Chapter 179 Are you guys dating?

"Hey babe, who you sneakin' off to meet? What's with all the hush-hush?" Lila asked, raising an eyebrow.

Lila and Victoria strolled into the Starlight Diner, arm in arm, like they owned the place.

They headed up to the fifth floor, but instead of their usual spot, they were led to a different room.

Right before opening the door, Victoria flashed a sly grin and said, "Someone you know."

"Someone I know?" Lila looked confused and was about to ask more, "Who is it, making it so..."

Just then, Victoria swung the door open. The two people inside turned to look, and Lila's jaw dropped. "Oh my God, are you two seriously dating?"

Lila was floored, staring at Harrington and Donna sitting together like she’d seen a ghost.

Donna was just as stunned. She hadn't expected the "friends" Harrington mentioned to be Lila and Victoria.

What a small world.

Donna quickly explained her connection to Harrington to Lila.

Lila blurted out, "Wait, Harrington is your uncle?"

Donna nodded. "Yep, you got it."

Lila thought they looked pretty good together. She never guessed they were family. No wonder they had those matching eyes.

"So, what's up with you two?" Donna asked, her eyes darting between Victoria and Harrington, full of curiosity.

Donna was all ears, ready for some juicy gossip.

"You two aren't a thing, are you?" Donna guessed boldly.

That was what she figured. Harrington was thirty and never had a girlfriend. From what she knew, he didn't have any female friends either. Now he had a female friend to introduce? Something had to be up.

Victoria stayed quiet.

Harrington stayed quiet too.

Lila thought Donna had quite the imagination.

But honestly, if Victoria wasn't married to Alexander, Lila might've thought the same.

Harrington playfully knocked on Donna's head. "Stop with the wild guesses. Victoria and I are just friends, and she's already hitched."

"Married?" Donna was genuinely shocked. Victoria looked so young; how could she be married already?

For Donna, who thought marriage was a trap, it was hard to believe.

Lila grabbed Victoria's left hand and waved it around.

Victoria stayed silent.

"How did you two meet? How come I didn't know anything about it?" Lila demanded. She was Victoria's close friend, after all. Except for the years Victoria was abroad, they were always together.

"Harrington got his start in the entertainment biz as a singer. I used to write lyrics for him back then, and that's how we met," Victoria explained, keeping it short and sweet.

Harrington nodded, backing her up.

Lila and Donna suddenly had a lightbulb moment. Victoria was Amy, the one who not only composed music but also wrote lyrics. They remembered that all of Harrington's lyrics were penned by Amy, and he was a huge deal back then.

But then, out of nowhere, he announced he was done with singing, which totally rocked the entertainment world because the guy had serious pipes.

When fans were losing their minds, his agency dropped the bombshell that he was retiring from singing for good.

After that, he switched gears to acting, starting from the bottom, but he still killed it and became an award-winning actor with fans all over the globe.

After making sure Harrington and Donna were on their way, Lila turned to Victoria, squinting her eyes. "Babe, was it you who got Harrington to take our script last time?"

Victoria gave her a playful pat on the head and sighed, "Took you long enough to figure it out."

With that, she headed towards the parking lot, and Lila chased after her, yelling, "Wait up! I had no clue about your connection back then. You kept it so under wraps."

Fast forward to two days before the big medical conference.

On this day, traffic in Rihegde was way tighter than usual, with special vehicles escorting VIPs to their hotels.

After all, the attendees were big shots in various international fields.

Victoria slept in late. She tossed and turned a bunch but couldn't drag herself out of bed, so she decided to just chill since it was Saturday.

Last night, Alexander had kept her up until the crack of dawn. No matter how fit she was, she couldn't keep up with his insane energy.

The strength gap between men and women was real.

After finally waking up, Victoria lay there for a bit longer. Around noon, she finally got up, feeling ravenous.

After freshening up, she headed downstairs.

As soon as she got downstairs, she was greeted by Molly's warm, smiling face. "Mrs. Howard, you're up. Mr. Howard told us not to disturb you before he left. Want something to eat?"

Victoria felt a bit embarrassed.

Just as she was about to respond, a female voice called out from the kitchen. "Victoria, you're up. Come here. I made chicken soup for you."
