Chapter 228 He Wants to Get on Entertainment News with Her

Alexander got a call from Howard Villa and had to bounce.

An hour later, he strolled out.

First thing he asked when he got in the car was, "Where's Victoria?"

Dylan shot back, "She's got a coffee date with someone."

Alexander checked his watch. It was almost noon. "Let's go wait for her."

Dylan hesitated but then nodded. "Alright."

In a chill coffee shop on a busy street, Todd and Victoria were tucked away in a corner booth.

Todd wasn't thrilled with the spot she picked. "Why not just hit the base? Why meet here?"

Victoria's eyes dropped, her fingers tapping the armrest. "Not a good time to go back."

Someone was tailing her, and she wasn't ready to blow her cover.

Todd caught on quick. "Someone's on your tail?"

He wasn't dumb; he got it right away. His political smarts were sharp.

Victoria nodded softly, then looked up, a lazy glint in her eyes. "Why'd you want me back?"

Todd shrugged. "Nothing major, just that everyone misses you."

Victoria squinted, clearly not buying it.

Her stare was so sharp.

She heard a soft sigh.

She waited him out.

Finally, Todd spilled. "We've got a secret mission to crack the enemy's firewall. We've tried a bunch, but we always choke at the last step. Almost got busted a few times. Good thing you set up that anti-tracking system at the base."

"Their moves are weird, like they know what we're gonna do next and always counter us."

Victoria listened, not showing much, just pursing her lips in slight frustration. "Guess my lessons didn't stick."

Todd's eyes twitched. She was just too good, not that the others were slackers.

Everyone at the base was a top hacker, but none could touch her level.

When Alexander showed up, he saw Victoria walking out with some guy he didn't know.

He watched Todd pat Victoria on the shoulder and say something with a grin. Victoria just nodded.

Dylan peeked outside and then glanced at Alexander in the rearview mirror, feeling a chill.

As soon as Todd left, Victoria turned and spotted the familiar black limo parked by the curb.

Hands in her pockets, she strolled over.

At the same time, Alexander stepped out of the car.

Alexander's tall, handsome figure by the car door always turned heads.

Victoria smiled, "What are you doing here?"

She stood in front of him, tilting her head to look at the charming and dignified Alexander.

In the winter sunlight, her skin looked even more delicate and rosy, so tempting that he wanted to kiss her. So he did.

Alexander cupped the back of her head with one hand and her waist with the other, pulling her close and kissing her on the lips.

Victoria was totally floored. He actually kissed her right there on the street, with a bunch of people watching.

From a parking spot across the way, Todd had just gotten into his car. When he looked up, he saw the whole thing and couldn't help but smirk.

He calmly pulled out his phone, opened the camera, zoomed in a bit, and snapped a pic. Then he hopped on Facebook, found a group, and posted the photo with the caption: [Victoria's too busy dating to visit you guys.]

After posting, he shut off his phone, tossed it aside, started the car, and drove off, not giving a damn about the complaints in the group.

Victoria's legs felt like jelly from Alexander's kiss. She felt herself so useless.

She wouldn't flinch if twenty assassins were in front of her, but Alexander's kiss made her legs go weak.

His kiss was seriously intoxicating.

She pulled her hand out and reached inside his coat, grabbing his inner shirt.

Dylan, sitting in the driver's seat, glanced sideways, stunned for a few seconds before looking away.

He had a feeling there'd be some juicy entertainment news online soon.

Some folks on the street recognized them and quickly snapped a few photos.

Alexander only gave her a light kiss and soon let go.

Victoria buried her face in his chest. Without looking, she knew a lot of people were watching.

It was super embarrassing. Alexander was even chuckling in her ear.

Victoria blushed. "Let's go. You might like being watched, but I don't."

Hearing Victoria's muffled voice, Alexander led her into the car.

As soon as the car door closed, she said, "Wait. I drove here myself."

In the end, Dylan got out to drive Victoria's Mercedes and followed them.

In the car, Victoria sat in the passenger seat and glared at Alexander in the driver's seat. "Alexander, did you do that on purpose?"

Alexander glanced at her. "Do what?"

She said irritably, "Don't play dumb with me."

Alexander controlled the steering wheel with one hand and reached over with the other to pinch her puffed-up cheek.

She rarely showed such an expression, very cute and alluring, especially with her pouting lips, soft and unforgettable.

Victoria called out, "Focus on driving, and don't pinch my face."

She intended to slap his hand away but ended up having her hand held by his.

Alexander said seriously, "Why are you so tempting? I couldn't help it. You can't blame me for that."

Victoria was speechless. "So it's my fault then."

Alexander said in a teasing tone, "No, it's my fault. For losing my proud self-control whenever I see you."

Victoria said, "By your logic, I must be very good at bewitching men."

Alexander glanced at her seriously and sincerely said, "You only need to bewitch me."

She didn't know whether to be angry or to laugh. "I don't want to bewitch anyone."

Alexander held her hand tightly, silent, with a smile on his lips.

Kissing her just now was partly selfish; he really didn't like seeing men around her. But he also genuinely wanted to kiss her.

He even hoped someone would post it online.

He wanted to be on entertainment news with her so more people would know Victoria was his wife.

Victoria had no idea about his thoughts, though.

After all, no one would have thought that Alexander, who always hated being photographed and exposed, would now want to be on entertainment news.
