Chapter 387 Is This Really Okay?

Not far away, Kevin and Cillian watched the scene unfold, both thinking the same thing, 'Are these two big shots going to fight?'

After all, the conversation didn't seem pleasant.

Seeing that Grant had laid out the evidence in front of him, Elliot couldn't pretend not to know Marlowe. "Mr. Scott, if you don't love her, why not let her go?"

Grant frowned tightly at these words. Why did everyone keep saying this?

Previously, he had avoided answering, but this time he responded to Elliot.

He squinted. "How did you come to know that I don't love her?"

Elliot was slightly taken aback. He glanced at Grant, not understanding his meaning, but still said, "Isn't it common knowledge? It's said that Mr. Scott loves someone else."

Grant kicked a nearby chair, sending it crashing to the ground with a loud noise.

Kevin and Cillian looked over, startled.

Cillian, seeing the somewhat furious Grant, whispered to Kevin, "Is Mr. Scott always this bad-tempered?"

Kevin didn't refute him and even agreed, "Yes, especially since Mrs. Scott started the divorce proceedings. It's been getting worse by the day." He looked at Cillian, "So, Cillian, you better tell me where Mrs. Scott is. Otherwise, you won't see me again."

Cillian remained silent.

Kevin tried to get more information out of him.

"I don't know."

Kevin said, "Our friendship is over."

Cillian stayed silent.

On the other side, Marlowe, who had just settled down, was unaware of what was happening.

She didn't want to think about anything right now, just wanted to peacefully give birth to her baby.

She didn't even want to think about whether she could divorce Grant.

As long as Grant didn't agree, she would continue to stand her ground.

After all, she had nothing to lose. She didn't need to remarry.

"Marlowe, I'm going to the market to buy some groceries. I'll be back soon."

"Wait for me, I'll change my clothes and go with you," Marlowe called out from the yard.

"Okay, take your time; don't rush. You're still pregnant."

Olivia Smith was a nanny Elliot had found for her, responsible for her daily needs.

Actually, Marlowe could manage on her own, but having someone around was nice. She wouldn't feel so lonely, and Olivia, being a local, could help her get familiar with the place quickly.

Olivia saw that Marlowe was beautiful, gentle, and elegant, with a refined and cultured demeanor, clearly a well-bred lady from a wealthy family.

At first, she thought Marlowe was a delicate, pampered rich lady who couldn't do anything. But after a day, she changed her mind.

Last night, Marlowe cooked a lot of delicious food without needing any help. Olivia just watched as Marlowe skillfully prepared everything, clearly experienced.

Marlowe went out with Olivia.

This small town had a strong, vibrant atmosphere with a touch of retro charm. There were no modern buildings.

The tallest buildings were only six stories high.

There were no luxury cars or sedans; everyone walked or rode bicycles or electric scooters.

The roads were mostly paved with cobblestones, giving it a unique charm. Every alley had many shops.

Everything was available here, even some trinkets that couldn't be found in big cities.

Olivia said that most of the residents were locals, with few outsiders visiting except for tourists.

Marlowe fell in love with the place after a stroll.

This represented one of her ideal lifestyles: a quiet, simple life, yet full of vibrancy. It was livelier than big cities, with a unique warmth from the people.

Maybe it was because she was pregnant, beautiful, and gentle, that many people took care of her and greeted her warmly.

Gradually, she got to know the locals and became familiar with them.

A week later.

Since returning from Wind Sleep Villa, Victoria had stayed home for a week.

She only went out occasionally but quickly returned.

One day, she received a call from Howard Villa, saying that Nathan had fallen and she needed to come back quickly.

The incident happened suddenly, and she didn't have time to ask about the severity of the injury. But from the butler Micah's tone, it seemed serious.

She didn't even have time to inform Alexander and drove back to Howard Villa alone.

Meanwhile, Alexander was in a meeting when someone from Howard Villa called him away, leaving in a hurry.

At Howard Villa, in Nathan's yard.

"Dad, is this really okay?" Saskia asked.
