Chapter 343 In Our Family, There's No One as Bad as You!

Victoria had never sent out cash gifts this often before. Everyone who got one was shocked, some even thought her account might've been hacked.

Bryan was lounging on his couch when his phone buzzed a few times, and the Facebook icon popped up. He opened it and saw the transfer from 'Little One'.

"Am I seeing things?" Bryan muttered, counting the string of '0's carefully.

After counting, he thought, 'Has Victoria finally come around? Or did someone hack her account?'

Bryan called Victoria right away, but she hung up after one ring. He tried again, but she hung up again. So he sent a voice message. "Victoria, did your account get hacked?"

After a bit, she replied: [If you don't want it, give it back!]

Seeing that, Bryan knew for sure her account wasn't hacked! This was a rare moment! Not just Bryan, everyone in Victoria's contacts thought the same.

In the Maybach, Alexander watched Victoria send different amounts of cash gifts to everyone in her contacts, a smile spreading across his face, his eyes full of affection for her.

"How much are you planning to send me?" Alexander asked, curious.

Victoria finished sending the last one, put her phone away, and looked up at Alexander. "None."

Alexander raised an eyebrow. She didn't answer but asked, "Am I not worth anything?"

Alexander looked into her lively eyes, his brows slightly furrowed, but his smile grew wider. He reached out and tapped her nose. "Little One, your plan is good, but it plays right into my hands."

Dylan and Marcus stared straight ahead, pretending not to hear the conversation behind them.

Lila had just received a big cash gift from Victoria and was about to reply when she felt a chill down her spine, like a prey being watched by a predator. She looked up sharply and saw Grant sitting in the living room, his sharp eyes staring straight at her.

Lila was about to turn and go back upstairs when Grant's deep, cold voice hit her ears. "Come down!"

Lila couldn't pretend not to hear. Even the passing servants shivered at that voice. The house felt like an icebox despite the lively atmosphere outside.

Lila reluctantly walked down. "Grant, do you need something?" she asked, not daring to sit down, standing in front of the coffee table, trying to look calm. Lila, who feared nothing, was only afraid of the man in front of her.

Although she often badmouthed Grant behind his back, she would never dare to say it to his face.

"Lila, have I been too good to you?" Grant suddenly asked.

Lila blinked, confused; her scalp started to tingle. She had a bad feeling about this. She had a pretty good idea of what it was about.

Lila looked puzzled. Grant furrowed his brows. "What was in the bag you just gave my dad?"

Lila answered without thinking, "Nothing, just a gift I bought for Grandpa." As soon as she finished speaking, she met Grant's cold gaze and shivered instinctively.

"Where did you buy it?" Grant asked patiently.

Lila paused for a second and randomly named a store.

Grant's tone was slow but carried a frightening undertone. "I've never seen an antique store use a restaurant's bag."

Lila didn't dare to speak. What did he mean? Lila was genuinely confused. But she reacted quickly, "I switched the bag at home."

"Lila Scott!" Grant called her full name again, "I'm losing my patience!"

"Grant, calling me by my full name won't help." For the sake of her friend, Lila was ready to go all out, "I really don't know where Marlowe is. Even if you beat me up, I wouldn't know."

Grant shouted, "You!"

"Enough!" A dignified yet aged voice echoed in the living room. "It's Christmas, why are you making that face?" Caspian stood at the top of the stairs, leaning on a cane, his face stern and serious.

"Grandpa." Hearing Caspian's voice, Lila knew her savior had arrived.

Lila immediately turned to walk to the stairs, quickly going up and taking Caspian's arm to come down together. Grant's face darkened, and he watched silently.

Caspian sat in the main seat, his presence commanding respect as he glared at Grant.

"You're so capable, yet you can't even find your own wife?" Caspian sneered, "Lila is your niece. What could she possibly know? Yelling at her won't bring your wife back!"

Lila stood beside Caspian, silently giving him a thumbs-up in her heart. Caspian said, "As a dignified CEO, you actually lose your wife right under your nose. Aren't you ashamed?"

Caspian didn't care if his words were pleasant or not, nor did he care that the person he was scolding was his son.

Caspian continued, "In our family, there's no one as bad as you. If you don't love her, let her go. Why drag her along? Do you think you're so precious that everyone has to revolve around you? Stop sulking here. We owe you nothing. Your wife is your responsibility. If you lose her, it's your fault. Don't blame anyone else!"

Grant said nothing. Lila was stunned! The Scott family's eldest son and second son, who were about to enter, stopped at the door because of Caspian's words.

In the Scott family, no one dared to provoke Grant, let alone speak loudly to him, except for Caspian. After speaking, Caspian called out, "Butler, serve dinner!" He didn't care about Grant's current state, as long as he wasn't dead.

The butler appeared out of nowhere. "Yes, right away."

To get to the dining room, they had to pass by the front door. Caspian stopped and looked at the group standing outside. "Are you all planning to have Christmas dinner at the door?"

The group immediately followed Caspian to the dining room, not daring to ask about Grant.

At the dining table, Lila noticed that all the dishes were almost served, but Grant was still nowhere to be seen. She leaned over to Eve and whispered, "Mom, shouldn't we call Grant?"

Eve glanced at her. "Why don't you go?"

Lila shook her head. Grant was already after her; she would not voluntarily seek him out.

"Then eat obediently and speak less!" Eve said, looking at her pitiful expression. Just when Lila thought Grant would leave in anger, he came in after all.

But this year's Christmas dinner felt a bit oppressive and tense. Except for a few noisy kids, none of the adults dared to speak, eating in silence.

"If you don't want to eat, go back to your villa!" Caspian suddenly said, "Stop ruining the atmosphere."

No one dared to speak. It was obvious that this was directed at Grant. But everyone was puzzled. Even if Caspian was angry, he wouldn't usually scold people today. And his every word was really piercing.
