Chapter 531 Who Cares

Before leaving, Alexander insisted on carrying Atticus himself when Victoria reached for him. She didn't argue, simply turning to pick up their daughter instead.

But the moment Alexander lifted Atticus, the boy promptly soiled his diaper—thoroughly.

Though the diaper contained the mess, this wasn't an isolated incident.

It seemed Atticus had developed an unfortunate habit: whenever Alexander held him, this happened.

It had occurred several times in a row now.

"Darling, Atticus doesn't mean anything by it," Victoria offered weakly. "Perhaps there's just something about you that... stimulates his digestive system."

Alexander's face remained dark with silent displeasure.

Victoria sighed, looking down at her chubby son. She teased, "Oh Atticus, already on your father's bad side at such a young age. What will you do when Mommy can't always protect you?"

Upon arriving at the Howard estate, Preston and Saskia immediately whisked the twins away to meet the guests. The couple didn't see their children again until the special interaction ceremony the family had prepared.

In the spacious living room, a large, plush carpet had been laid out, covered with an array of objects for the children to interact with: paintbrushes, books, rulers, cosmetics, musical instruments, model airplanes and cars, electronic devices, cash, food, and—most significantly—the Howard family seal.

The collection was impressively diverse, capturing everyone's attention.

Preston and Saskia approached, each carrying one of the babies, and gently placed them on the carpet.

The two plump little babies sat obediently, remarkably calm despite the crowd watching them.

Nathan observed his great-grandchildren from his seat of honor, his face beaming with pride.

"Sweetheart, our daughter looks just like you did as a baby. So adorable," Alexander whispered, his arm around Victoria's waist.

Victoria smiled, her eyes twinkling as she looked at him. "And our son is your spitting image. Given how much he resembles you, perhaps you could forgive his little accidents? He's just a baby who doesn't know any better."

Victoria never missed an opportunity to advocate for her son's redemption.

Alexander remained silent.

Nearby, Lila gazed adoringly at the twins. "God, I wish I could take my godson and goddaughter home for a few days. They're just too precious!"

Owen put his arm around her. "If you want children so badly, we could always have our own."

"No," Lila insisted. "I just want these two."

Owen fell silent.

The ceremony began.

Saskia crouched beside the babies and whispered, "Go ahead, my little treasures. Choose whatever you like."

The twins, not understanding but excited nonetheless, waved their arms happily. Atticus grinned widely while Yasmin blew tiny bubbles with her mouth.

Lila and Landon positioned themselves on either side, gently encouraging the siblings to reach for the items.

The guests began murmuring encouragement, keeping their voices low to avoid startling the children.

Atticus moved first, crawling forward. He grabbed a musical instrument, then immediately tossed it aside. Next came the cash and paintbrushes, both quickly discarded.

Bypassing the family seal entirely, he seized a model airplane and then sat contentedly in place, refusing to move further.

Landon was visibly disappointed. After all those options, the boy had chosen a mere toy and ignored the seal—the symbol of the Howard Group and family legacy—even though it had been right in front of him.

Alexander and Victoria seemed unbothered by their son's choice.

All eyes turned to Yasmin.

She remained seated where they'd placed her, babbling happily with Lila.

"Sweet Yasmin, Godmother will play with you more later, but first, why don't you choose something you like?" Lila suggested, pointing to the items.

Patiently guided, Yasmin seemed to understand and began moving forward.

Unlike her brother, she was direct—ignoring everything in her path until she reached the family seal.

The room held its collective breath.

"Surely the Howard princess isn't going for the seal?" someone whispered.

As if in answer, Yasmin smiled and reached out her tiny hand, firmly grasping the seal.

A collective gasp followed by silence filled the room.

"That's my daughter," Alexander said proudly.

Nathan roared with laughter. "Excellent! Our Howard daughter proves she's every bit as ambitious as any boy. She has vision!"

Applause erupted throughout the room.

The twins, oblivious to the significance of what had just transpired, simply smiled along with everyone else.
