Chapter 155 A Visit from the Tudor Family

Victoria sat by the bed and rested for a while.

Just as she stepped  to the door, she heard the door open.

She frowned slightly, and then Alexander's familiar and anxious handsome face appeared before her eyes.

Before she could react, she was enveloped in Alexander's warm, familiar embrace, which carried a faint fragrance.

The moment Alexander held Victoria in his arms, his anxious heart finally settled.

Victoria, with a somewhat dazed look in her eyes, asked, "Why are you here?"

Kimberly and Dylan, who followed behind, took one glance and then sensibly turned around and left, closing the door behind them. Alexander's face was somewhat gloomy because Victoria hadn't eaten on time, leading to low blood sugar.

"I'm fine now." Victoria, feeling a bit guilty, clung to Alexander's arm, swaying it slightly, and looked at him with a smile, blinking her almond-shaped eyes.

Just now, under his cold and dark expression, she almost forced herself to eat breakfast for the next morning as well.

"What did I say that day?" Alexander's face stayed grim despite her trying to be cute; his tone had a cold edge to it.

Over time, Victoria had come to understand his temperament, knowing that he was genuinely angry at the moment, but she felt very happy.

She thought for a moment and then, in an unprecedentedly soft voice, said, "You told me to eat well and sleep well."

"So, you just ignored my words?" Alexander asked back, still with a cold face.

"No, I wouldn't dare. I always remember. This time was an accident." She immediately shook her head continuously, which Alexander found somewhat cute, especially her rosy lips, making him want to kiss her.

Alexander squinted his eyes slightly. "So,you mean there will be another accident next time?"

Victoria raised her hand and sincerely swore, "I swear, there won't be a next time!"

Alexander's sexy thin lips pressed into a straight line, clearly not believing her. "What if there is a next time?"

Meaning, she needed to come up with a punishment for him to believe her.

This troubled Victoria a bit; she was the worst at coming up with punishments.

She tilted her head slightly, rolled her eyes, and looked at him with a playful smile. "How about you suggest one?"

"Are you sure?" Alexander asked.

Victoria thought he couldn't possibly suggest something she couldn't do; that wouldn't be realistic, and Alexander wasn't stupid.

"Sure," She nodded.

As soon as she finished speaking, she saw Alexander's previously gloomy and serious handsome face suddenly break into a smug and wicked smile.

Belatedly, she sensed it was his plot.

Alexander's well-defined lips curved slightly. He was extremely handsome, and just a casual smile could make Victoria infatuated. The mature and wicked charm he exuded always made her fall for him.

"If you disobey again next time, then I will..." Alexander paused, then leaned close to her ear and said in a teasing tone with a wicked smile, "make love to you for three days straight, how about that?"

Alexander's breath on her skin made her feel a bit uncomfortable.

The next second, she reacted, clenched her fist, and lightly punched his chest, putting a small distance between them, and glared at him. "Is this a punishment for me or a reward for yourself?"

Alexander pretended to sigh and then said seriously, "I have no choice but to use this method to create opportunities for intimacy with you."

Victoria fell silent.

Alexander accompanied Victoria for two days in Country M. She originally came to investigate Esme's matter, but after much investigation, it was just as Adrian and Saskia had said.

However, there was an unexpected gain; at least she confirmed one thing that someone was secretly preventing her from investigating Esme's matter.

The day Alexander arrived, she had already told him about her doubts.

At this moment, in Rihegde, at the Kennedy family's villa, Felix and Heather suddenly visited the Kennedy family. Upon learning this, Clara carefully dressed up before coming downstairs.

She always presented herself as graceful, gentle, kind, and elegant.

Even though her true nature was almost exposed some time ago, it seemed to have had no impact on her.

She was still the beloved daughter of the Kennedy family, still regarded as the jewel of Rihegd.

"Dear in-laws, what brings you here today?" Oliver asked kindly with a benevolent smile.

In fact, Felix had always disapproved of Lucas and Clara's marriage. Moreover, after the live broadcast incident, he was even more opposed to Clara becoming Lucas's wife.

He thought Victoria was quite good. She looked very much like Esme back then, and she was always calm and composed, not at all like the arrogant and disrespectful person the rumors said she was.

Felix had seen Victoria a few times when she was young; she was well-behaved and sensible, and she had even inherited Esme's wisdom.

Lucas had secretly broken off the engagement with her, and by the time Felix found out, it was too late.

Felix, having been in business for many years, naturally carried a strong sense of authority, but he still had to show respect to Oliver, so he said, "Oliver, I can't consider you in-laws anymore."

Felix's words left the Kennedy family members slightly stunned. What did he mean?

Clara instantly became nervous, her hands tightly intertwined on her lap.

Felix continued with a look of regret, "Heather and I have talked it over, and we believe Lucas is not worthy of Clara. So, today, Heather and I are here to call off their engagement. After all, they announced it without informing us. We also understand this might affect Clara's reputation, and we are willing to offer compensation as much as we can, as long as the engagement is off."

Felix's words left Clara and the Kennedy family in shock.

They thought Felix and Heather were here for Lucas and Clara's marriage, and indeed it was about the marriage, but it was to annul the engagement.

Elodie was the first to react and asked, "Is this Lucas's decision?"

Today, only Felix and Heather came; Lucas himself was not present.

And just the day before, Clara had spent the entire night with Lucas.

After so many years, Clara knew Lucas well enough to know he wouldn't annul the engagement with her.

But she couldn't say anything in front of Felix and Heather. After all, they were Lucas's parents.

She could only endure the bitterness in her heart.

"Mrs. Kennedy, as mothers, we both want the best for our kids. You want your daughter to marry a reliable person, and I understand that. I have daughters too, but I hope you can understand us as well. We only have one son, Lucas, and naturally, we hope he has a good marriage. I didn't mean Clara is not good, but Lucas is not worthy of Clara. I believe Clara will find someone reliable in the future," Heather said.

Her words were measured and left some room for maneuver, showing her reputation as a well-mannered person in the elite circle. She advanced by retreating, leaving Elodie momentarily at a loss.

Heather's face always carried a gentle smile, but her tone was flat and distant, clearly stating her position.

In this elite circle, Elodie was no match for Heather.

Heather came from a prestigious family and was known for her elegance and nobility in her youth. Her innate grace and noble aura were something Elodie could not compare to.
