Chapter 492 Can You Teach Me How to Fight?

Alexander, confined to his hospital bed, narrowed his eyes as he watched Ezra holding Victoria's hand. A flash of obvious displeasure crossed his face. If he could move, he would certainly go over there and teach that boy a lesson!

Meanwhile, the Knox couple stood there stunned. Ever since Ezra had been rescued, he'd been constantly talking about some "cool, beautiful lady" who had saved him. They hadn't thought much of it, assuming she was someone Alexander had sent.

But now they discovered this person was actually Alexander's wife.

Lavinia was particularly taken aback. Victoria had been in those dangerous woods that day? And had coincidentally rescued Ezra? Why would she have been there in the first place? Why would Alexander have brought her along?

In truth, Lavinia's knowledge of Victoria was limited. She only knew that Victoria wasn't particularly favored by the Kennedy family, and that she held a few impressive titles. But in Lavinia's mind, how could someone raised in such a dysfunctional family possibly be worthy of someone as exceptional as Alexander?

Ezra had witnessed Victoria fighting firsthand. Initially scared, he had quickly become impressed by her skill and confidence. In his family's traditional view, girls were supposed to be elegant and graceful, like his mother and sister.

"Beautiful lady, can you teach me how to fight?" Ezra asked with genuine enthusiasm.

His eyes were practically shining with admiration. Victoria had become his idol.

Victoria thought she must be hearing things. She remained silent.

Everyone else fell silent too.

After a moment, Victoria cleared her throat awkwardly.

She understood the situation now.

"Well, fighting isn't something children should do. Your main job right now should be studying hard," Victoria said.

Ezra, only eight years old, was the Knox couple's late-in-life child whom they had always protected carefully. He was constantly surrounded by bodyguards, but in his mind, none of them were as impressive as Victoria.

Her fighting skills had truly amazed him. He was determined to stick close to her.

"Then, beautiful lady, could you teach me some self-defense?" he tried another approach. "I really like you, and I want to learn martial arts from you."

Victoria could tell he wasn't a child without his own thoughts. On the contrary, he was both brave and clever.

She just hadn't expected that the boy she had rescued by chance would turn out to be so clingy!

Marcus was dumbfounded, thinking, 'Victoria really does charm people of all ages!'

From what he'd heard, Ezra was quite the little tyrant. Few could control him, not even the Knox couple present. This was largely because he was the only boy of his generation in the Harrison family, treasured by everyone.

As Lavinia listened to Ezra's words, her eyes instantly grew cold.

Ezra had never spoken to her so politely. At home, he was always a little terror.

Only when she made deals with him would he show her any respect in public.

But now he was being so nice to Victoria, even acting cute!

She stood up and walked over.

She intended to pull him away, but Ezra, anticipating her move, shifted slightly, leaving her hand hanging awkwardly in mid-air.

Lavinia, dressed in ladylike attire with high heels, certainly appeared more formal compared to Victoria's casual outfit.

Yet despite this, her presence was considerably less commanding.

As for looks, Victoria outshined her completely.

Lavinia forced a smile and said, "Miss Kennedy, Ezra is young and doesn't know any better. Please don't take what he said seriously."

"I never expected that you were the one who rescued Ezra. I thank you on his behalf," she added.

Then she sternly addressed Ezra, "Ezra, come here."

Ezra shook his head, refusing to budge.

Victoria glanced at her and responded with a casual smile. "It's no big deal."

Lavinia paused, momentarily silenced. "Wasn't it Alexander who asked you to save Ezra?" she finally asked.

Victoria found Lavinia's familiar way of addressing Alexander rather irritating.

With a slight smirk, she replied, "I had no idea he was from the Harrison family. I was just passing through the area and happened to rescue him. That's all."

She spoke casually, as if the whole incident was trivial—saving someone was as simple as drinking water.

Lavinia was displeased with Victoria's somewhat haughty attitude but didn't know how to respond.

At this point, Knox stepped forward and said, "Regardless, we must thank you, Mrs. Howard, for saving Ezra. Since returning, he's been telling us about the beautiful lady who rescued him. At first, we thought he was just talking nonsense from the shock, but it turns out he was telling the truth."

He directly addressed Victoria by her married title, in stark contrast to Lavinia's earlier form of address.

And while Lavinia had implied that Alexander was responsible for saving Ezra, Knox had now completely contradicted her statement.

This left Lavinia feeling rather embarrassed.

Victoria wasn't familiar with the Harrison family, but Knox clearly seemed like a reasonable person.

She responded with a polite smile, "Mr. Ezra Harrison may be young, but he's very intelligent. He remained calm when facing the criminals and knew how to protect himself. He was also very well-behaved and obedient. You've clearly raised him well."
