Chapter 313 There Are Many Ways to Take Care of Me

"You suck at lying," Preston said, eyeing Saskia's right hand. "Every time you lie, your right hand starts picking at your clothes."

Saskia quickly dropped her hand. She almost forgot he was the one who figured out that bad habit, and only he knew about it. Preston looked all serious, like a parent scolding their kid. "I told you your stomach can't handle super spicy or greasy food. Why didn't you listen today?"

Without thinking, Saskia shot back, "Preston, you've been controlling me for like twenty or thirty years. Can't I just indulge once?"

She huffed, pretending to be mad, and headed upstairs. Truth was, she was scared out of her mind. Everyone said Preston was scared of her, but she was just as scared of him getting really mad.

As soon as she saw Preston's serious face, she just wanted to run away. He usually spoiled her and gave her whatever she wanted. To everyone else, he seemed like the perfect, indulgent husband, and he was. But only if she didn't cross his line. Otherwise, she'd get a scolding.

His line was her health. Her stomach had been seriously messed up once and had only healed slowly over time. Since then, he was super strict about her diet.

After Saskia went to her room and took a shower, Victoria had just gotten home. Before getting out of the car, she sent Saskia a message on Facebook saying she was home.

Before going inside, she did the same thing as Saskia. Both of them sprayed perfume to cover up the smell of food.

Alexander was lounging on the couch, looking at his laptop. When he heard a noise, he looked up and met Victoria's bright eyes. The scolding he had prepared in his mind disappeared instantly.

"Honey, I'm back. Did you eat?" Victoria asked, turning into the perfect, considerate wife.

When she got out of the car, she saw a bunch of missed calls and a Facebook message from Alexander from two hours ago. She had her phone on silent.

Alexander wanted to tease her, saying, "What if I say I didn't eat because I was waiting for you?"

Victoria stood across from him, separated by the coffee table. She didn't dare get too close. She rolled her eyes and asked, "Didn't Sawyer tell you not to wait for me?"

"He did," Alexander replied. "But he also thought you were eating out with me, so Molly didn't cook dinner."

Victoria thought back to her chat with Sawyer. She realized she hadn't been clear enough with him.

"You really didn't eat?" she asked again, feeling a bit guilty.

Alexander just shrugged.

Victoria said, "I'll ask Molly to cook for you now."

He replied, "Molly's already off duty at this hour."

Victoria asked, "Then why don't you cook yourself? You know how to cook."

Alexander raised an eyebrow. "I didn't eat because I was waiting for you."

Victoria got the hint.

"If I cooked, I wouldn't dare let you eat it. If you ended up in the hospital, I'd have to take care of you," she muttered.

Alexander stayed silent, then asked, "What, you don't want to take care of me?"

Victoria shook her head and shot back, "What, you want to end up in the hospital?"

Alexander's temple throbbed. He pinched the bridge of his nose in frustration and said in a low voice, "Do I have to be in the hospital for you to take care of me?"

Victoria, not catching his drift, asked sincerely, "Then what other way is there?"

Alexander put his laptop aside, his face calm, and gestured for her to come closer. "Come here, I'll tell you."

It was like Victoria was under a spell; she obediently walked around the coffee table and approached him. Alexander was sitting, and she was standing. He looked up, and she looked down, their eyes meeting.

Suddenly, Victoria felt a weight on her wrist and fell into his arms with a gasp. Before she could react, the position shifted, and she was pinned beneath him on the couch.

Alexander had one hand under her waist and the other propped beside her ear. He looked at Victoria lying beneath him. Her eyelashes were long and thick, fluttering with her blinks like a beautiful dance. Her lively eyes always seemed to hold a galaxy of stars, and every time he looked into them, he got lost. Her flawless skin had a faint blush, and her thin lips were as delicate as cherry blossoms.

Alexander's lips curled into a mischievous smile. "There are many ways for you to take care of me, and this is my favorite."

As soon as he finished speaking, he leaned down. But the sensation was not what he expected; it was soft and cool.

He lowered his eyes and saw a hand between their lips. Victoria had realized what he was about to do and quickly put her hand up to stop him.

Alexander's deep, charming eyes narrowed slightly, and his brows furrowed, clearly asking, "What do you mean by this?"
