Chapter 358 Who is Mrs. Rodriguez?

Lila squatted down on the ground without any regard for her image, wailing, "I can't walk anymore; I'm too tired."

Owen turned around to her, both amused and helpless.

It was Lila who was curious and wanted to explore, and now she was crying that she was too tired to walk.

And they hadn't even covered a tenth of the place.

Lila started to complain, "This place is ridiculously huge. Now I see how rich Alexander is."

Owen said, "Jealous?"

Lila lifted her head, tilting her chin up to look at him. "I'd have to be out of my mind to be jealous. I don't envy him at all. I still prefer my little apartment."

"Living in such a big place, it always feels empty. There aren't many people around. My place may be small, but it's fully equipped and cozy," Lila said.

Owen said, "Alexander's Serenity Grove Manor is big, but there are plenty of people."

Lila looked puzzled. "Where are they? I didn't see anyone."

When Lila arrived, she only saw the butler, the chef, and a couple of servants near the main building.

Owen looked at her without saying anything for a moment. Lila suddenly felt a chill down her spine, realizing it was late at night.

She quickly got up and jumped onto Owen, hugging him tightly.

"Don't scare me," Lila said, her eyes wide open as she stared at him.

Owen looked at her frightened expression, and he asked with a smile, "Are you scared?"

Lila glared at him. "Of course, who wouldn't be!"

"I'm not scared," Owen said. "I have a talisman."

Owen whispered a few words in her ear, making Lila scream a few times and hug him even tighter.

Seeing that she was genuinely scared, Owen stopped teasing her to avoid giving her nightmares.

"Alright, I was just kidding," Owen said, patting her back gently to comfort her.

Lila clung to him, resting her chin on his broad, strong shoulder, shaking her head to show she didn't believe him.

Owen explained again, "There are indeed many people. Serenity Grove Manor has a rule that servants stop working at six and can't loiter around the manor. They all return to their own quarters, and those who want to leave use the back door. Besides Sawyer and Molly, there are a few other servants in the main building."

It took Lila a while to calm down after hearing his explanation.

"Owen! You scared me on purpose!" Lila let go of him and punched him in the chest in anger.

Owen grunted, and he said shamelessly, "Are you trying to kill your future husband?"

Lila was speechless.

Ignoring him, she turned and started walking back on her own.

"Aren't you afraid to walk alone?" Owen called out from behind.

Lila retorted, "You're scarier than any ghost!"

Back at the main building, Lila went to complain to Victoria.

She had been genuinely scared just now.

Lila had always been brave, but this was the one thing that bravery couldn't help with.

Victoria was surprised to hear that Owen could be so childish.

"By the way, darling, last time I said I wanted to see your mighty bodyguard Poppy. Where is it?" Lila asked, having not seen it during their walk.

Poppy?

If Caesar knew he had such a cute name, would he be happy or sad?

"Caesar has his own designated area and usually doesn't come out," Victoria explained.

Designated area?

Lila was stunned. How extravagant!

"I want to know how big this designated area is," she asked.

Victoria said, "Besides the main building, there are four areas in the east, south, west, and north. Each area has different residents, and Caesar occupies the entire northern area." She paused, "And the entire back mountain is Caesar's activity range."

Lila was speechless, feeling like she was living worse than an animal.

To satisfy Lila's curiosity, Victoria asked the butler to have Matthew bring Caesar over.

When Caesar saw Victoria, he acted like a happy child seeing his mother, obediently lying at her feet and nuzzling her leg.

Lila stood behind Victoria, still a bit scared. She had seen real tigers before, but this was the first time she was so close without any protective barriers.

The scene in front of her left her both surprised and speechless.

Lila's mouth twitched. "Darling, are you sure it's not a giant loyal dog?"

Victoria glanced at her. "Does it look like a dog to you?"

Lila replied, "It doesn't look like one, but it must have been a dog in its past life."

What kind of tiger behaved exactly like a dog?

She had never seen one before.

"Mrs. Rodriguez, only you would dare to call Alexander's tiger a dog," Caleb joked from the side.

"Who's Mrs. Rodriguez?" Lila turned to Caleb.

Without thinking, Caleb replied, "That would be you, of course."

Lila ignored him and turned her gaze to Owen, her eyes filled with a mischievous smile. "So, it's up to me, right?"

Owen looked at her, feeling helpless.

Lila was still angry about Owen scaring her earlier and was showing off her authority.

And once again, the slow-reacting Caleb got caught in the middle.

Caleb commented, "I feel like a third wheel. Why do you have to involve me in your game?"

Lila, being straightforward, said, "You also offended me just now."

Caleb was speechless.

Caleb then looked at the calm Owen, his eyes filled with confusion, as if asking, "You still haven't settled things? You're not doing well."

Owen ignored Caleb.

They stayed until 9:30 PM before Alexander kicked them out, saying he needed to rest.

In the master bedroom of the main building, Victoria glanced at the closed bathroom door, listening to the sound of running water.

Victoria got out of bed, took her phone, and went to the balcony, sitting on a lounge chair outside. She then dialed a number.

After a few rings, someone answered, but it was a woman.
