Chapter 73 Alexander Defends Victoria!
In the Howard family, everyone feared Alexander and Nathan, but they were also scared of Saskia.
Saskia was known for her independence. She feared no one and fiercely protected her family.
In the elite circle, no one dared to cross her. In the Howard family, she was adored by Preston and had a son, Alexander, whom everyone respected. She also had the backing of the powerful Cooper family, involved in politics and the military.
"Saskia, Neil is your nephew. She's just an outsider," Lester argued, hoping for a chance.
"A daughter-in-law is closer than a nephew. She's recognized by our whole family. How can she be an outsider?" Saskia said, linking arms with Victoria.
Lester looked at her in disbelief as she defended Victoria.
Victoria glanced gratefully at Saskia, who gently patted her hand, signaling her not to worry.
Since Esme's death, only Thalia and Lila had trusted and defended her. Saskia's support was surprising, given they were all Howard family members.
No one expected Saskia to defend Victoria and declare her as Alexander's recognized wife.
Lester suddenly said, "Saskia, don't forget, Alexander is engaged to the Harrison family."
Victoria's eyebrows furrowed, and her heart tightened.
Alexander was engaged?
Saskia quickly noticed Victoria's subtle change. No one could destroy Victoria and Alexander's marriage without regretting it.
She smiled elegantly at Lester, "Engagement? Alexander never acknowledged it. You decided that on your own. If you want to marry into the Harrison family, don't you have sons of your own?" Saskia asked coldly.
Lester's face twitched with anger. He looked at Preston, hoping for support, but Preston's gaze stayed on Saskia, showing no intention of intervening.
Everyone knew Preston adored Saskia.
"What's going on here? So lively?" Landon suddenly appeared.
"Landon, Victoria is being bullied. Get over here," Saskia commanded.
Everyone looked at the disheveled Neil on the ground and then at the unscathed Victoria. Who was bullying whom?
Landon's voice raised, "Which idiot has a death wish?"
He looked at the disheveled Neil, the gloomy-faced Lester, and the sorrowful Celine, exclaiming, "It's Neil."
Victoria and Saskia couldn't help but twitch their mouths. Landon's acting was too clumsy and exaggerated.
"What happened? So disheveled? And all wet," Landon asked and answered himself, "Did you fall into the pond?"
Everyone stayed silent.
Landon continued, "You're an adult. Are your eyes on top of your head? Falling in is what you deserve. Be more careful next time." Landon lectured.
Even an idiot could understand his sarcasm. Landon did it so well they couldn't refute him.
"That bitch seduced my son first," Celine angrily pointed at Victoria and cursed.
As soon as she finished, a chilling aura spread, making everyone's spine tingle.
"My wife seduced your son?" A cold, bone-chilling voice filled with hostility pierced Celine's ears.
Alexander appeared out of nowhere, standing out in the crowd. His presence was commanding, making everyone else seem insignificant. His aura made people instinctively fear him.
Seeing Alexander, Saskia stepped aside.
Alexander, exuding coldness, walked to Victoria's side. Under everyone's gaze, he wrapped his arm around her waist, slightly lowered his head, and gently stared at her, speaking softly, "Sorry, I was a bit late."
Victoria smiled, "It's okay, you're right on time."
Alexander's "sorry" shocked everyone. He was known for his decisive and cold demeanor. How could he ever be so humble? And the gentleness he showed was unbelievable.
Some began to pray for Neil. It seemed he had gotten himself into big trouble.
Alexander's handsome face, perfect in its features, was both awe-inspiring and terrifying.
He slowly turned his head, looking at Celine and Neil on the ground, his deep eyes filled with piercing coldness and hostility. In a chilling voice, he said, "From now on, these two are not allowed to step into Howard Villa ever again!"
Celine and Neil felt as if their blood had frozen, their bodies trembling.
Everyone else was shocked. Were they really being expelled just like that?
Lester quickly said, "Alexander, how can you do this?"
Alexander narrowed his cold eyes, glancing at him with an icy, emotionless tone, "Lester, you wanna be like them?!"
Hearing this, Lester shut his mouth.
Alexander always acted swiftly and decisively. He was like a noble king, issuing solemn commands, "Now that everyone's here, let me be clear that from now on, show Victoria the same respect you show me!"
The Howard family members were stunned. This statement was too shocking.
The head of the Howard family held a noble status. Historically, the wives of the heads had important positions, but none as high as the head himself. Alexander's words meant Victoria would enjoy the same rights as him!
Victoria was stunned. This wasn't appropriate, was it?
It seemed they had all underestimated Victoria's abilities. What kind of charm did she possess to make Alexander dote on her so much?
After speaking, Alexander took Victoria's hand and left the viewing platform, ignoring their discussions. However, they didn't dare to discuss it openly.
"Mom, Alexander really loves Victoria, doesn't he?" Landon whispered to Saskia as he watched the two leave.
Saskia's face was full of smiles, excitedly saying, "That's my son, looking so handsome while defending his wife."
Landon remained silent.
"Have you ever seen Alexander joke?" Saskia glared at him, speaking irritably.
Landon shrugged and grinned. "I haven't had that chance yet."
Saskia rolled her eyes at him, threatening, "If Alexander and Victoria argue, I won't forgive you."
Hearing this, Landon protested, "What does that have to do with me? You have to give me a reason, right? She's Alexander's wife, not mine!"
"I don't care. I'll just blame you, so you better pray they don't have any issues," Saskia ignored his protest.
Landon felt very wronged. Sometimes he even doubted if he was her biological son.
"Mom, was I picked up from some street?" Landon asked.
"No, I found you in the bathroom," Saskia replied.
