Chapter 330 Taken Away by Someone Else

At three in the morning, Victoria was burning up with a fever. After over an hour of fussing, the fever finally chilled out. Owen stuck around, mostly 'cause Alexander wouldn't let him leave.

"She's good now. Once the fever's gone, she'll wake up tomorrow," Owen said, eyeing Alexander who hadn't left her side. "But when she wakes up, Victoria's gonna feel super weak. Looks like you guys are spending Christmas in the hospital, and she won't be going anywhere for a bit."

Nobody would've thought something like this would go down right before Christmas. Christopher picked this time to make a move, just to be a jerk.

As Owen was heading out, he remembered something. "Oh, by the way, where'd you get the blood for Victoria today? How'd it get here so fast?"

Alexander looked up, frowning at Owen. Owen was taken aback. "Wasn't it you who sent it?"

"Simon's blood type doesn't match Victoria's," Alexander frowned deeper. "I had just nabbed him, and then your people came out saying Victoria's blood pressure had stabilized. I thought it was you."

"The rare blood we have at the hospital isn't enough for Victoria." Owen was puzzled. "I thought you sent it. I had just asked a nurse to inform you, and within minutes, the blood arrived."

They both went quiet. "Find out!" Alexander said in a low voice. The blood's origin was a mystery, and Alexander was uneasy. The fact that someone could deliver the blood so quickly meant they knew about Victoria's condition.

Looking at Victoria lying on the bed, her face still a bit flushed, but her lips pale and dry. Alexander picked up a cotton swab, dipped it in water, and gently dabbed it on Victoria's lips, a mix of tenderness and heartache. He thought it was time to deal with some people.

"Mr. Borgia, please spare me. I didn't know she was with you." Luke was dragged back by Ellington's men, kneeling on the ground, looking terrified at the intimidating man before him.

Ellington's sharp gaze swept over Luke, and he raised his leg and kicked Luke against the opposite wall without hesitation.

"Cripple him!" Ellington was always ruthless and spoke little, except in front of Victoria.

Luke, enduring the immense pain, lay on the ground, his pupils dilated, trembling all over, stammering, "No, Mr. Borgia, I know I am wrong."

Ellington didn't want to look at Luke any longer. "Take him away!"

"Yes, Mr. Borgia." Two men stepped forward, one on each side, and dragged the struggling and pleading Luke out of the room.

Sophia glanced in from outside the door, then turned and came in. "Got some news. It's confirmed the Howard family is behind this," Sophia said. "A guy named Christopher. Our people were too late; Alexander's crew already got him."

Alexander had found Victoria first. They only headed back to Seattle after making sure Victoria was safe. Once back, Ellington took care of everyone involved, leaving no loose ends.

At five in the morning in Ridgewood, everyone was still asleep, and the streetlights were shining bright, like guiding stars. Christmas trees lined both sides of the streets.

But in a certain dark basement, a chilling cold filled the air. Gideon stood at the door, saw the visitor, and tossed his cigarette butt to the ground, crushing it under his foot. "Alexander, he's inside," he pointed to the door behind him.

Alexander's sharp features were cold, as if wrapped in frost, and the tension around him was palpable. In the dark basement, as the door opened, a gust of cold wind blew in, but it was nothing compared to the intense pressure coming from Alexander, which was truly terrifying.

The further in they went, the colder it got. Inside a small room in the basement, the lights were blindingly bright. Christopher was blindfolded, tied in a crucifix position to a wooden cross.

Gideon raised his hand, signaling, and someone immediately stepped forward to remove the black cloth covering Christopher's eyes.

Suddenly, the bright light made Christopher squint, frowning and taking a moment to adjust. When he saw Alexander in front of him, he was somewhat surprised. Looking at Gideon beside him, he instantly understood.

So, Gideon was working for Alexander all along. No wonder Gideon was unmoved when Christopher tried to collaborate with him before.

'If Gideon and Alexander are in cahoots, then Alexander must have known about my affairs all along. This plan is truly grand.' Thinking about it, Christopher started laughing. "Alexander, your plan is a bit of a loss," Christopher sneered. "You even lostyour wife and mother."

Alexander was unmoved by Christopher's laughter, his voice ice-cold. "Who told you I lose them?"

Christopher's laughter stopped abruptly; he didn't understand what Alexander meant.

Alexander ignored the confusion in Christopher's eyes and had no intention of explaining.

Christopher was confident in his plan, and the sniper he arranged had told him that the two women were engulfed in the explosion's flames.

Alexander, as if reading his mind, said, "Do you think what they told you is necessarily true?"
