Chapter 425 This Is a Trap

Gideon looked incredulous, but it was the truth.

Alexander, standing nearby, frowned slightly upon hearing this.

He said in a deep voice, "What's going on?"

Gideon's face darkened. "Just now, someone from Shadow Reapers Two reported that Jonathan was captured by a woman."

He frowned and continued, "They said a woman climbed up from the cliff, claiming she was there to gather herbs and would leave after she was done. Since she wasn't within their mission's target range, they didn't take any action against her. But they didn't expect what happened next."

Alexander pressed his thin lips together. "Just one person?"

"Yes."

Gideon was puzzled. Who was this woman?

She could capture Jonathan alive and leave unscathed from Shadow Reapers Two.

He didn't know whether to praise this woman for her prowess or scold the Shadow Reapers Two for underestimating her!

"However, they said the woman had no ill intentions and only captured Jonathan to ensure her safe departure," Gideon added.

After walking for about half an hour, Victoria noticed no one was following her and released Jonathan. "Alright, this is far enough."

She also returned the handgun she had taken from him.

Jonathan looked at her, genuinely puzzled.

"Who exactly are you? Why are you here?" he asked.

Victoria lowered her eyelids slightly, a faint smile on her lips, her tone cold. "You don't need to know who I am."

She glanced at him, her eyes narrowing slightly. "I'm curious about who you are."

She glanced at the emblem on his chest, finding it increasingly familiar but couldn't recall where she had seen it.

Suddenly, their expressions changed.

Victoria pulled him into a nearby bush.

Through the gaps, they saw people emerging from a pile of grass not far away.

"Cecil, it's about another hour and a half to the coast," one of the men said.

Victoria narrowed her eyes, surprised to encounter them here.

If it weren't for the earlier incident, she would have been ahead of them.

Jonathan's eyes also turned sharp upon seeing them.

So, they were taking this route.

Cecil's rough voice sounded, "Pick up the pace."

The helicopter had just flown over this jungle, and he wasn't sure if they had been exposed, but they hadn't encountered anyone for a while.

But they couldn't let their guard down.

"But these two kids are too slow," Vincent said.

Cecil glanced at the little boy and girl, chewing on a piece of grass. "Lloyd, Glenn Cole, each of you carry one child."

The little girl immediately showed her reluctance, stepping back to avoid them.

She said disdainfully, "I don't want you to carry me; you stink."

Glenn, who was being scorned, looked fierce. "It's not up to you."

He then grabbed the little girl and hoisted her onto his shoulder.

"Bad man, put me down! I don't want you to carry me." The little girl kicked wildly on his shoulder, clearly agitated.

The little boy, watching this, didn't know what to say.

But he refused help, "I don't need it; I can walk by myself."

He glanced at the girl being carried and reminded them, " She won't be able to take it, especially with her stomach. If she feels unwell later, you'll have more trouble."

This sister was quite a handful; he had already experienced it.

As soon as he finished speaking, everyone heard the little girl crying, "I feel like throwing up. Bad man, put me down!"

The man carrying her was annoyed by her cries.

Then everyone heard the sound of retching.

If it weren't for the fact that the little girl was quite cute, these rough men would have abandoned her long ago.

And since they had orders to bring the children back and report to their superiors, they didn't dare to act rashly.

Victoria, hiding in the bushes, observed the little boy. He was quite calm, which was a rarity.

They didn't stay long and continued forward with the two children.

Victoria waited for a while after they left before getting up to follow.

"Wait." Jonathan called out to her, "Are they your target?"

Victoria just glanced at him and then turned away without hesitation.

As soon as she left, Jonathan pressed a black button on his waist and then got up to follow.

Victoria, halfway through following, encountered Eugene, Marigold, Russell, and others who had caught up.

"Where's Thomas?" She didn't see Thomas and Kimberly.

Marigold said, "We split into two teams. Mr. Taylor took the other team to find you from the other side. They should still be behind."

"Victoria, we just received another message," Marigold said, "There are more than six of them this time. There should be more of their people in this jungle. We already dealt with a few when we caught up. They all had the same 103 tattoo."

Victoria frowned. She hadn't encountered any of them.

She suddenly felt this wasn't so simple.

And those camouflaged people ambushed at the cliff, they were clearly waiting for someone.

They couldn't have been there for no reason.

What had she missed?

At this moment, she suddenly realized everything seemed too coincidental.

If this was a trap, who set it?

And what was the purpose?

Moreover, her movements had always been secretive, unless someone had leaked her whereabouts.

She furrowed her brows subtly. She couldn't possibly suspect anyone from the O Alliance. So what was really going on?

"Victoria, what's wrong?"
