Chapter 238 Happy With My Answer
Marlowe said to take Stephanie home first.
Stephanie just blurted out the name of a neighborhood, which, funny enough, was the same one where Lila lived, near North Courtyard.
Marlowe's head was still spinning from what she just saw, so she didn't even notice what kind of fancy place Stephanie lived in.
Habitants living in Elmrest Apartments were usually loaded and took both money and some serious luck for a family to get one.
Victoria didn't really know Stephanie, so she didn't bother asking too many questions.
After they dropped both of them off, Victoria finally turned to Alexander on the driver's seat, and asked the question that had been bugging her, "Who was that woman Grant was holding?"
Alexander, with his long, elegant fingers on the wheel, glanced at her all innocent-like. "No clue. Want me to call and find out?"
Victoria's tone made it sound like Alexander was the one cheating. He felt all wronged and stuff. Plus, they usually stayed out of Grant's business.
"No need to call. Marlowe clearly doesn't want Grant to know she saw this." Victoria sighed. They had to act like they hadn't seen a thing.
Then she hit him with another question, "You've known Grant forever. What do you think are the odds he's cheating?"
Alexander paused, stopped the car at a red light, turned to her, and said super seriously, "I would never do that. In this lifetime, it's just you for me. My heart's all yours."
That sudden confession made her heart skip a beat.
She playfully swatted away the hand he was reaching out with and pretended to be mad. "Seriously. I'm asking about Grant."
Alexander's hand came back, cupping the back of Victoria's head and pulling her in for a kiss on her rosy lips.
He looked into her eyes again and said earnestly, "I'm serious."
Faced with his deep affection, Victoria couldn't help but blush. The more embarrassed she got, the more she wanted to change the subject. "Alright, I believe you. Happy now? Can you analyze Grant's situation for me?"
Alexander didn't want to drop it and asked again, "What about you?"
"What?" she asked, confused.
"What do you think?" Alexander raised an eyebrow, a playful glint in his eyes. He didn't spell it out; he wanted her to say it.
Suddenly, Victoria got it.
Seeing his persistent look, like he wouldn't let it go until she said it, and considering they were at an intersection, she didn't want a traffic cop knocking on their window.
Victoria was quiet for a few seconds, bit her lip, made up her mind, and cupped his face with her hands. Her gaze was firm yet shy as she looked into his deep, playful, and alluring eyes.
"In this lifetime, I only want to be your wife. My eyes and heart are full of you, no room for anyone else." Then Victoria leaned in and kissed Alexander's cool lips.
"Happy with my answer?" She raised an eyebrow slightly, her eyes filled with a hint of playful charm. Her clear and melodious voice, with its ups and downs, reached his ears and went straight to his heart, making it tingle.
Alexander's right hand, which was cupping the back of her head, tightened and gently stroked her hair.
His deep eyes gradually filled with a layer of desire.
Alexander's most primal desire was out in the open, strong, playful, and alluring.
Victoria was startled. She hadn't done anything crazy, just said a few words, and Alexander was already turned on?
She glanced at the traffic light; there were three seconds left on the red light.
She reminded him, "It's green."
