deal with Gideon to get Alexander to release Neil, but it wasn't that simple. And since Lester hadn't kept his promise, Gideon didn't care. It wasn't his son suffering, so he had no sympathy.

Gideon didn't waste any more words. "Be good and enjoy it. You'll never forget this." He lightly patted Christopher's face, smiling with pleasure."Untie Christopher and release the dog!" With that, Gideon also left the room. Soon, the people inside came out and locked the door behind them.

Alexander had already left. Gideon stood outside the door, recording the sounds with his phone. After a while, he put it away and left. The screams coming from the room were chilling.

The next morning, Victoria slightly moved her head and whispered something very softly in her hospital bed. Alexander had gone home to change clothes, made breakfast, and brought it over to avoid Victoria being hungry when she woke up.

As soon as Alexander opened the door, he noticed Victoria moving and quickly walked in, putting down the breakfast.

Seeing Victoria mumbling and sweating on the forehead, Alexander knew from Victoria's mouth movements that she was having a nightmare.

Alexander sat on the chair by the bed, one hand touching Victoria's head and the other holding her hand, leaning over to softly soothe her.

"It's okay, I'm here." Alexander's voice was extremely gentle. "Mom is fine. You did it."

Under Alexander's constant gentle reassurance, Victoria gradually calmed down. After Victoria settled from the nightmare, Alexander wiped the sweat from her forehead. Even in her dreams, Victoria was worried about Saskia.

Victoria felt like she had one long dream after another. She dreamt of being pulled down by a great force, struggling to get up but unable to. Then she dreamt of Saskia lying on the ground covered in blood, not moving no matter how much she called.

Suddenly, Victoria saw a man staring at her with a resentful look, making her heart clench with a feeling of suffocation. Then she seemed to hear a gentle voice soothing her by her ear.

Later, Victoria dreamt of seeing her mother, whom she hadn't seen in a long time. But as soon as she called out, her mother's figure dissipated like a mist blown away by the wind.

In an instant, Victoria's eyes snapped open. Alexander was sitting beside her, watching as she suddenly opened her eyes. Those eyes, once filled with hope and vitality, now seemed empty and lifeless.

Alexander asked with concern, "What's wrong?"
