Chapter 426 They're All Dead

"Victoria, are you saying someone has betrayed us?"

Marigold, Eugene, and Russell were all a bit surprised.

They looked at the five men who had been knocked out on the ground.

"But these men are all Mr. Taylor's people," Eugene said with a frown.

They naturally knew that it wasn't Thomas who had betrayed Victoria, after all, the relationship between Thomas and Victoria was well known.

"If that's the case, then there must be a traitor within Heaven's Net," Marigold said with a frown. "Do we need to inform Mr. Taylor about this?"

Victoria was silent for a moment, her eyes full of indifference.

Her voice was cold and sharp, "No need for now. Since someone wants to lure me into a trap, I'll play along."

She wanted to see who was plotting against her.

Eugene and the others felt a cold aura emanating from Victoria, a sudden and powerful sense of oppression that made them shiver involuntarily.

They silently felt sympathy for the person behind this.

Whoever it was, they had picked the wrong person to mess with—Victoria.

"Ms. Kennedy, should we continue to follow them?" Marigold asked.

Victoria replied, "Why not? How else will we know their plan?"

Retreating was not her style. Even if she knew it was a trap, she would face it head-on. Fighting against the odds was her way.

"Find a place to hide them!" She glanced at the men on the ground.

Eugene quickly hid the men within a few minutes.

"Alexander, Jonathan has sent a message. The six men have appeared, and Mr. Harrison is safe." Gideon informed him almost immediately after receiving the message.

Alexander asked, "Did that woman let him go?"

Gideon was taken aback and nodded, "Yes, she did."

"By the way, the third team reported finding several bodies in the woods. They were from the other side," Gideon continued. "What do you think they went through all this trouble for? And those ten children, they must be bait to lure someone into a trap. Who are they trying to trap?"

This was a question Gideon had been pondering since he received the message.

Alexander's expression remained calm, his chiseled face cold as ice.

After a long pause, he said indifferently, "It's not bait. They're using the other side's tactics against them."

As for who they were trying to trap, that was not his concern.

He aimed to be the ultimate victor.

Just then, the previously clear sky suddenly roared with a loud noise.

"Victoria, this is a sign of a heavy rainstorm," Russell said, looking up through the dense leaves. The once blue sky was quickly covered by dark clouds.

The group quickly found a place to change into waterproof clothing.

Fortunately, they always carried different gear when they went out.

Outside the entrance of a cave.

A tall man dressed in black stood, wearing a mask that only revealed his lips.

Several other men in black stood nearby.

"Master, she seems to have noticed," one of the men in black stepped forward and said.

The man's lips curled into a smile, hidden behind the mask, his green eyes looking eerie and unpredictable.

After a long pause, the man spoke slowly, his voice deep and resonant. But his words carried a chilling indifference.

"Proceed as planned," the man said. "Even if she has noticed, she can't back out of this game now."

He let out a cold laugh. "And her personality isn't one to back down. Don't worry, she'll come."

"Yes, Master," the man in black replied.

After the man in black retreated, Cecil received a secret message.

"Mr. Marshall, what do they mean by this?" Vincent asked, puzzled. "Why are they making us circle the forest? Weren't we supposed to meet by the beach? And it's about to rain heavily. Do they expect us to get soaked?"

Cecil squinted and, after a moment of silence, said, "Stop complaining. We do as we're told."

The group then followed the new route, circling the forest.

They hid in the shadows, observing their every move.

Eugene lowered his voice, "Victoria, they've changed their route."

Victoria pondered for a moment and then whispered instructions to the three of them.

They nodded. "Got it."

Russell said, "Ms. Kennedy, I'll go distract them."

"Alright, be careful," Victoria replied.

After Russell left, Victoria, Marigold, and Eugene also split up.

At this time, the sky began to drizzle.

Half an hour later, the rain intensified.

"Mr. Marshall, should we find a place to take shelter from the rain?" Glenn suggested. "We can handle it, but these two kids can't take much more."

"Yeah, if they catch a cold or get sick, where are we going to find a doctor?" Vincent agreed.

They weren't that kind-hearted; they just didn't want things to get more complicated.

