Chapter 195 The Medical Exchange Conference Ends

As soon as Caleb finished talking, he felt this icy vibe wrap around him, followed by a death stare.

Garrett shot him a look that screamed, "You're on your own, buddy."

After giving him the evil eye, Alexander turned his focus back to Victoria on stage.

Caleb gulped hard. He figured if they weren't in this place and he and Alexander weren't tight, Alexander might've actually taken him out right then and there.

Honestly, Caleb didn't mean to diss anyone.

It was just that Victoria's whole cross-disciplinary thing was mind-blowing.

Victoria's genes didn't seem to match the Kennedy family at all.

Otherwise, why would she have been ignored since she was a kid, had her name dragged through the mud, and even cut ties to avoid the Barnes family's wrath? The Barneses were so clueless. How could they have such killer genes?

It wasn't just him thinking this; the internet was buzzing with the same thoughts.

Oliver and Simon were totally floored.

A few folks nearby who knew them and also knew Victoria from the Kennedy family started gossiping.

"Isn't she the Kennedy family's forgotten daughter? What are they thinking, not valuing her?"

"Who knows? Rumor has it Victoria was a dropout, always trying to outshine Clara. Who would've thought she was a science whiz?"

"Recently, Victoria ticked off the Barnes family in Jakarda City, and the Kennedy family, trying to save their own skin, cut her off. That's cold."

"I think the Kennedy family is dumb. If Victoria were my daughter, I'd treasure her. She's got the looks, the brains, and the character. Compared to her, Clara's nothing."

Oliver and Simon's faces went pale, but they kept their mouths shut.

They came here hoping to network with some big pharmaceutical companies since the Kennedy Group wanted to break into the market. Instead, they got hit with this bombshell.

Oliver's wrinkled face and cloudy eyes locked onto Victoria, who was killing it on stage, with a new spark in his eyes.

They had no clue she was hiding all this.

Right now, she was like the brightest star in the sky, confident, classy, and untouchable.

This national pharmaceutical research conference was a huge hit.

Victoria had a quick chat with a few big shots before leaving the hall.

Alexander had been waiting for her outside, cool as a cucumber.

As soon as she stepped out, she spotted Alexander. He was rocking a black coat, hands in his pockets, standing tall and just waiting for her. His presence made everything else look like background noise.

She strolled up to him and asked, "Been waiting long?"

Alexander reached out and gently pulled Victoria into his arms.

Her chin rested on his broad, solid shoulder, and she said, "Sorry, ran into a few old-timers and had to chat."

With one hand around her slim waist and the other gently stroking the back of her head, Alexander whispered in her ear, "It's cool, I'd wait forever for you."

Out of his sight, Victoria's lips curled into a smile at his words.

Caleb and the crew, who had just walked over, caught this scene and felt a twinge of jealousy.

Bryan, hands in his pockets, sauntered over with that cocky yet classy stride, lowered his eyelids, and said, "Victoria, when did you get so soft? You're grinning like a fool."

Victoria stepped out of Alexander's embrace and shot him a glare, saying, "You're single; you wouldn't get it."

Not far away, Oliver and Simon, who hadn't left yet, eyed the people around Victoria and could tell right away they weren't ordinary folks, each oozing a unique vibe, and felt a pang of regret.

In the end, Oliver and Simon still stepped forward.

Victoria glanced at them coldly, having zero interest in why they were here.

Oliver looked at Victoria kindly and said, "Victoria, I want to talk to you."

Victoria's face was stone-cold. "Mr. Oliver Kennedy, we have nothing to talk about."

She knew their game; they just wanted to leech off her resources.

Oliver's face froze at her icy address.

Even with so many people around, Victoria had no intention of showing him any respect.

Victoria sneered, "Did you forget? No worries, the internet remembers. You were the one who cut ties with me. Now you're here to talk to me, just to use me again. Is Clara no longer useful? And now you have to come personally to talk to me."

Victoria's eyes were cold, her mouth twisted in a mocking smile, but her tone was calm, without a hint of emotion.

Now, the Kennedy family meant zilch to her, and she had no feelings left for them.

Simon, seeing her so indifferent, shouted angrily, "Victoria, how can you treat your grandfather like this!"

Victoria laughed at his words, her almond-shaped eyes glancing at him. "How did I treat him? I didn't curse him or hit him. I'm just stating facts. But you, since my mom passed away, when have you ever treated me well? Now, being able to stand here calmly and let you stand before me unharmed is already my generosity."

Simon was left speechless by her retort.

The others stood quietly, watching and listening.

In the end, Oliver and Simon could only leave in embarrassment.
