Chapter 380 Listen to You
At the KT Club, prominent figures gathered. The entire club was off-limits to outsiders, with only staff allowed inside.
"What are you all doing at this crappy club so early in the morning?" Caleb yawned, still sleepy, with dark circles under his eyes.
He had been called over by a phone call from Garrett.
Garrett didn't explain what it was about, just said that if he didn't come, he shouldn't blame him for not telling him later.
So he struggled to get out of bed and rushed over.
When he arrived, he saw everyone was already there.
Alexander, Victoria, Owen, and Lila were all present, even Grant, who had been a bit elusive lately, was there.
Garrett looked at him disdainfully. "At this time, the sun is so hot it could roast you! What did you do last night to be this tired?"
Caleb yawned again before replying, "I went to Mystic River Tavern last night for business, ran into a drunk, got tangled up for three hours, and got puked on. I didn't get home to sleep until dawn."
Garrett teased, "Was the drunk a man or a woman?"
Caleb gave him a wary look. "None of your business!"
Since when did Garrett become so nosy?
Victoria didn't have time to listen to their bickering. They were at KT Club today because of Grant's arrangement.
The reason was the bet she and he had made that day.
"Grant, you didn't bring me here to compete in all the club's activities, did you?" Victoria asked, looking at Grant.
Grant's eyes narrowed slightly, his voice low and cold, "No, we just need to compete in one."
Everyone present, except for Caleb who was confused, knew what Victoria and Grant were talking about.
"What are you talking about?" Caleb scratched the back of his head, looking puzzled. "I don't understand what you're saying."
No one paid him any attention.
Victoria continued, "Alright, Grant, you say it. Whatever it is, I'm game."
Grant didn't answer her immediately but looked at Alexander, who was standing protectively by her side.
"Alexander, let's be clear; this time, you can't interfere," he said.
Alexander agreed quite readily, "Alright."
Grant was a bit taken aback. Alexander wouldn't play any tricks, would he?
Alexander was very cunning!
Victoria reassured him, "Don't worry, Grant, he won't interfere. If he does, I'll have him give you all the shares of Vertex Holdings Group."
Everyone was stunned.
Did she know how many billions of dollars the shares of Vertex Holdings Group were worth?
Could she just give them away like that?
But Alexander, the head of Vertex Holdings Group, didn't even blink and agreed, "Whatever you say."
He was just too indulgent with her.
"You choose." In the end, Grant acted like a true gentleman and let Victoria choose the event they would compete in, assuring her that he was fine with anything.
Victoria didn't hesitate. After a moment of silence, she said slowly, "I've heard your shooting skills are excellent, so let's compete in that."
Grant squinted at her, a hint of surprise in his deep eyes. "Are you sure?"
She nodded. "Sure."
"Victoria, do you know how to shoot?" Caleb asked curiously.
After all, Grant's shooting skills were the best among them.
Even Alexander could only tie with him.
Not to mention her, a woman who had never even touched a gun.
Except for Kimberly, who had seen a gun in Victoria's car, no one else had seen it.
But Kimberly had never seen her shoot, so she didn't know how good Victoria's shooting was.
However, based on past experiences, Victoria always gave surprising performances, and she thought this time would be no exception.
Even Alexander was slightly taken aback, but he didn't say anything.
His wife always liked to surprise him, and this time was probably no exception.
He looked at Grant with a bit of sympathy.
Grant was baffled by his sudden look.
Victoria was in a good mood this time and replied to Caleb, "Yes."
Shooting range.
Only the two of them were inside.
Everyone else was watching from outside.
Victoria looked at the fixed targets outside the shooting range.
She smiled slyly and turned to Grant. "Grant, if we're going to compete, let's make it a bit more challenging."
Grant glanced at her. "How do you want to play?"
"Change the targets to moving ones."
Grant raised an eyebrow, finding it interesting. "You don't want to win against me?"
She kept increasing the difficulty.
Victoria raised an eyebrow and chuckled. "Why do you say that?"
"Since you know my shooting skills, why choose this?" he said, "Even Alexander isn't sure he can beat me."
Victoria said confidently and assertively, "How will we know the result if we don't compete? Just 'cause Alexander can't beat you doesn't mean I can't."
Grant was genuinely impressed with her.
She had managed to hide Marlowe from him in Rihegde, and now she was confidently saying she would win against him.
"It seems you really are a good match for Alexander," Grant said, "Your personality, your temper, even the way you talk—they're all pretty much the same. Only people like you could be a couple."
Victoria's expression didn't change. "So you're saying you and Marlowe can't be a couple?" After a pause, she added, "If you're not a good match, why don't you let go?"
Grant was speechless. How did it come back to him and Marlowe?
Victoria thought of the information she had previously investigated.
She casually asked, "Grant, do you know Marlowe and Abigail are half-sisters?"
He said, "I know."
Then, she asked another seemingly unrelated question, "Do you really understand what happened between them?"
Grant frowned slightly. "What do you mean?"
