Chapter 114 Drunkenness
Inside the villa, Grant sat in the study, trying to work on some documents but feeling restless and uneasy.
He checked the time: 11:30 PM. The villa's curfew had passed, but Marlowe still wasn't back. Maybe David was right.
He noticed a beautifully wrapped gift box on the table. His mood darkened, thinking he might be losing it with such childish ideas.
Then, he got a video from a friend with a message: [Grant, is this Marlowe?]
Grant clicked on the two-minute video. Marlowe was on stage, dancing seductively while men cheered and whistled. She blew a kiss to the crowd, causing a wave of screams.
After watching, Grant felt a heavy discomfort. They'd been married for five years, and he never knew she could dance. She seemed to love it.
At the bar, Lila and Victoria were stunned by Marlowe's captivating dance. She looked so beautiful they couldn't take their eyes off her.
After the dance, Marlowe came down from the stage, and the crowd clamored for more.
"Oh my God, Marlowe, your dancing is amazing," Lila said, grabbing her arm excitedly.
Marlowe hadn't danced in a long time but felt like letting loose today.
Victoria added, "Really beautiful dance."
Marlowe was thrilled. It was probably the happiest she'd been in five years, thanks to Lila and Victoria for helping her find herself again.
"I majored in dance in college and made it to the national finals of an international competition, but had to give it up," Marlowe shared.
Lila and Victoria felt it was a pity but understood.
At midnight, Lila and Victoria gave her birthday gifts and a cake Lila had secretly prepared.
Marlowe was touched by the pink cake. She hadn't even thought about it; she was just happy to be with them.
"How can a birthday be without a cake? Make a wish, Marlowe," Lila said, pulling her to the cake.
Marlowe closed her eyes, made a wish, and blew out the candles.
Lila cheered, "Marlowe, happy birthday."
Marlowe, eyes shining, said, "Thank you, thank you both for spending my 28th birthday with me."
Victoria added, "We'll be with you every year from now on."
Marlowe felt the best gift this year was these two friends.
At 2 AM, in the private room, Victoria looked troubled at the sight of drunk Lila and Marlowe.
She had a few drinks but held her liquor well, so she wasn't drunk, just slightly flushed.
She found some hangover medicine for them. She couldn't handle two drunk people alone, especially Lila, who was hard to manage when drunk. She needed to sober them up.
Half an hour later, Marlowe's consciousness returned.
With disheveled hair and a heavy, dizzy head, she pushed herself up from the sofa. She looked at Victoria, who was on her phone.
In a low voice, she asked, "Victoria, what time is it?"
Victoria replied, "2:30 AM. Does your head hurt?"
Marlowe adjusted herself and shook her head. "A bit, but I can handle it."
After resting, she went to the bathroom to wash her face, feeling more awake afterward.
Then the two of them helped Lila out of the private room.
