Chapter 260 Victoria's Attitude
Caleb kept sending messages, but got nothing back.
Victoria, breathless and with slightly red eyes from the kiss, leaned against Alexander, needing his support to stay upright.
Arnold, who was standing closest, saw this side of Victoria for the first time. 'So, Vicky can be gentle, obedient, and even shy. Guess she was right. Alexander really does love her.'
He was in a passionate relationship himself, so he got where Alexander was coming from.
Seeing that the two weren't planning to acknowledge him, he cleared his throat, fist near his mouth.
Only then did Alexander look up at him.
Their eyes met, and Alexander's gaze was sharp and intense, like an ice cellar, with a powerful aura spreading around. Arnold's demeanor was gentle and calm, but you could still sense the authority from his high position.
They had similar vibes, but one felt strong and the other gentle.
"Victoria, aren't you going to introduce us?" Alexander asked, looking down at Victoria, who was still leaning against his chest. He hadn't forgotten the scene just now.
First, there was Alan, then Bryan, and now another one. How many guys are around her?
Victoria, having nothing to hide about her relationship with Arnold, softly said, "Arnold Sinclair. He's my friend, like a brother to me."
Alexander frowned. Arnold's name rang a bell.
The youngest governor in Atlanter's history, taking over the whole place at his eighteen.
Alexander wouldn't have cared about a governor he had no dealings with, but a year ago, he had lost nearly a hundred million dollars on Arnold's turf. He wouldn't have lost that money if Arnold hadn't interfered.
Arnold noticed the look on his face and guessed what he was thinking.
Yeah, a year ago, he had ordered the interception of Alexander's shipment, causing him to lose a ton of money.
But back then, Arnold didn't know Alexander would one day become Victoria's husband.
Victoria didn't know about this between them.
She freed herself from Alexander's embrace, cleared her throat, and looked at Arnold, explaining coldly while holding onto Alexander. "My husband, as I mentioned earlier."
Arnold was silent. She was so cold to him but so gentle to Alexander. He felt a bit melancholic inside.
Then he turned his gaze to Alexander, with a meaningful smile in his eyes, "Mr. Howard, I've heard a lot about you. Didn't expect we'd become family one day."
Alexander's deep eyes met his again, and he smiled faintly, "Not exactly family, right?"
Arnold was speechless.
Victoria wondered, 'Is there a grudge? Alexander's words are so sharp.'
She looked at the two with confusion, then turned to Arnold and asked, "Did you provoke him?"
Arnold widened his eyes, "Why is it me provoking him? Couldn't it be him provoking me?"
Victoria said very matter-of-factly, "Because he doesn't easily say such sharp words unless someone provokes him."
Arnold's temple twitched.
She paused before adding, "Besides, you two have no real intersection. He's so busy; he wouldn't go all the way to Atlanter to cause trouble."
Arnold squinted his eyes slightly. 'So, I'm not busy?'
Alexander held her close, a smile playing on his lips, his deep eyes full of affection and love for Victoria.
It was clear Victoria had Alexander's back. Arnold knew that even if it was Alexander's fault, Victoria would still side with him.
"Want that hundred million dollars back? I can have someone transfer it to you right now," Arnold said scathingly, his deep eyes calm, hiding secrets no one else could see.
He was good at hiding his ruthlessness and knew how to keep his dark side in check. Otherwise, he wouldn't have been able to eliminate his rivals and take control of Atlanter at eighteen.
He wasn't as gentle as he seemed on the surface and was more ruthless than he appeared.
But Alexander had been in the business world for years, and his ruthless methods were no less than Arnold's. They were equally matched as a matter of fact.
"That's not necessary. Consider it a meeting gift," Alexander said, in a good mood because of Victoria's loyalty.
That amount of money was nothing to him; he just didn't like what Arnold did back then.
Alexander continued, "If you think it's not enough, I can have someone send you a few more hundred million dollars to improve Atlanter's living standards."
Arnold's mouth twitched. 'He's so arrogant. Is he implying Atlanter's living standards are low?'
Garrett and the others behind him were silent. Alexander was so generous, casually offering a few hundred million dollars just like that.
Victoria chimed in, "If you have so much money, give it to me. Why give it to him? He has money; he has enough to spend."
Her eyes were clear and picturesque, looking like a money-grubber at this moment.
Alexander's eyes were filled with a glimmer of smile as he said, "I am already yours, so naturally, all my things are yours, too. Do I still need to give them to you?"
Her eyebrows curved, and her eyes sparkled as she looked at him playfully. "That's right."
The others still remained silent.
After being scared by Victoria just now, Alexander had no interest in staying at the party.
He took Victoria and left.
They returned to Serenity Grove Manor.
Victoria wanted to go to her room to change into something comfortable, but as soon as she stepped into the closet, Alexander came up behind her, trapping her between him and the wardrobe.
She struggled slightly. "What are you doing? I want to change."
Alexander whispered in her ear, "No need to change; you'll have to take them off soon anyway."
He lightly bit her earlobe, burying his face in her neck, his hot lips landing on her sensitive skin, sending shivers through her body.
Alexander turned her around to face him, pressing his forehead against hers, and said in a low, seductive voice, "Darling, help me take off my clothes."
"No." Victoria's eyes widened instantly, a hint of red and shyness flashing in them. She didn't want to do this.
She had never done this while sober; he usually undressed himself.
Alexander wasn't in a hurry, his lips curling into a smile, his eyebrows raising slightly, revealing a hint of mischief. "Are you sure?"
She turned her head to the side, avoiding his charming and seductive eyes, stubbornly answering, "I'm sure."
Alexander laughed and asked again, "Darling, I'll give you one more chance, or you won't have another one later."
She shook her head. She said no, and she meant it.
