Chapter 258 Victoria's Disappearance

Marlowe had never seen Grant so whipped and frustrated before.

Caspian led his crew out of the lounge. Before heading out, Grant shot a cold look at Michelle and said, "I'll have someone take you home."

Taken aback, Michelle hadn't been there long, and now she had to leave.

But she couldn't argue, so she just nodded and replied softly, "Okay." She knew guys liked it when girls played nice.

Grant left, and Michelle kept her eyes glued to his back.

Lila and Marlowe were still there, watching the whole thing with cold eyes.

Michelle's gaze was locked on Grant.

Lila sneered and sighed, "Some people really have no shame."

Marlowe glanced at Lila and gave a helpless smile.

Michelle had her back to them, biting her lip, her face twisted with anger. But when she turned around, she instantly put on a smile and said, "Marlowe, Lila, I'll head back now."

Marlowe and Lila were impressed by Michelle's composure; they didn't expect her to stay so cool without a hint of embarrassment.

Lila gave a mental thumbs-up, thinking Michelle was even better at pretending than Clara.

Michelle didn't wait for them to respond and turned to leave.

Lila sighed, "I feel like she has a lot of endurance. I said that, and she could still smile and say goodbye to us. She must have a strong heart."

Marlowe stared at the door where Michelle had disappeared for a few seconds, her eyes flashing with a strange look. She hadn't expected Grant to choose to bring Michelle. It seemed he really disliked Marlowe.

"Marlowe, let's go find Victoria. She probably won't join the party and will be hiding in a corner," Lila said.

Marlowe replied, "Why don't you go hang out with Caspian? I can manage on my own." Lila was, after all, Caspian's granddaughter, and it felt a bit wrong for Marlowe to have her tag along.

Lila replied, "It's fine. He already asked me to stick with you. Besides, almost the whole Scott Family is at the party; it won't matter if I'm missing."

The two of them found Victoria in a corner of the lounge.

Alexander and the others were no longer there.

Victoria really couldn't be bothered to socialize.

The three of them started chatting.

"Hey, did you ask it?" Lila suddenly asked.

Victoria shook her head, shrugged, and gave a dry laugh.

Marlowe looked puzzled, "Ask what?"

Lila then whispered to her.

After hearing it, Marlowe's first reaction was, "Could it be that Alexander has some kind of illness?"

Lila instantly burst out laughing.

Victoria's face fell, looking very speechless.

Marlowe quickly covered her mouth to stifle her laughter. "Victoria, I was just joking."

"It's okay," Victoria said, pursing her lips.

She didn't think there was anything wrong with Alexander's health.

But since the two of them thought so, Victoria felt a bit guilty.

Victoria had tried to hack into the hospital's medical records system before, but she didn't do it illegally; she had the clearance to check.

But all she found was a normal physical report from a year ago.

She noticed Alexander had a physical exam every year, and it was almost time for another one. She thought he might as well go early.

She suddenly remembered when they first got married, he had hinted, both openly and subtly, that he wanted a baby. Back then, she hadn't sorted out her feelings, so she kept putting it off.

Ironically, Now that she had figured out her feelings and realized she only loved him, he didn't want to have kids.

Victoria got up and walked towards the restroom. "You two go ahead. I'm heading to the restroom."

After a while, Alexander and the others came back.

Alexander glanced around and didn't see Victoria. He frowned and asked, "Where's she?"

Lila replied, "She went to the restroom."

As soon as she finished speaking, Alexander disappeared from their sight.

Caleb teased disdainfully, "I think it's not Victoria who can't live without him, but the other way around. It's just a restroom trip. Does he need to be that worried? He even went to find her himself."

Lila lazily retorted, "A single guy like you wouldn't get it."

Caleb turned and glared at her, "Lila, watch your mouth."

Lila fake-smiled and replied, "I'm just telling the truth."

Caleb was silent for a moment. He turned to Owen, "Aren't you going to do something?"

Owen raised an eyebrow, "As long as she's happy."

Caleb's mouth twitched.

Garrett laughed a few times on the side, and Caleb rounded on him, "What are you laughing at? Aren't you single too?"

Garrett instantly clammed up.

On the other side, Alexander went to the restroom and waited at the door for a few minutes, but Victoria never came out.

He took out his phone and sent a message, but there was no reply.

A few seconds later, he directly called her, but it rang until it hung up with no answer.

He didn't hear a ringtone from inside the restroom. His face instantly darkened. Without caring if anyone else was inside, he pushed the door open and went in, finding it empty.

He immediately called Dylan, "Get the surveillance footage from the hotel banquet hall restroom area right now!"

Dylan had just answered and put the phone to his ear when he heard a very low and cold voice. He couldn't detect any emotion, but he could feel a chill in his heart.

Losing no time, he immediately sprinted towards the hotel's surveillance room.

The only thing that could make Alexander react this way had to be something related to Victoria.
