Chapter 480 An Indifferent Attitude
Victoria looked down at Miguel with the air of a victorious queen, a cold smile playing at her lips. "He's right. You truly don't know me at all."
Miguel remained silent.
Meanwhile, Griffin sat stunned before the surveillance monitors. He had witnessed Victoria's remarkable marksmanship and combat skills firsthand. Despite her injured hand, her performance hadn't been hindered in the slightest.
Suddenly, Victoria addressed the camera directly. "Come out, Griffin. I know you're watching. Don't make me come looking for you."
Griffin frowned. She knew of his presence all along.
Alexander approached Victoria, drawing her protectively into his embrace. Marcus took charge of restraining Miguel.
Though Miguel's men remained elsewhere on the yacht, undisturbed by the gunshots they assumed were part of the "game."
Moments later, a figure appeared on the upper deck.
It was Griffin.
He leaned forward against the railing, gazing down at Victoria and the others with undisguised interest.
Under different circumstances, he might have considered her a worthy ally.
Victoria met his gaze, clearly displeased by his scrutiny.
"Miss Kennedy," Griffin said with a smooth smile, his voice deep and measured. "You're the most brilliant woman I've ever encountered."
"I'd have to agree," Victoria shot back.
His laughter echoed across the deck, his curiosity about her visibly intensifying, his gaze growing more heated.
As a man, Alexander immediately recognized the nature of Griffin's interest in his wife. Griffin wasn't merely intrigued—he was captivated.
Alexander narrowed his eyes. "Griffin," he said coldly, "using Organization 103 as cover for your operations... a hundred deaths wouldn't be punishment enough."
Meeting Alexander's penetrating gaze, Griffin had to acknowledge Alexander's commanding presence. Yet in terms of ruthlessness, Griffin considered himself an equal.
He lowered his head slightly, chuckling. "After tonight, who will know what I've done?"
His gaze shifted from Ronnie to Miguel, then back to Victoria.
"Miguel, Ronnie," he said casually, "at least you'll have distinguished company on your journey to the afterlife."
Despite his fascination with Victoria, Griffin knew they could never be allies. Her particular background made it impossible for him to let her live.
Before Victoria could respond, Miguel, still restrained by Marcus, shouted, "Griffin, what are you saying?"
Griffin offered no reply.
Miguel's rage intensified, overwhelming even the pain in his chest. "After everything I've done for you, this is how you repay me? You want me dead?" he roared. "Fuck that! Don't forget, every man on this yacht is loyal to me!"
Ronnie, meanwhile, maintained an air of indifference, sitting silently with a mocking smile playing across his features.
"Miguel," he said with derision, "I wasn't wrong about your stupidity."
Miguel was indeed all brawn and no brains. Griffin had always appreciated Ronnie's intelligence, but Ronnie's unauthorized actions had led to Victoria's intervention, potentially ruining Griffin's entire operation. For that, Ronnie couldn't be spared.
When Miguel spotted his supposed right-hand man, Byron Reyes, standing beside Griffin, he immediately called out, "Byron! Have your men restrain Griffin!"
But Byron remained motionless, while Griffin maintained his relaxed demeanor.
Even someone as dense as Miguel could now grasp the situation.
"You betrayed me, Griffin!" Miguel snarled, his face contorted with rage.
At Victoria's silent signal, Marcus released his hold on Miguel.
Suddenly, the yacht's engines cut out, bringing the vessel to a halt.
At that moment, Kimberly burst onto the deck, her expression grave as she called out urgently, "Griffin planted bombs all over this yacht!"
