Chapter 264 Victoria Refuses to Reveal Information About Marlowe

Serenity Grove Manor.

It was around ten in the morning on a chilly December day. The sun rose up like a big red fireball, slowly melting away the cold with its gentle light.

Victoria was snuggled up in her cozy bed, sleeping soundly, with no sign of waking up anytime soon.

Suddenly, she felt like she couldn't breathe, like a heavy weight was pressing down on her chest. She woke up groggily, gasping for air.

She felt a slightly cold tongue slipping into her mouth, stealing her breath away.

Barely able to breathe, she sleepily opened her eyes and saw Alexander's handsome face, so close it made her heart race.

She wanted to push him away, but her arms felt like jelly.

Fragments of their passionate night together came rushing back to her mind.

She couldn't remember when she fell asleep, just that Alexander had carried her to the bath when she was half-awake.

As she was thinking, Alexander finally let go of her lips. Her lungs felt like they were coming back to life.

Alexander's face was nestled in her neck, his lips close to her ear, his voice low and seductive, "Time to get up, it's past ten."

Victoria took a few deep breaths to steady herself.

Once she felt a bit more awake, she lifted her hand and playfully slapped his shoulder, grumbling, "If you hadn't kept me up so late last night, I wouldn't have trouble getting up!" Her voice was hoarse and dry.

Alexander knew he had been a bit too indulgent last night. He propped himself up slightly, one hand near her ear, the other gently caressing her cheek.

He looked down at her flushed, just-awakened face with soft eyes, coaxing her in a low voice, "It's all my fault. But did you enjoy my service last night?"

A mischievous smirk appeared on his face.

Victoria looked at the already fully dressed, handsome Alexander in front of her, rolled her eyes, and ignored his question. She asked hoarsely, "Why aren't you at work?"

He was wearing casual home clothes.

Alexander said, "Someone's here to see you. He's been waiting in our living room for a while." He added mysteriously.

'Who's looking for me?' She rolled her eyes, looking lively and cute.

He loved every expression of hers, whether charming, glamorous, or cold.

Alexander's lips curled into a doting smile, and he lowered his head to gently kiss her smooth forehead, "Get up, freshen up, and go see for yourself."

Since her body was sore and she was too lazy to move, Alexander helped her brush her teeth, wash her face, and change her clothes.

Downstairs, at dawn, Grant had changed into a fresh set of clothes and came to Serenity Grove Manor to wait. He didn't expect to sit for more than three hours.

Hearing light footsteps, Grant turned to look at the stairs, a flash of disdain and mockery in his eyes.

He sneered, "Did you two go at it all night? Now Victoria can't even walk? Be careful, staying up late like that might mess up your kidneys one day."

Victoria's mouth twitched.

Alexander's forehead veins bulged.

She wrapped her arms around Alexander's neck, turned to look at him, and blinked, asking with her eyes, "What's his problem?"

Alexander smiled at her, "Ignore him. He's just jealous of how happy we are. Let's get you something to eat first, or your stomach will be upset later."

Victoria nodded in silence.

Then Alexander carried her to the dining table. Victoria hadn't had breakfast yet, so no matter how urgent Grant's matter was, it had to wait.

Grant's sharply defined lips tightened.

Ten minutes later, on the couch, Alexander originally had her sitting on his lap, but considering Grant's presence and his sour expression, she decided against it.

"Grant, what's up?" Victoria asked innocently after clearing her throat. She had no idea about why he was here.

Grant, with a composed and handsome face, spoke, "She's missing. The last number she contacted was one of your subordinates."

For a moment, Victoria was wondering who this "she" was.

Last night, Kevin's investigation only found that Marlowe had made a call before disappearing.

The owner of that number was someone named Nancy, but they still couldn't trace any whereabouts of Nancy.

Kevin used the same method to check Nancy's call records and found that she had only contacted one number, which happened to be Victoria's.

After hearing Grant's words, Victoria instantly understood.

So Marlowe had already contacted Nancy.

She hadn't checked her phone since getting up, so she didn't know Marlowe had called her again.

Grant thought she would immediately tell him Marlowe's whereabouts, but she said, "Sorry, I can't tell you."

Grant's face suddenly turned icy, and a cold aura emanated from all directions.

But Alexander and Victoria were not ordinary people, so they wouldn't be afraid of this.

Alexander leaned against the back of the sofa, half-hugging Victoria's shoulder, his deep eyes meeting Grant's cold gaze.

Grant's well-defined features tightened as he gritted his teeth and said, "Reason."

Victoria calmly and straightforwardly told him the answer, "I promised Marlowe that I wouldn't tell you her whereabouts."

Grant's mouth twitched. It was the first time someone had spoken to him so righteously.

He couldn't vent his anger, especially with Alexander sitting there, who would undoubtedly side with Victoria.

In the end, Grant waited for several hours, got a bellyful of anger, and left Serenity Grove Manor.
