Chapter 102 Nolan's Disguise
"Don't fall for me; you can't handle it," Victoria said bluntly.
Nolan was drawn to her aloof and wild vibe, making him want to conquer her.
But he knew from his time at the club that winning Victoria over would be tough. If they couldn't be lovers, business partners would work too.
He trusted his gut; Victoria would surprise him.
Just as he started to smile, it froze.
Victoria looked at him coldly. "No need to act frivolous. You've been patient with the Parker family for years; tired of pretending, right?"
His face darkened, eyes icy. He'd been undercover in the Parker family for over a decade, and no one suspected him—except Victoria.
Seen through by Victoria, Nolan was like a lion waking up. He was now on guard, losing his carefree demeanor.
She chuckled, "Mr. Parker, no need to be wary. I'm not interested in your affairs; I'm interested in making money."
In other words, she wouldn't mess with his long-term plans in the Parker family.
Nolan realized Victoria was smarter than he thought. She saw through his decade-long disguise.
He smiled devilishly. "You really surprise me."
Victoria replied, "Likewise. You know the principle of knowing your enemy. Horizon Group is still willing to work with you."
If he said more, he'd seem petty. Plus, working with Horizon Group wasn't a loss.
"Alright, since you've seen through me, I won't pretend. Let's have a pleasant cooperation and become great partners. I'm looking forward to it," Nolan said.
After signing the contract, Nolan left. The whole process took less than half an hour.
This might have been the fastest contract Victoria ever signed.
She appreciated Nolan's straightforwardness and his temper. At least he didn't get angry after being exposed.
Downstairs, Nolan got into the car and kicked the back of the passenger seat hard.
Samuel Long, his assistant, shuddered. Seeing Nolan's gloomy face, he cautiously asked, "Mr. Parker, did the deal go south?"
Nolan took a deep breath, the kick venting his anger. "Drive!" he said coldly.
Upstairs, not long after Nolan left, Lila arrived.
"Darling, I just saw someone from the Parker family downstairs. Do we have a collaboration with them? How come I didn't know?" She had seen the carefree Nolan in the lobby.
"We didn't before, but we do now," Victoria answered.
"But that's the fun-loving Nolan. What kind of collaboration could we have with him?" Lila asked. Everyone knew Nolan as a playboy with no business sense.
Victoria crossed her arms and smiled. "That's just his disguise."
Lila was stunned for a few seconds.
Her eyes widened as she tentatively asked, "You mean his whole 'useless' thing is just an act?"
Victoria shrugged. "Yes."
Lila quickly caught on. She was smart and had rapidly grown Silver Screen Studios in the film and entertainment industry. Among all the companies, Silver Screen Studios ranked in the top six.
Since its inception, Silver Screen Studios had always been managed by Lila. Victoria never interfered; she just provided funding and collected profits.