Cecil was feeling irritated, sensing something odd about today's deal.

Before he could lose his temper, he heard Lloyd shout. "Mr. Marshall, there's someone up ahead."

They all looked and saw a faint figure lying in the grass about 160 feet away.

They immediately became alert.

Cecil said, "Lloyd, go check it out."

Then Lloyd, carrying a gun, approached.

As he got closer, he saw a woman lying unconscious in the grass.

She was disheveled, her clothes soaked by the rain, her hair covering half her face, making it hard to see her features.

"Mr. Marshall, it's a woman," Lloyd shouted back.

Cecil asked, "Dead or alive?"

Lloyd crouched down and checked her breath. "She's still alive."

Without hesitation, Cecil ordered, "Kill her!"

For those who lived on the edge of danger, their rule for unknown people was simple: kill them to avoid being harmed.

The three hiding in the shadows hadn't expected Cecil to be so cautious and not fall for the trap.

Victoria pressed a button on the edge of her watch and whispered, "Get ready, proceed with Plan B, and make sure not to harm the two children. And don't give them a chance to fire their guns."

"And don't give them a chance to fire their guns."

Eugene and Marigold both said, "Got it."

In the few seconds Lloyd hesitated, Russell suddenly opened her eyes, startling Lloyd.

Taking advantage of the moment, she swiftly wrapped her hands around his neck like vines, pulling him down and choking him. With a quick twist, she snapped his neck with a sound like breaking bones.

The whole process took only a few seconds, quick and precise.

Lloyd didn't even know how he died, without a chance to resist.

At the same time.

Victoria and the other two emerged from the rain like phantoms.

Dressed in black with hats, they moved swiftly. The remaining five men didn't have time to react before being kicked several feet away by a powerful force.

Cecil was kicked hard in the chest, stumbling back a few steps. He clutched his chest, looking at the black-clad figures that appeared out of nowhere.

He growled, "Fuck, daring to ambush me! You're asking for death!"

As he raised his gun to load it, a sweeping kick knocked it out of his hand.

"Defeat me, and I'll let you fire your gun!" The figure wore a hat that covered half her face, but her voice was cold.

Cecil saw it was a woman but didn't underestimate her because her aura was terrifying.

But he didn't back down. As a man, would he fear a woman?

"You little bitch, I'll kill you!" he cursed viciously.

Victoria lowered her head slightly, a faint, eerie smile appearing on her lips.

In less than two minutes, Cecil was on the defensive.

Despite fighting for so long, he hadn't even touched her.

He realized Victoria's strength was far from simple.

Her moves seemed random but were flexible, fast, and powerful, each strike aimed to kill.

He had been kicked several times, each hit targeting vital points.

He looked particularly disheveled, blood at the corner of his mouth, his face bruised.

The rain made him look even more pathetic.

Victoria didn't kill him immediately; she had questions for him.

Step by step, she closed in on him, appearing to Cecil like a harbinger of doom.

For the first time, he felt fear.

"Who... who are you?" Cecil stammered, his voice trembling with fear.

As she approached, he stumbled back.

Victoria squinted, her voice cold. "You don't know me?"

She was almost certain that the person who set the trap hadn't told these people the real information.

She let out an eerie laugh. "You're of no use to me anymore!"

Before he could react, she spun gracefully and kicked him in the neck.

With a loud thud, he fell into the mud, sending water splashing everywhere.

The other four were also swiftly dealt with by Eugene and the others.

"I thought they'd be tougher. They look big but can't take a hit. With skills and speed like this, are they really from the 103 organization?" Eugene clapped his hands, looking disdainfully at the bodies in the mud.

The two children huddled under a large tree.

After being released by the group, they had instinctively run to the tree for shelter.

"Victoria, what do we do with these people?" Marigold asked.Victoria walked over, holding the phone she had taken from Cecil.

"Leave them," Victoria said.

She had cracked the phone's code, finding nothing but a recent message and a map sent from a virtual number.

"What about the two kids?" Russell glanced at the children under the tree.

This question stumped Victoria.

They couldn't take the kids with them.

Finally, she focused on the little boy.
