Chapter 103 Clara's Malicious Intentions

Clara came back to the Kennedy Group today after recovering from her suicide attempt at home.

She had just left the perfumery lab and overheard some chatter in the break room about the Horizon Group. She paused when she heard the name.

"Did you see the news?" someone asked.

"What news? I've been swamped and just got a break," another replied.

"Half an hour ago, Horizon Group launched a product called 'AromaVista' at a press conference. They're entering the aromatherapy market, and it's already a hit," the first person said.

"Really? They just launched it out of nowhere? Their secrecy is impressive!" the second person exclaimed.

"Yeah, it's like they kept it all under wraps. I heard our company was planning to enter that market too, but Horizon beat us to it," the first person continued.

"The two companies have always been rivals. Isn't the CEO of Horizon Group Mr. Kennedy's younger daughter? Why is she competing with us?" the second person asked.

"Who cares? I heard Mr. Kennedy only loves Clara. If it were me, I'd ignore family ties too. Money talks," the first person replied.

"Exactly," the second person agreed.

"I also heard Horizon Group gave out sample packs to a hundred fans," the first person added.

"That's impressive. Those fans kept everything secret. Amazing," the second person said.

"Honestly, Horizon's perfumes are better than ours. They've never had quality issues. The last scandal was just slander," the first person continued.

"Totally. I get all my perfumes from Horizon. I never use our company's stuff. I just throw away the ones we get for holidays. The quality sucks; it's all marketing," the second person said.

"Keep it down. If Clara hears, it'll be trouble," the first person warned.

"Same here, never used them. I tried once and had an allergic reaction. It scared me," another woman chimed in.

"Also, Clara's perfume formulas have been getting worse. I don't know how she wins those awards," she added.

"It's weird, right? She got second place the first year, third the next. Will it be fourth this year?" another woman said.

"Still, she's way above us. She's the chairman's daughter," another woman said.

"Exactly. Even if her formulas are bad, we have to smile and flatter her," the other woman said.

Clara had heard enough and left with a cold expression.

She headed to Simon's office.

Simon had already seen the news and knew the situation. Horizon Group and Kennedy Group had been rivals for years. Horizon was nearly bankrupt until a mysterious investor put in $200 million five years ago. Victoria took over two years ago, but the investor was actually Victoria herself.

"Dad, why did Victoria suddenly launch a new product in the aromatherapy market? Isn't that our plan for next year?" Clara asked, looking serious.

She knew Simon was already angry.

Sure enough, Simon cursed, "That bastard, always opposing the Kennedy Group!"

"Dad, could Victoria have found out our plans and launched early? Only our internal management knows about this," Clara suggested cautiously.

She then covered her mouth in surprise. "Could someone have been bribed in our company?"

She was subtly blaming Victoria.

Simon immediately agreed. "It must be that bastard Victoria! Who else?"

Clara pretended to defend Victoria. "Dad, Victoria wouldn't do that."

Simon got even angrier. "She was so arrogant at the Kennedy family yesterday. What wouldn't she dare to do?"

Meanwhile, Victoria, watching the press conference live in her office, sneezed several times. She was being wronged out of nowhere.
