Chapter 110 Alexander's Plan

"Was this hit ordered by someone from the Howard family?" Garrett asked, squinting his sharp eyes like a mafia boss.

Alexander, freshly bandaged, moved his pale lips slightly. His deep voice was even raspier. "Maybe."

Maybe?

Caleb and the others were taken aback. What kind of answer was that?

"They caught the killer, but none of the clues pointed to him. Just scapegoats," Alexander explained.

Caleb smirked. "Well, he's good at hiding."

Garrett then asked, "With your skills, you shouldn't have been hurt, right?" He stroked his chiseled jaw. "Unless you got hurt on purpose."

Caleb chimed in, "The car accident didn't work, so now you're using your injury to make him slip up?"

Alexander stayed silent. Sometimes silence says it all.

"And then you had Dylan send word to the Howard family that you were seriously injured and unconscious. They may seem calm, but they've been plotting since they heard. They're just keeping it cool because of Nathan's authority. But if you don't go back soon, someone's gonna make a move. So, you're waiting for that, huh?" Owen adjusted his gold-rimmed glasses, his eyes sharp behind the lenses. He nailed the analysis.

"Aren't you worried Victoria will find out? You're deceiving her," Caleb said casually.

Alexander pressed his dry lips together. "She won't know."

He had already arranged for the news to be stopped before it reached her.

This wasn't a spur-of-the-moment thing; he had planned it long ago.

Garrett suddenly said, "I'm curious to see how Victoria would react if she knew you were hurt."

Caleb nodded. "Me too."

Owen added quietly, "And let Victoria see how tough her husband is, removing bullets and stitching wounds without anesthesia."

Alexander stayed silent, glaring at them. They really enjoyed the drama.

Meanwhile, Victoria, having lunch with Lila, was clearly distracted.

Lila noticed. "If you're that worried, why not make a video call to check on him?"

Victoria said, "I called this morning, but he switched it to voice call."

She wasn't usually overly sensitive, but she felt uneasy.

Lila raised an eyebrow. "How about I test the waters with Owen?"

Before Victoria could agree, Lila had already pulled out her phone. Just as she was about to message Owen on Facebook, Victoria said, "Forget it. It's not good. Two people in a relationship should trust each other. Maybe I'm just overthinking."

"You sure?" Lila asked.

"Yes, let's eat. We have a meeting this afternoon," Victoria said.

"Alright, let's eat," Lila said.

In the afternoon, after her meeting, Victoria returned to her office and saw Lila running in excitedly.

"Darling, Harrington agreed to play the male lead in my play," Lila said with a big smile. "Oh my God, this is such a big break!"

Victoria smiled. "Congratulations."

Lila added, "And his agent said he didn't even need to read the script and could sign the contract directly. I was stunned. I've been in this industry for years and never encountered such a good thing."

Victoria said calmly, "Well, you're a well-known producer. This is his way of showing trust in you."

Lila's eyes lit up. "That makes sense."

After sharing her joy, Lila went to prepare the contract and script.

Victoria got back to work. Since AromaVista launched yesterday, the response had been great, and sales were climbing.

At four in the afternoon, she received a phone call.
