Chapter 143 Simon's Illegitimate Child
Alexander eyed the metal box in her hand and asked, "What's this?"
Victoria filled him in on Ethan's story.
When she finished, Alexander, sitting next to her, calmly said, "My guy took him away back then."
Victoria was stunned. No wonder she couldn't track him down.
She knew Alexander wasn't behind Ethan's death, but his subordinates were the last to see Ethan.
Alexander added, "If you want to know what happened next, I'll have Dylan explain."
Victoria nodded, "Okay, have him come over."
She wasn't trying to solve a mystery; she just felt something was off. To avoid future issues, she wanted to get to the bottom of it.
She was also curious about the USB drive Ethan left behind, which the police hadn't found.
Soon, Dylan arrived and greeted, "Mr. Howard, Mrs. Howard."
"Dylan, can you tell me about Ethan?" Victoria asked.
Dylan thought for a moment, then said, "After we took Ethan, we treated him. But a week later, some people came and took him. He wasn't important, so we didn't pay much attention."
Victoria frowned. Someone took Ethan?
Ethan wasn't from a powerful family; she knew that.
Who would dare take someone from Alexander, especially an ordinary guy?
The people who took him might be behind his death, or maybe he did commit suicide, but it was definitely related to those who took him.
Dylan, thinking Victoria wanted to find Ethan, said, "If you want, we can bring him back."
Victoria replied, "No, he's already dead."
Dylan was shocked. Ethan was dead?
"But, Dylan, I need you to find out who took him," Victoria continued.
Realizing she was asking Alexander's man, she turned to him, "Will this slow him down?"
Alexander smiled, "No, he's all yours."
Dylan stayed silent.
Victoria smiled at Dylan, "Thanks, Dylan."
Dylan replied, "No problem. I'll start right away."
With that, Dylan left.
Next, she wanted to use the computer in the study. Since she couldn't go upstairs on one leg, she looked at Alexander.
"Honey, can you carry me to the study? I need the computer," Victoria asked.
"Sure," Alexander smiled.
She was getting more comfortable calling him that.
He liked hearing it too and was happy to help.
In the study, Victoria was shocked by Ethan's secret.
She looked at Alexander, but he wasn't surprised.
"Isn't this normal?" Alexander said with a slight smile, "But I'm different; I'll only have kids with you."
Victoria was silent.
He always brought it back to this topic.
She ignored his comment and said, "Ethan had no beef with the Kennedy family. He might have disliked me, but he collected Simon's scandals. That doesn't add up."
Alexander replied, "Maybe he wanted a backup plan."
Victoria asked, "What backup plan?"
She couldn't understand what kind of backup Ethan needed. He was willing to go to prison for Clara, so what was he afraid of? Why would he need a backup?
Alexander simply said, "You'd have to ask him."
Victoria was silent.
Forget it, this wasn't her problem. She just didn't expect Simon to have an illegitimate child.
He hid it well.
That child was ten now. She didn't expect him to be so cautious that even Elodie hadn't found out.
But why didn't he bring that child home?
She knew Simon always wanted a son, but since marrying Elodie, she hadn't gotten pregnant again.
That was odd too.
Alexander interrupted her thoughts, "Stop thinking about it. They have nothing to do with you now. Some things will reveal themselves in time. No need to overthink."
Victoria nodded. It indeed had nothing to do with her, and she didn't care about the Kennedy family's assets.
"Come on, let's take a nap." Alexander suddenly picked her up, startling her. She instinctively wrapped her arms around his neck.
