Chapter 361 You Had a Fight
As soon as Lyle left, only Garrett's people remained.
The assistant asked, "Mr. Martinez, do you think Lyle will agree to sell fifty percent of the shares to us?"
Garrett took a deep drag on his cigarette, then exhaled a cloud of smoke that shrouded half of his face, adding a touch of mystery.
"Maybe," Garrett said lightly.
Garrett didn't expect Thomas to come here; from what he knew, Thomas didn't have a gambling habit.
So, Thomas must be here on business, and Lyle left when he came in.
Thomas's eyes were shrouded in a misty layer, making them both mysterious and elusive.
After a while, someone even more unexpected appeared.
Shouldn't she be at home?
Garrett glanced over and then took out his phone, dialing Alexander's number.
It rang several times before the other side picked up.
"Alexander, guess who I saw at the Royal Flush Resort?" Garrett started with a tease.
"Just say it!" Alexander clearly didn't want to guess.
"Thomas, the head of Heaven's Net, and also..." Garrett deliberately paused.
Alexander frowned slightly on the other end, then heard Garrett say, "Mrs. Howard is here too."
Alexander responded with a simple acknowledgment.
Garrett was puzzled and curiously asked, "Why are you so calm? Shouldn't you be more surprised that Victoria is in such a mixed place? You knew beforehand, didn't you?"
Alexander replied, "No."
Garrett puzzled. "Did you two have a fight?"
Alexander said, "You're overthinking it!"
When Victoria arrived, she intended to go in alone, but Kimberly insisted on following her, feeling uneasy.
Kimberly didn't know Thomas, but she found him quite handsome. She noticed that everyone around Victoria, regardless of gender, was attractive.
But her intuition told her that there was more to Thomas than met the eye.
When Thomas saw Victoria, he looked her up and down, a mysterious smile playing on his lips. "It seems like you have the worst luck among us. I guess I worried for nothing."
"Why did you ask me to come here?" Victoria retorted, thinking, 'Of all places, why here?'
Thomas stood up and sat next to Victoria.
"This place is private. If I had asked you to a hotel or something, would you have come?" Thomas asked, staring at her.
Kimberly was startled by the intimacy between Thomas and Victoria, as well as his words.
Was this guy trying to steal Alexander's girl?
Victoria squinted slightly. "Get to the point!"
Thomas didn't respond to her but looked at Kimberly. "Miss, could you please wait outside for a moment? We have private matters to discuss."
Kimberly opened her mouth but didn't know what to say.
Victoria rolled her eyes at Thomas and then said to Kimberly, "Wait for me outside. I'll be fine."
Betty and Kimberly left the room together.
"Did you know George is in trouble?" At this moment, Thomas had lost his earlier casual demeanor, his tone much heavier.
Victoria replied, "I know. I've already sent someone to find his location."
Thomas said, "If I hadn't called Arnold and he let it slip, were you planning to keep it a secret?"
She paused. "Their targets are George and me. The fewer people who know, the safer it is. Besides, if they can't find me, they won't harm George."
Thomas frowned slightly. "What exactly do they want from you two?"
Years ago, Victoria, George, and Ronan went on a mission and then disappeared for three months. No matter how hard they searched, they couldn't find the three of them.
During those three months, the three were in the 103 base. As for what happened during that time, no one knew.
All that was known was that the 103 organization base was destroyed and severely weakened.
And of the three, only two returned.
Outside, Kimberly was constantly paying attention to the situation inside. Betty, seeing her anxious yet restrained expression, kindly said, "Don't worry, nothing will happen to them."
Kimberly turned her gaze to her upon hearing this.
