Chapter 91 Ignatius Doesn't Like Alexander
Once they hit the top floor, Ignatius led the way, holding Victoria's arm, with Alexander and the others trailing behind.
Caleb, recalling the scene downstairs, smirked and said, "Alexander, looks like Ignatius isn't too fond of you."
Before Alexander could respond, Ignatius, usually shy around strangers, snapped, "Mind your own business."
Caleb and Garrett burst out laughing. Seeing Alexander so flustered was a rare treat.
The mighty head of the Howard family, usually untouchable, was getting lip from a kid. Even Victoria was caught off guard by Ignatius's boldness.
Alexander's eyes zeroed in on Ignatius's hand gripping Victoria's arm. If he could, he'd have cut it off. But he had promised Victoria not to hold grudges against Ignatius.
So he kept his cool, reminding himself Ignatius was just a kid.
"Even if he's not happy, so what? We're married!" Alexander said coldly, his face blank.
Garrett chuckled, "Don't forget, there's always divorce."
Alexander sneered, "Who'd dare handle my divorce?"
Garrett was momentarily speechless, giving a "you win" look.
Caleb thought Ignatius was pretty sharp. The kid knew how to compete for attention and wasn't afraid of Alexander. Seeing Alexander frustrated was priceless.
"I heard you took Victoria to meet the family? Aren't you worried they'll use her against you?" Caleb asked.
The Howard family looked peaceful, but it was a mess underneath. Even as head, Alexander faced constant threats. Before, he had no weak spots, but now that he showed he cared for Victoria, she'd be a target. The family was ruthless.
Alexander's eyes were cold and sharp. "They won't get the chance!"
In the private room, as Victoria and the others sat down, the manager brought in Colin.
Caleb and Garrett recognized Colin from the news. They were surprised to learn Victoria was actually Amy.
Amy was a big name in music circles seven years ago. The Garcia Group's music company signed singers, and Amy did most of the arrangements and lyrics. She only worked when the pay was good and she felt like it.
Over the years, the Garcia Group spent a lot on her, but no one had seen her face. Caleb never expected Amy to be Alexander's wife, Victoria.
She wasn't just a CEO of a medium-sized company with a foothold in the perfume market, but also a famous composer and the wife of the Howard family head. Her life was enviably perfect.
Colin didn't expect to be dining with the heirs of the Stellaria family. Victoria sure had some impressive friends, just like him.
When Lila and Owen showed up together, Caleb sensed something was up.
"You two an item?" he asked, squinting at them.
Owen, always looking polished with his gold-rimmed glasses, replied calmly, "Just as you think."
Caleb and Garrett were stunned. They never saw this coming. Owen and Lila seemed to have no connection, and now they were together? It was a shocker.
Alexander and Owen were the least likely to have girlfriends because they were so aloof. Now, one was married, and the other had a girlfriend, while Caleb and Garrett were still single.
What they didn't know, but Lila did, was that Owen, who seemed so gentle, was a different person in bed. Just thinking about it made her blush.
"Why are you two so chill?" Caleb asked Alexander and Victoria.
Alexander replied calmly, "Because we were witnesses!"
Caleb and Garrett were dumbfounded.
So they were the only ones out of the loop.
Lila remembered Alexander overhearing her chat with Victoria, making her feel super embarrassed. She had never felt so awkward.
Everyone was surprised she and Owen got together so quickly, but after a few days, she thought it was worth a shot.
Lucas was shocked to learn Victoria and Alexander knew each other. He couldn't wrap his head around it.
That evening, Clara came looking for him because he hadn't responded all day. She was worried and went to the Tudor Group to find him.
She explained what happened, and Lucas, who trusted her completely, made her feek relieved.
Lying in Lucas's arms, Clara noticed he seemed distracted. He had been lost in thought since she arrived.
"Lucas, what's wrong?" Clara asked.
Lucas thought for a moment and then asked, "Clara, does the Kennedy family have any ties with the Howard family?"
This was the only way he could explain Victoria knowing someone from the Howard family.
"Lucas, you mean the Howard family, one of the big five?" Clara asked.
"Yeah," he nodded.
She said, "No, I've never heard my dad or Grandpa Oliver mention it."
If the Kennedy family had ties with the Howards, they wouldn't be in a lower-middle class.
Hearing this, Lucas felt disappointed. If there were no connections, how did Victoria get close to Alexander?
A thought crossed his mind.
The next day, Victoria got a call from Lucas, asking to meet. She didn't want to, but Lucas said it was important.
After thinking it over, she agreed.
