Chapter 293 The Dominant Caesar

Victoria lowered her eyes, raised an eyebrow, and asked, "What kind of cooperation are we talking about?"

Christopher didn't beat around the bush. "You've heard the buzz about Miami's big plan to attract investment and turn it into a global economic hub, right?"

She gave a slight nod, her eyes gleaming with curiosity. She didn't say a word, just gestured for him to go on.

"My proposal is straightforward," Christopher paused, locking eyes with her, trying to read her every reaction. "I need you to get the bidding proposal from Vertex Holdings Group about Miami. In return, I'll make sure you get out safely and help you uncover the truth about your mom."

Victoria chuckled softly, leaving him unsure of what she meant.

Victoria gazed at him for a few seconds, shook her head, and sighed deeply, embodying an air of utter disappointment.

"I'm not accusing you of anything. I just said you were a good guy, and now you want me to do something shady?" she asked, genuinely puzzled. Then, with a slight pout, she added, "If you want to swipe someone else's bid proposal, that's on you. But dragging me into it? No way. I'm not doing anything illegal."

Christopher was baffled, thinking, 'Why does she always throw me off like this?'

"So, you're saying you don't want to cooperate?" he asked, trying to keep his cool.

Victoria quickly shook her head, "I didn't say that. I'm just not capable." She rambled on, "You know how Alexander is. Even you can't take him down, so how could a weak woman like me stand a chance? Plus, he's super suspicious and cautious. He wouldn't share company secrets with me, even though I'm his wife. I can't get close enough to snag the proposal. I'd probably get caught before I even touched it. If Alexander caught me, do you think I'd still be okay? No way!"

On the other side, Gideon was impressed by Victoria's speech. He was almost dizzy from her words, let alone Christopher.

He glanced over and saw Alexander smiling. He thought, 'What's so funny about this?'

Christopher was indeed thrown off by Victoria's 'serious' lecture.

Before he could respond, Victoria added, "If you want to tick off Alexander, fine. But leave me out of it. I'm a scaredy-cat. I finally married him, and I don't want a divorce."

The room fell silent for a few seconds. Christopher opened his mouth a few times but only managed to say, "Don't you want to get out of here? Is he more important than your life?"

Victoria simply said, "I won't choose."

The implication was clear: she wanted both!

Gideon finally got what she meant and smirked, "You're pretty bold, you know..."

Victoria cut him off, "Besides, just a heads-up, I didn't come here alone."

Christopher squinted, not saying a word, and shot a sharp glance at Clara.

Clara panicked and pointed at Victoria, shouting, "Victoria, you lied to us. I told you to come alone."

"Yeah, you did," Victoria said. "You told me to come alone, meaning no people. I get that. But you didn't say I couldn't bring other things, right?"

Clara was suddenly at a loss for words.

Victoria's words were pretty vague, and no one really got what she was hinting at.

Out of nowhere, a beastly roar echoed from outside.

Someone whispered, "Did you hear that? Sounded like a tiger."

Another voice chimed in, "Yeah, I heard it."

"Could it be real?" someone else asked.

"This isn't the jungle. How could there be a tiger?" another reassured.

Christopher squinted, staring hard at Victoria.

Victoria smiled calmly at him. "You still don't get me. I don't have many bad habits, but the one I do have is..." She slightly curled her lips and eyes. "I can't stand threats!"

Christopher went silent.

He saw a wild arrogance in her, a woman who could be both calm, elegant, and wildly unrestrained. He had never seen such a combo before.

How did she pull it off?

Just then, a scream came from outside.

"There's... there's a tiger... a big one." A black-clad guard ran in, terrified and stammering.

Everyone turned to look.

A huge white figure suddenly appeared before them.

In an instant, their pupils dilated, and they forgot to breathe, their faces etched with fear.

Even Christopher was stunned.

Clara collapsed to the ground.

Caesar lowered its gaze slightly, eyes full of danger. He walked towards the crowd with a sense of menace.

The people surrounding Victoria scattered instantly, all gathering around Christopher and retreating continuously.

A massive wild animal, especially a ferocious tiger, was beyond their combat skills to handle.

The crowd was too terrified to speak.

Victoria stood still, watching Caesar.

As Caesar approached her, Christopher, out of goodwill, was about to shout at her when he saw her smile affectionately.

He was puzzled, then saw that her smile was directed at the approaching white tiger.

She said, "Caesar, perfect timing. Well done."

Her words left everyone stunned.

Then they realized that the 'other things' she mentioned was this tiger.

A more shocking scene followed. The huge tiger lowered its head to Victoria, seeking a pat.

Victoria reached out and rubbed its head. "Good boy."

Christopher stared at her in disbelief.

Victoria turned to look at them, meeting his puzzled gaze, and smirked, "So, can I leave now?"

Christopher's mouth twitched.

It was the first time he had seen someone so arrogant.

Caesar followed Victoria's gaze, roared at the crowd, and opened its terrifyingly large mouth, revealing sharp teeth.

Everyone gasped and took a step back.

The close roar scared them. They feared it might suddenly leap and tear them apart.

"Let her go," the man protecting Christopher said. "If we really fight, we won't win."

Christopher knew that all too well.

Meanwhile, Clara had already bolted from the abandoned building.

She never expected today's situation, nor did she expect Victoria to secretly keep such a dangerous wild animal.

Keeping a tiger was definitely illegal.

Clara's eyes flashed with malice. She wouldn't miss any chance to take down Victoria. She hid in a nearby grass pile.

Soon, Victoria came out of the abandoned building, followed by the huge tiger.

Clara took out her phone, recorded a video, and left.

Unbeknownst to her, Kimberly, hiding opposite, saw her actions clearly.
