Chapter 26 Trouble from the Kennedy Family
On the other side...
Alexander lounged in a white bathrobe, the buttons undone just enough to show off his chiseled chest. His damp hair clung to his forehead, water droplets sliding down his perfect cheekbones, tracing his jawline, and disappearing into the robe.
He had that noble aura about him.
After a quick tidy-up, he changed into silk pajamas and checked his phone. A message from Victoria, sent ten minutes ago, awaited him.
Alexander: [Sorry, I was in the shower and missed your message.]
Victoria had just settled into bed when she saw his reply.
She found herself daydreaming, then snapped out of it with a slap to her forehead.
Victoria: [No worries, then go to bed early. See you tomorrow!]
Alexander: [Okay, see you tomorrow. Good night.]
Victoria smiled at his message and drifted off to sleep.
But Alexander wasn't so lucky. He kept replaying their kiss from tonight. It was amazing, and he wanted more.
The next morning...
Victoria walked into the company lobby and immediately spotted a group she didn't want to see.
She shot them a cold look and smirked, "What a way to ruin my morning."
Oliver, leaning on a cane, glared at her. "How did the Kennedy family end up with someone as rude as you? Don't you know how to greet your elders?"
Victoria sneered, her eyebrows arching slightly. Her eyes locked onto Oliver as she replied with a faint smile, "Grandfather Kennedy, when have you ever considered me part of the family?"
Her smile was icy.
"Since you never have, why should I greet you? Isn't that just sick? I think so," she added as she rolled her eyes at him.
Her arrogance and disdain instantly enraged both Oliver and Simon!
Simon pointed at her angrily. "He's your Grandfather Kennedy. How dare you be so disrespectful?"
Victoria narrowed her eyes at her biased father. Simon felt a chill under her cold, piercing gaze.
With a cold, exquisite face, Victoria stared him down, raised an eyebrow, and said with an air of superiority, "I have every right to!"
It was the time when employees were arriving for work, and everyone knew about the strained relationship between Victoria and the Kennedy family. It was common knowledge.
But the tense scene still made people uneasy!
Victoria truly lived up to her role as CEO. Her presence was so commanding that even alone, she could rival her opponents on a personal level.
Wesley arrived just in time, glanced at the people gathering to watch the scene, and coldly remarked, "Do you all want to be fired?"
The crowd dispersed instantly, not daring to linger.
Wesley stood quietly behind Victoria.
Clara, holding Elodie's hand, stood with a dignified and elegant posture, looking very well-behaved!
She stared at Victoria, who was dressed in a sharp yet elegant professional outfit. Clara had to admit that Victoria was very beautiful, and this only fueled her jealousy and hatred.
She envied Victoria's always superior attitude and hated her for her aloof and effortless demeanor.
Victoria had lost the protection of the Kennedy family and Lucas. She should have been miserable and heartbroken, but she wasn't.
She remained the same, becoming even more arrogant and aloof.
Why could she still live so freely? Clara couldn't stand it!
And why did Victoria still hold shares in the Kennedy Group and own Horizon Group? These should have been Clara's.
Jealousy twisted her mind further.
Simon, unable to respond to Victoria's retort, could only glare at her angrily.
He hadn't forgotten the purpose of their visit today.
Victoria ignored him.
"We're here to discuss something with you," Oliver said, softening his tone despite his dislike for Victoria.
Victoria was slightly surprised to hear the word "discuss" from them. That was funny.
She didn't speak, crossing her arms and waiting for them to talk.
Oliver was uncomfortable with her superior attitude but suppressed his feelings.
He said, "Your sister called you yesterday. You should know by now, right?"
Victoria looked at him, still silent. She didn't believe they would come to Horizon Group just for these two little things.
Seeing her unwillingness to respond, Oliver's face darkened, and his tone became more severe.
"On the 28th, you must attend the piano exchange event hosted by the Green family!"
Victoria narrowed her cold eyes and said coldly, "Give me one reason why!"
