Chapter 147 Victoria Returns to Howard Villa

Right after lunch, Natalie whisked Sarah away.

Their schedule was packed.

Victoria wanted to drive them to the airport, but Sarah declined because she had trouble moving.

Time flew by, and suddenly it was the fifteenth.

Ignatius's new song dropped without a hitch, and her foot was almost healed. She had some things to take care of.

With three days left until the eighteenth, Colin sent someone to pick up Ignatius.

After seeing Ignatius off, she headed to Horizon Group.

In the office, Victoria called Wesley in.

"I'm leaving Rihegde for a bit. The company's running smoothly, so I'm handing everything over to you," Victoria said.

Wesley was surprised. This wasn't usually his responsibility. "Ms. Kennedy, is this really okay?"

Victoria reassured him. "I trust you, Wesley. You're the best person for this. If something urgent comes up and you can't reach me, go to Joshua White. He'll help you.

"Also, don't tell anyone I'm not in Rihegde."

Wesley nodded. "Understood, Ms. Kennedy."

He knew she had been mysterious these past few years but never pried. He just did his job well, which is why Victoria valued him.

After giving more instructions, she left the company.

Then, she went to Howard Villa.

She didn't know Howard Villa was hosting a gathering of branch families.

When she arrived, she saw many cars parked outside.

"Kimberly, is today some kinda special day?" she asked, puzzled.

Kimberly, now assigned by Alexander to stay with Victoria, thought for a moment. "I don't think so."

"Let's go in and see," Victoria said.

In the main hall, the heads of various branch families and their eldest sons were present. Nathan sat at the head, with Preston, Saskia, and Landon beside him, but Alexander was missing.

They were there because of Alexander.

Since news of Alexander's serious injury, no one had seen him for over half a month.

"Nathan, we just want to know where Alexander is. He's been missing for half a month. This isn't normal," Keith said to Nathan.

Maurice added, "As head of the Howard family, he can't just disappear. If something happened to Alexander, you owe us an explanation."

Nathan stayed silent, listening calmly.

"You all just want a change in leadership, right?" Saskia snapped. "Alexander isn't dead, and you're already eyeing the family's power?"

She knew their ambitions. They hoped Alexander was dead so they could take over.

"Saskia, we're just thinking about the Howard family. It's got a hundred-year history. We can't let it all go to waste," Keith said.

Saskia didn't buy it. "You know who you're really thinking about!"

She continued, "Even if something happened to Alexander, Landon is still here. It wouldn't be your turn to take over. Do you know who called this meeting? I think you do." She glared at Keith.

These people were the real ingrates.

Keith was at a loss for words. Saskia never held back.

Though they had ambitions, they didn't dare show them in front of Nathan.

The Howard family is involved in many fields, and their power is immense. Naturally, everyone wants to be the leader, but only a direct descendant can hold that position.

Just then, a female voice cut through the crowd.

"If you all want to see my husband so badly, why not go to his company? What's the point of coming to Howard Villa?" Victoria said.

Victoria's tall figure appeared at the entrance of the hall. She was dressed casually in black high-waisted wide-leg pants and a white sweater, but her presence was commanding. As she walked in, the entire hall felt a sense of pressure.

"What are you doing here?" Keith asked.

Victoria walked to the center of the hall and greeted Nathan and the others. "Grandpa, Dad, Mom, Alexander and I are coming back for dinner. He's still at the company handling some matters and will be back later."

Nathan and the others were surprised by Victoria's appearance but played along.

"Alright," Nathan responded kindly.

Victoria turned to Keith and smiled faintly. "Did you forget that I'm Alexander's wife? Of course I'm coming home. Do I need to explain that?"

She glanced at the branch family members and added, "But what are you all doing here at Howard Villa? As far as I know, it's not a designated day for you to come here. Normally, you need permission, right? But it seems you didn't get any. Are you trying to ignore the Howard family's century-old rules?"

The branch families were stunned. An outsider like Victoria was using the Howard family's rules to reprimand them?

Her aura was no less than Alexander's. She spoke with confidence and authority, yet maintained a noble and elegant demeanor, making the branch families take another look at her.

Victoria subtly moved her eyes and saw Christopher sitting below. She smiled faintly and said, "I know you all heard rumors that Alexander is in a coma. I understand your concern."

As she spoke, she observed everyone's expressions. "But that's just a rumor. Alexander did suffer a minor injury, but it's not fatal. Thank you for your concern.

For the past half month, he's been in Rihegde. Because I sprained my foot, he's been working at home while taking care of me, so he hasn't appeared. I'm really sorry for making you all worry."

The crowd was silent.

Victoria's sharp reprimand for not following the rules, followed by a gentle explanation, left Keith and the others with no room to argue.

At this moment, they no longer dared to underestimate Victoria. She was different from other people in wealthy families.

No one knew why the Kennedy family chose to sever ties with her.

She could handle the branches of the Howard family with ease, calmly and decisively, giving a warning and then offering reassurance, leaving them unable to refute.

Christopher clenched his fists subconsciously when he heard that Alexander had been in Rihegde all along.

How could that be? His subordinates had been watching in Country M. If Alexander had returned, how could he not know?

He squinted his eyes and stared at Victoria for a few moments.

Her appearance was already a surprise to him.

She had managed to escape from Neil unharmed and even survived a car explosion. Guess she's pretty tough, too.

His subordinates had reported that the car exploded and Victoria was dead, but here she was, totally fine.

So, the information he received before was all false. Alexander had known everything all along?

Christopher felt a vague sense of crisis.

He had thought that Alexander's wife, Victoria, was just a pretty face with no ability. But now it seemed that Victoria was not only beautiful but also had an intimidating presence.

She was just someone not favored by the Kennedy family, who had severed ties with her to avoid offending the Barnes family of Jakarda City.

Now, not only did she have the support of the Barnes family, but she was also Alexander's wife. It didn't make sense for the Kennedy family to ignore her. The Howard family was more attractive than any other family.
