Chapter 22 Nolan Seeks Cooperation

In the office.

Victoria squinted her almond-shaped eyes, staring at the flamboyantly dressed Nolan in front of her.

Nolan was the vice president of the Parker Group, twenty-six years old, and known in Ridgewood for his love of partying. He was in the tabloids every three days, either with a celebrity or a model.

He was quite handsome and a member of the Parker family, so naturally, many people wanted to curry favor with him. However, rumors suggested he only enjoyed entertainment, never truly flipped.

Victoria looked at Nolan sitting on the sofa, her cold voice ringing out, "Mr. Parker, is there something you need from me?"

Horizon Group and the Parker Group had never had any business dealings.

As she scrutinized him, he was also sizing up Victoria.

She had a stunningly beautiful face with exquisite features, indeed more beautiful than any woman he had ever been with.

Nolan's lips curled into a smile, "I've heard rumors that Ms. Kennedy is a ruthless person, but seeing you today, you're quite a beauty. It's worth this visit."

Victoria's deep almond eyes narrowed slightly at his words, silently staring him.

Nolan quickly felt a chill in the air.

He looked at Victoria sitting at her desk and suddenly felt a shiver.

He hadn't expected Victoria to have such a strong presence. For a few seconds, he was actually intimidated by her, even though she was two years younger than him.

Victoria's face remained cold as she said icily, "If you're here for small talk, you might be in the wrong place."

Nolan chuckled at her words, immediately restraining himself, "Just kidding. I'm here to discuss a collaboration."

Victoria glanced at him without showing any emotion, then said, "Go ahead."

Nolan's eyes shifted slightly, his eyebrows raised, and smiled, "The Parker Group's hotels place a bottle of aromatherapy in each room. Starting next month, we plan to switch to a different brand."

He paused, lifting his eyelids slightly to glance at the calm Victoria, then continued, "I heard that Horizon Group's Starry not only produces perfumes but also aromatherapy."

Victoria lowered her head slightly, a glint in her eyes, but she remained calm.

She slowly raised her head, her eyelids slightly lifted, and in a cold voice, she asked, "Heard? Where did you hear such rumors? Everyone knows Horizon Group only deals in the perfume and film industries, never in the aromatherapy industry."

Nolan smiled again, "Ten days ago, weren't you at Mystic River Tavern discussing this collaboration?"

Victoria said nothing, waiting for him to continue.

Nolan continued, "I heard things didn't go well. I won't gossip about the details, but I'm quite interested in this collaboration, so I came to discuss it with you."

Nolan didn't hide his purpose for coming.

Since he was so straightforward, there was no point in her being evasive.

She chuckled lightly, her lips curling, "You really are well-informed!"

Nolan gladly accepted her compliment, "Thank you."

Victoria got straight to the point, "As you can see, we haven't announced this new product yet. There are still some details to confirm. As for the collaboration, I'll consider it and give you an answer in two days."

Nolan had somewhat expected her not to agree immediately, but since she didn't reject him outright, there was still hope.

"Alright, I'll wait for your good news."

Before leaving, Nolan added, "The Parker Group sincerely wants to collaborate with Horizon Group."

Victoria gave him a serious look, "Okay."

After Nolan left, Wesley came in.

Victoria's first words were, "Find out who leaked the news about AromaVista's development!"

Wesley was stunned for a moment. He hadn't been there earlier and didn't know what had happened. But seeing Victoria's expression and hearing her words, he had a rough idea.

"Yes, I'll get on it right away."

AromaVista was Horizon Group's newly developed aromatherapy product, still a secret. Horizon Group had been preparing to enter the aromatherapy market for a year, and not many people knew about it. It was surprising that Nolan had found out.

Half an hour later, Wesley returned with the results.

"It was a supervisor from the R&D department who leaked it. I've already had HR issue a termination notice."

Wesley's efficiency had always been highly regarded by Victoria.

"I see."

Victoria pondered for a moment, then said, "Also, find out why the Parker Group is no longer working with their original aromatherapy supplier."

"Yes."

After Wesley left, Victoria's phone rang.

She glanced at the caller ID, and her sharp, cold eyes instantly softened, her tense expression relaxing.

"What's up?" she answered, speaking first.

"Are you done with work?" Alexander's deep, warm, and magnetic voice came through.

Victoria didn't know she was so picky, liking good looks, nice hands, and a pleasant voice, all of which Alexander had.

She parted her rosy lips and replied, "Just finished."

"And you?" she asked.

"Me too."

"Shall we have dinner at home tonight?" Victoria asked instinctively.

Then she heard a hearty and pleasant laugh on the other end of the line.

Victoria was a bit confused. Why was he laughing? Was what she said funny?

As she wondered, Alexander's pleasant voice came through, "I'll take you out for dinner tonight and introduce you to some of my good friends. Is that okay?"

He always sought her opinion first.

"Okay."

"I'll come to pick you up later. Wait for me at your office."

"Okay."

After hanging up, she realized why Alexander had laughed. She had unconsciously referred to her home as their home.

Although they were married, they had never lived together. She hadn't brought it up, and neither had he. They both understood each other well.

She wasn't used to it yet, and he knew she wasn't used to it either.

In fact, over the past half month, she had gradually started to accept Alexander's presence in her life, and her anxiety had lessened.

Because he was so gentle, she couldn't refuse him.

Half an hour later, Alexander picked her up.

He then took her to Starlight Diner.

At this time, several people were already seated in the private room on the top floor of Starlight Diner.

When Alexander and Victoria exited the elevator, they bumped into a hurriedly walking woman in white at the corner of the hallway.

Fortunately, Alexander was holding her, so she didn't fall.

"Are you okay?" Victoria looked at the woman who had fallen and quickly helped her up.

The woman in white seemed to be in a hurry, quickly saying, "Thank you, I'm fine," and then ran off.

Victoria looked puzzled but said nothing, and the two continued to the private room.
