Chapter 12: Be Good, Let Go of Your Hand

Wesley didn't give a damn. He shoved through the crowd at the door and yelled inside, "Ms. Kennedy, you..." But before he could finish, he saw a face that made his blood run cold.

'Isn't that the mysterious CEO of Vertex Holdings?

'What's he doing here?' he wondered.

Seeing Victoria standing there unharmed, he finally exhaled in relief.

Then it hit him—the people he had just pushed aside were Owen from Cleveland Clinic and Caleb from the Garcia family.

Terrified, he quickly backed off and apologized, "Sorry about that."

Wesley took a moment to calm down and realized the folks blocking the door were all big shots!

Garrett from the Martinez family was there too!

He couldn't believe he was seeing all these heavyweights in one place.

Suddenly, a thought struck him, 'Oh no, did Victoria piss off Alexander?'

While he was freaking out, Victoria, still held by Alexander in the private room, was fuming.

She was mad at herself for letting Alexander's gaze mess with her head.

She'd only met him five times.

Victoria closed her eyes, took a deep breath, and spoke in a voice as cold as ice, "I'll say it one more time, let go!"

No one dared to make a sound because Alexander's face was getting darker by the second.

Just when they thought he was gonna blow up, they heard a gentle male voice say, "Relax, don't clench so tight, it'll hurt."

Alexander's deep, soothing voice reached Victoria's ears, and then her tightly clenched left hand suddenly felt a coolness followed by warmth.

Startled, she opened her eyes and looked at him.

He was gently prying open her clenched left hand with his other hand.

Caleb and the others were stunned by Alexander's gentle and helpless tone!

Was this really the cold Alexander that they knew?

When Victoria's palm opened, everyone saw a nasty scratch, and as soon as she relaxed, it started to bleed.

Alexander's eyes flashed with concern.

"Owen!" Alexander called out in a low voice.

"Let's go to the hospital, I didn't bring a medical kit," Owen at the door immediately said.

While Victoria was still lost in Alexander's gentle voice, she was suddenly scooped up.

"You..." she protested in shock.

"Be good, I'll take you to the hospital first," Alexander interrupted her.

As he walked out the door, he said, "Dylan, handle it."

Dylan nodded, "Got it."

Victoria silently watched as Alexander carried her to the car. Anyone who didn't know might have thought she was seriously injured.

Emergency room.

Victoria winced as the disinfectant seeped into her wound; she was actually very afraid of pain.

Then, Owen, who was focused on treating the wound, received a cold, sharp look from Alexander.

Alexander took a few steps forward, pressed Victoria's head onto his chest, and gently stroked the back of her head.

Victoria was silent.

She didn't react at all.

Then she heard Alexander's voice.

"Do you even know how to apply medicine?" Alexander questioned Owen.

Owen felt very wronged. He stopped, looked up at Alexander, handed him the medicine, and said irritably, "Why don't you do it?"

Alexander was speechless.

If he knew how, he wouldn't need Owen.

"You do it!"

Just then, Caleb and Garrett arrived and heard the conversation.

Both of them twitched their mouths.

Alexander was questioning Owen's medical skills?

What a joke! Owen was considered one of the best in Rihegde and the youngest director of Cleveland Clinic.

Did he know how to apply medicine? What a joke!

They looked at Victoria, who was being held in Alexander's arms without a word.

They roughly understood what was going on.

They never thought there would be a day when Alexander would lose his composure.

Owen ignored him and continued to apply medicine to stop the bleeding, but he suddenly discovered a problem.
