Chapter 406 That Is Not Her

"That's not her!" Alexander leaned against the car, a mysterious, cold glint in his deep eyes.

"What?" Both Marcus and Kimberly questioned.

"Mr. Howard, are you saying that the Mrs. Howard we just saw isn't Mrs. Howard?" Marcus asked incredulously.

Alexander remained silent, but his serious expression spoke volumes.

"But," Kimberly frowned, "that person looked exactly like Mrs. Howard."

Marcus thought the same.

Even the figure, appearance, hairstyle, and clothing seemed identical.

Even the voice didn't sound different.

"Mr. Howard, how can you be sure that wasn't Mrs. Howard?" Marcus asked.

Alexander's face darkened, his voice low. "The ring!"

Marcus and Kimberly fell silent, neither of them having noticed it.

Actually, Alexander didn't realize something was wrong because of the ring; it was her aloofness that was truly off.

They had just talked on the phone the night before; it was impossible for her to become so distant in just a few hours.

Moreover, the Victoria in the Hernandez Estate, though she looked very similar, was full of flaws in his eyes.

Her scent, hair texture, even her hands, were not what he was familiar with.

This person's disguise was excellent, almost capturing Victoria's demeanor perfectly, even mimicking her voice.

But he was too familiar with everything about Victoria.

"Where is the real Mrs. Howard then?" Kimberly asked worriedly.

Alexander pressed his thin lips together, not speaking, his handsome face dark and terrifying.

Meanwhile, in the Hernandez Estate.

"It's over, Alexander must know you're not the real Victoria," Sarah said worriedly to the 'Victoria' in front of her.

Seraphim raised an eyebrow. "Why are you so sure?"

Sarah lifted 'Victoria's' left hand, glancing at it. "The ring. Do you really think Alexander would overlook such a glaring flaw?"

Seraphim and Nancy fell silent.

"He must have seen it, but he didn't ask where the ring went?" Sarah analyzed, "Isn't that strange? Victoria told me before that the ring was custom-made by Alexander, and she was used to wearing it all the time."

Kingdom of Serenia.

Victoria, who was preparing for the evening's events in the hotel, received a call from Seraphim.

Thomas watched her frown in surprise as she listened to whatever Seraphim was saying on the other end.

"Seraphim, What did you just say? Who came?" Victoria thought she was hearing things.

Seraphim replied, "Alexander. He might know that you left the Hernandez Estate."

She felt a bit panicked. "How did he come to Aidamore? He didn't tell me he was coming."

Seraphim said, "You'll have to ask him yourself."

"Did he say anything before he left?" she asked.

"No," Seraphim said, "Others might be fooled, but Alexander is really hard to deceive."

Victoria thought, 'It's over! He must be angry.'

She raised her left hand, looking at the ring on her ring finger, a trace of frustration in her eyes. She had been careless!

Victoria never thought Alexander would suddenly come to Aidamore. If she had known, she wouldn't have played this trick and kept it from him.

Thomas watched her hang up the phone, saw her frowning face, and leaned in curiously. "What's wrong? Did Seraphim mess up?"

Victoria looked frustrated. "He came."

"What?" Thomas was full of confusion. "Who came?"

"My husband!"

Thomas fell silent.

"Let him come then." Thomas almost rolled his eyes. "He can't do anything to you. Aren't you still in the Hernandez Estate? What are you afraid of?"

Victoria glared at him and asked a soul-piercing question, "What if he wants Nancy, who is disguised as me, to have sex with him?"

Thomas choked on his own saliva at her words.

"That is a problem," Thomas rubbed his nose, a strange look flashing in his eyes.

Then he heard Thomas's annoying voice, "If he can't tell the real you from the fake you, then you might as well not have this husband."

Victoria fell silent.

On the other side, Alexander and his team had just returned to the hotel.

"Mr. Howard, we've already had the people from Mystic Hall secretly search for Mrs. Howard's whereabouts." Marcus looked at Alexander, who was sitting on the sofa, exuding a faint aura of hostility.

Alexander responded with a sound and then dismissed them.

Outside the door, Marcus murmured, "Why do I feel like Mr. Howard is so calm about Mrs. Howard this time?"

Kimberly felt the same.

If it were before, he would have been anxious and angry upon learning that Victoria was missing.

"Are we still going to pick up the fake Mrs. Howard from the Hernandez Estate tonight?" Marcus recalled what Alexander had said before they left.

Kimberly was unsure. "Let's wait and see. The most important thing now is to find out where the real Mrs. Howard is. Let's go."

In the room, Alexander took out his phone and looked at the message on Facebook, which was sent by the mischievous Victoria a few seconds ago.

Victoria: [Dear, I was wrong. I had some personal matters to attend to, so I had no choice but to take this approach. But I promise, I will be careful. You wait for me. Love you!]

Alexander was helpless. He really couldn't do anything about her. Even though she secretly did things without telling him, he should be angry, but he couldn't bear to be mad at her.

But he didn't reply to her message, maintaining his usual aloof demeanor.

He tossed his phone aside, ignoring it.

Meanwhile, Victoria, who was also in a hotel, kept holding her phone. Ten minutes passed, and she still hadn't received a reply.

She checked the network; everything was normal.

Then she realized he was truly mad at her; he never ignored her messages unless he was deeply upset. She sighed inwardly, thinking that comforting her husband was harder than breaking into the Presidential Palace.

"What are you dazing about?" Thomas patted her shoulder, interrupting her thoughts.

Victoria snapped back to reality and looked at him. "What's up?"

"I was only gone for a while, and now you look so worried?" Thomas looked at her with confusion.

She didn't answer him.

Then he said, "I just got word that the 103 organization will be in a small town called Sunset in the Kingdom of Serenia tomorrow night."

"Are you sure?" she asked in a low voice.

Thomas said, "Yes."

If this was true, they wouldn't be able to make it back in time for Bryan's engagement party.

Because the day after tomorrow was Bryan's engagement party, her plan was to find what she was looking for in the Presidential Palace today, return tomorrow, and after the engagement party, find a way to extend their stay in Aidamore.

Good thing she hadn't told Alexander she would return the day after tomorrow.

Otherwise, she'd have to figure out how to fix another mistake before she could even address the current one.

She was really starting to admire herself.

But why did she always feel like she was getting herself into trouble after meeting Alexander?

She sighed silently again in her heart.

"Alright, got it. Have your people keep an eye on them. We'll go to Sunset Town after we finish our business here," Victoria said.
