Chapter 275 You Have a Guest

On the way back, Kimberly was behind the wheel.

Victoria suddenly felt a twinge in her back. Probably her period coming soon.

Just then, her phone buzzed.

She glanced at the caller ID. It was Tilly Sullivan, the big shot behind every International Perfumery Competition.

She picked up, and a super enthusiastic voice chirped, "Victoria, have you thought about what we talked about last time?"

Victoria paused, trying to remember what Tilly had said.

She couldn't recall much and figured Tilly wanted her to join the competition again.

Victoria replied, "If it's about participating the competition, I'm not interested."

Tilly, still bubbly, said, "That's not the point. You're the famous mysterious perfumer, Deer. You don't need these low-level competitions to prove yourself."

Victoria's eyebrow twitched. 'Low-level? If this is low-level, what counts as high-level?'

Tilly went on, "I want you to be a judge for the finals."

Victoria shot back, "Didn't you just call this competition low-level?"

Tilly didn't miss a beat, "No, no. If you come, it'll be high-level. I'm seriously inviting you to be a judge, a mysterious one."

Victoria asked, "What if I say no?"

Tilly replied smoothly, "Then I'll just keep asking."

Victoria sighed. Yep, that was Tilly for you. She didn't want to deal with daily calls.

So, Victoria gave in, "Fine, send me the details, and I'll check it out."

Tilly squealed, "Great, I'll send it right now."

Soon, Victoria got a message from Tilly.

She skimmed through it. The finals were coming up soon, and the timing worked for her, but she was still on the fence.

Even though George wasn't in mortal danger, he was definitely in for some trouble.

But she trusted he could handle himself until she found him.

She pressed a button, reclined her seat, and lay back. Sitting was just too uncomfortable.

Kimberly glanced over and, seeing her serious expression, asked, "You okay?"

Victoria, eyes closed, said, "It's nothing, just my period. My back's a bit sore."

Kimberly said, "Rest up. I'll wake you when we get there."

Victoria found a more comfortable position. It was better than sitting, at least.

She felt a bit frustrated, though. It meant she still wasn't pregnant.

Thinking about it, she eventually dozed off.

Kimberly woke her when they arrived at Serenity Grove Manor.

As soon as she stepped out, she saw Caesar squatting nearby, waiting.

She walked over, patted its head, and smiled, "Have you lost weight?"

Caesar nudged her hand, letting out a low whine, like it was saying, "You get me."

Matthew showed up and said, "Mrs. Howard, Caesar's been on a diet. The vet said it was way overweight. Mr. Howard told us to cut back on its meat."

Victoria nodded.

She thought only people needed diets. Who knew tigers did too?

She patted its head again, "Be good and listen."

Caesar drooped its ears. It had hoped its act would get it more meat, but no luck.

Victoria walked into the house and saw Sawyer at the door. She was puzzled, "Sawyer, why are you standing out here in the cold?"

Sawyer smiled warmly, "Mrs. Howard, you have a guest."

Victoria was confused. 'Who's here to see me? I didn't invite anyone.'
