Chapter 49 Alexander Gives Victoria a Ring
"What do you want to say?"
Alexander squinted, noticing her long silence.
Victoria looked serious. "Alexander, even though we're married and living together, there are some rules."
"Go on," Alexander replied casually.
"First, take your pajamas into the bathroom when you shower and put them on before coming out." She looked firm, like she'd refuse to live with him otherwise.
Little did he know, she thought to herself that if she saw him like that a few more times, she might lose control.
"Second, you must wear pajamas to sleep."
"Third, we sleep on our own sides and can't cross the middle line. I'll put a pillow in the middle."
Alexander's eyes dimmed slightly.
"Fourth, I need my sleep. I must sleep until eight every day. If you wake up early, don't wake me."
"Got it. Anything else?" Alexander asked gently.
A glint flashed in his eyes.
Victoria thought for a moment and shook her head. "No, that's all."
Alexander got up and naturally helped her with the blanket, speaking gently, "Alright, sleep early. I have some work to do and will be back soon."
Victoria paused. How was he being so natural? Didn't he feel awkward?
She looked up, blinked her almond-shaped eyes, and asked, "Alexander, don't you feel uncomfortable?"
Alexander looked at her, her head slightly tilted, long hair falling to one side, delicate features, moist eyes, and long eyelashes fluttering.
The next second, Victoria felt the light dim. Alexander was close, and she blinked.
His long eyelashes were like a dense forest, giving a deep and mysterious feeling.
"Because it's you, I'm very comfortable," Alexander said, rubbing her head and kissing her forehead. "Don't lock the door, good night."
Victoria watched him leave. His words made her heart flutter.
In the study, Alexander began to work. He had things to handle and wanted Victoria to relax and adapt.
The next day.
Victoria woke up groggily.
'What is this?'
With her eyes closed, she felt a "wall."
'Why is it so hard, and why does it have a temperature?'
She opened her eyes and saw a handsome face, long eyelashes, high nose bridge, thin lips, and a bit of stubble, adding maturity.
Victoria marveled at how perfect Alexander's face was.
"Am I handsome?"
Lost in admiration, a deep, husky voice broke her thoughts.
She met his deep eyes. Oh God, he caught her staring!
She wanted to move, but Alexander held her waist tightly. No matter how strong she was, it was useless against him.
"Don't move, be good. I'm a normal man," Alexander said in a husky voice, his chin resting on her head.
Victoria stopped struggling, her face buried in his chest, cheeks red, body stiff.
"Then let go of me!"
"I don't want to," Alexander replied.
"Alexander, we agreed last night not to cross the middle line," Victoria said, annoyed.
"But I didn't agree," Alexander said nonchalantly.
Victoria looked up in disbelief.
"I only said I got it," Alexander explained with a slight smile. "Besides, you came over on your own, not me."
Victoria's eyes dodged. She knew her sleeping habits from Lila.
Alexander looked at the embarrassed Victoria in his arms, feeling an urge to kiss her.
He kissed her forehead. "You need to get used to my presence. I keep my word; I won't have sex with you for now."
Victoria shyly lowered her head again. She felt his change and decided to stay still, dragging it out as long as possible.
"I heard from Dylan you usually wake up at six. Why are you still here?" Victoria asked.
"It's Saturday," Alexander said. "Besides, with my wife by my side, why get up early?"
Victoria stayed silent. She didn't want to respond.
When she came out of the bathroom, Alexander was no longer in the bedroom.
She changed into casual clothes and went to the living room, where she saw Alexander in a casual white outfit preparing breakfast in the kitchen.
Without turning around, he said, "Sit for a while. Breakfast will be ready soon."
Victoria obediently sat at the dining table, waiting.
She realized living together wasn't as hard as she thought. It felt pretty good. He was handsome, had a great body, treated her well, and even made her breakfast. She felt quite happy.
When Alexander turned around, he saw her smiling with her head down. "Don't you think I'm pretty good?"
Victoria looked up and smiled lightly. "I didn't expect you to be so narcissistic."
"Can't help it, I'm too excellent," Alexander said.
Victoria raised an eyebrow. "Should I put a special label on you then?"
Alexander walked over with two plates. "Have breakfast first. I'll give you a gift later."
Victoria saw his mysterious look and didn't ask more.
The sandwich on her plate smelled of wheat, with a few fruits beside it. Alexander's attention to detail was evident, even in the plating.
After breakfast, in the living room.
Victoria looked at the pair of rings in front of her, bewildered.
"The gift you mentioned earlier is this?" she asked.
Alexander nodded. "I know what happened at Infinity Mall yesterday."
Victoria pondered, pursed her lips, and said, "But I don't want others to know we're married for now."
