Chapter 118 Victoria's Attitude

Victoria only found out about Anthony's injury and hospitalization half an hour ago.

Even if Alexander's group hadn't shown up, she would've still gone after Anthony. It was just a matter of who did it.

"So, what kind of explanation are you looking for?" Victoria asked, giving him a cold glance.

Adrian replied, "I already know what happened. Anthony was wrong first. He blocked you and was rude. As his father, I apologize to you and your friend."

Victoria was a bit surprised by his apology. She didn't expect Anthony's father, Adrian, to be so reasonable.

Adrian, known as a philanthropist, seemed like a cultured and fair businessman.

She didn't respond right away because he continued, "You could've given Anthony a mild lesson, but your bodyguards went too far. They broke his hand and leg. Someone has to take responsibility."

Victoria calmly replied, "So, we're at fault? Do you want to break my hands and legs to make it even?"

She didn't think they were wrong. They were just giving Anthony a taste of his own medicine.

She added, "I get it, you have your principles. But hurting Anthony wasn’t our fault. He started it, not my team. I've got it all on video."

Adrian was momentarily speechless.

He then said, "Just hand over the person who injured Anthony, and we can call it even."

Victoria smiled slightly. "I can't do that. Anthony attacked first, and my people acted in self-defense. If he couldn't handle it, that's on him. Even if my people made the first move, it was to protect me. I won't hand them over."

She was firm in protecting her subordinates. No one could easily punish her people.

Adrian didn't expect her to be so stubborn, but she wasn't entirely wrong. The biggest fault lay with Anthony. If he hadn't harassed Victoria, none of this would have happened.

Victoria saw he was reasonable; otherwise, she wouldn't be calmly talking to him.

After returning last night, she had looked into Anthony's past. He was a troublemaker, but he had a good father who cleaned up his messes.

"Anthony is lucky to have a father like you. You know the mess he's made. Even if it wasn't my crew, with his attitude, he was bound to get what’s coming. You can protect him for now, but not forever." Victoria's words hit Adrian hard. He knew it, but what could he do?

Anthony was the only son of the Barnes family.

Adrian had done a lot of charity work to atone for Anthony's wrongdoings.

"I don't understand how someone as upright as you could raise such a son. It's shocking." Victoria questioned, but Adrian's integrity seemed genuine.

This made Adrian feel a bit ashamed.

Then Victoria calmly said, "An heir doesn't have to be male to be qualified."

Adrian looked at her in surprise.

The sentence sounded familiar, like he had heard it before.
