Chapter 207 Time to Get Up

"Lila, what's up?" Victoria asked, still curious.

Lila shrugged, "Oh, nothing major. Just twisted my ankle a bit."

She went on, "So, when I went to get Orlando for this series, I heard MO Studios was after him too. But guess what? Orlando liked our script better, so he picked us. But then, MO Studios snagged Gilbert Bailey for their project. And get this, their script is the same genre as ours. Kinda fishy, right? I also heard their opening ceremony was the same day as ours, and there was some drama online about it."

Victoria raised an eyebrow, "Drama about what?"

Honestly, since handing Silver Screen Studios over to Lila, she hadn't kept up with the details.

Lila filled her in, "People were debating which series would be better when they air. Both Orlando and Gilbert are big names, so naturally, folks are comparing them." She paused, "But a lot of people seem to prefer Orlando."

Victoria got the gist.

Both MO Studios and Silver Screen Studios were adapting popular novels, so the original fans were all over it.

"And the male lead for MO Studios? He's from the same company as Harrington," Lila added, "His name's Justin Carter."

Lila continued, "He's been blowing up lately, and his company is throwing a ton of resources his way."

They chatted a bit more before hanging up.

Victoria had a pretty good handle on what Lila had said.

A deep, smooth voice came from behind her, "Done talking?"

She melted into his warm embrace.

Alexander rested his chin on her head, then nuzzled her neck, his cool lips brushing her ear, making her giggle. She squirmed a bit.

She asked, "Yeah, you done with work?"

Alexander's lips lightly grazed her earlobe, tickling her.

She tried to push him away, but he grabbed her hand first.

"Did you miss me?" Alexander's deep voice whispered in her ear.

She knew exactly what he meant by "miss."

She replied, a bit annoyed, "No."

Then she felt a slight nip on her neck. "Alexander, quit biting my neck."

Alexander turned her around, holding her waist, and leaned down to kiss her.

His kiss was slow and gentle.

Alexander's hot lips trailed down her jawline, neck, and collarbone, making her skin tingle wherever he touched, but she loved it.

Soon, she felt herself melting, her cheeks burning, feeling a mix of discomfort and longing.

That empty feeling was driving her nuts.

At some point, he had already carried her to the bed.

When she was feeling all hot and bothered, Alexander's husky, teasing voice whispered in her ear, "Did you miss me?"

Victoria shivered, gritted her teeth, and was about to say "No," when Alexander's low voice cut in, "Three strikes and you're out, think carefully before answering."

At that moment, Alexander propped himself up a bit, putting some space between them.

She felt a rush of desire, craving his touch. Alexander looked down at Victoria, lightly biting her red lips. Her eyes were misty with emotion, but she wouldn't give in.

Victoria glared at him, knowing he was doing it on purpose, always trying to make her say something embarrassing.

Alexander was patient, even though his temples were bulging with veins. His self-control was strong, but it always crumbled in front of her.

He shifted his position, and Victoria thought he was leaving. Instinctively, she wrapped her arms around his neck.

"Relax, I'm not going anywhere," Alexander's deep eyes were filled with desire, a smug and wicked smile on his lips.

At this moment, she was soft, tender, and irresistible. How could he leave?

Usually, Victoria was decisive and cold, but only he saw this alluring side of her.

They were at a stalemate for a moment.

Victoria looked at him, clearly more aroused than she was, but Alexander remained unmoved. In the end, she gave in.

She had reached her limit, her voice carrying a hint of anger. "I miss you, okay? Hurry up!"

But her voice was too seductive, with a husky and ambiguous tone, making her own face blush.

Alexander's lips curled into a smug smile, and the next second, he said with a hint of wickedness, "Miss what?"

Victoria was speechless. Alexander was doing it on purpose!

She glared at him, her voice filled with emotion. "Alexander, don't push your luck!"

Seeing Victoria on the verge of anger, Alexander stopped teasing her and gently coaxed, "Okay, let's start."

The white walls of the room reflected the shadows of Alexander's movements.

On a cold winter night, the wind howled outside, but the temperature inside gradually rose.

The next morning, Rihegde had its first snow of the year.

The rooftops were covered in white, the branches dusted with snow, and the ground was blanketed in silver.

Victoria snuggled in bed, unwilling to get up.

She glanced at the snowflakes falling outside the window. No wonder she felt so cold—it was snowing.

Alexander opened the door and appeared, fully dressed. Looking at the soft bed, if it weren't for a head poking out, no one would know someone was lying there. The blanket barely raised, she was so small, but surprisingly strong.

"Time to get up." Alexander sat on the edge of the bed, causing it to sink slightly. Victoria turned her head to look at him and asked, "What time is it?"

The blanket covered her tightly, only her head exposed.

Alexander smiled, gently tidying her messy hair, and said, "It's nine-thirty."

If it were before, she would have gotten up immediately at this hour.

But she was too tired, and it was cold. She didn't want to get up.

Actually, she was quite afraid of the cold.

With a hoarse voice, she said, "So cold."

Alexander chuckled softly, "Even if it's cold, you have to get up. Remember, we have to go to the Howard Villa for lunch?"

Victoria remembered. She had heard the news late last night, half-asleep.
